MaxSupercars Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 Great models! Such many pieces... OMG. Max Quote
Kristof Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 Ever since I explored your models through Jutlandia (being featured ob BB) I title you the best lego ship builder. I have never seen other model with the same or higher amount of detail, especially regarding hull shaping. Extremely well done :) Quote
agrof Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 WOW. Superb detailing, although these are too big for my taste, more sculpting than "playing Lego". - no offense. Do You make models for living? Must be a dream job. Quote
JJ2 Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 From far off these models look like they were not Lego! Good job! Quote

It's a just a litle side business From far off these models look like they were not Lego! Good job! Thanks, It is my goal to make them look like normal scale models. D3K Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 I have been fascinated by your work for quite a while (well, ever since I first saw some of it), and I undestand why Edwin thinks of you as a "master" when it comes to ship building Being a naval architect by education, and very interested in ship design, I am simply in awe at the details in these models! But the possibly most impressive aspect is the way the hulls are shaped so well Great work, and looking very much forward to seeing more of your work in the future! Quote
2LegoOrNot2Lego... Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 So nice to see them "lined" up in this single topic...lovely builds as I told you so many times!!! You have your self again some impressive builds going on...great!!! Quote

I think that the hulls are still improving. So nice to see them "lined" up in this single topic...lovely builds as I told you so many times!!! You have your self again some impressive builds going on...great!!! Thanks, I thought it was time to make my own topic here :) This is what I am building right now: The inside of the stern is gettting shape . by Arjan Oude Kotte, on Flickr It is the internal frame for the stern. Just like the part I have allready built it will be placed studs down in order to create a strong rear section of the Ievoli Amaranth, When it is done I will post a photo of the two parts together, Edited November 25, 2015 by Konajra Quote
Konajra Posted December 22, 2015 Author Posted December 22, 2015 Some work done on the Ievolie Amaranth. I have joined the bottom of the stern with the framework. Konajra Posted January 4, 2016 Author Posted January 4, 2016 just love the detail you put in all your fascinating models........beautiful work!! Thanks Arjan- I was a ship modeller [ Scratch, wood, 1700-1800, working at 1:24]. I love the work you are doing. Keep it up! 3 Cheers for studded beams Ed I am always amazed what some people can build out of wood. I for one can't. everything I build is more or less skewed :) some progress on the Ievoli Amaranth. Midsection frame has been built, and has the skin on the side. Frontsection frame is built, and now I'm putting the trusses on. After that I can start with what is the most time consuming part of this ship: putting the plates (skin) on the frontsection trusses. But that is also one of the best ones since you see the bowshape appear Ievoli Amaranth by Arjan Oude Kotte, on Flickr Quote

Konajra Posted December 20, 2016 Author Posted December 20, 2016 (edited) So, after moving to a new house I finally had time to continue work on the Guardian. The hull is nearly finished as is the rear deck. last week I have been busy with installing LEDs in the cargorails and the winchhouse. at first I was pretty happy with the warm white color I had used for the lights in the cargorails but now the cold white LEDs are in place near the whinch I think I will also ut cold whit LEDs in the cargorails. Keeps me of the streets. here are some photos: And some more work on the Guardian. by Arjan Oude Kotte, on Flickr the next photos have been taken during LEGOWorld utrecht where I was building durimg opening hours of the event Soms quick (and bad) photos of the Guardian at LEGOWorld 2016 by Arjan Oude Kotte, on Flickr And some more by Arjan Oude Kotte, on Flickr I only made some mistakes so back home I had to take the whole bow apart and start over. you will not see the difference but now the hull looks like this on one side. letsbuild Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 Wow! Your models are in-freaking-credible! I really like how they have tons of tiny detail on these huge models! Very impressive! Quote
Jeroen Ottens Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 Amazing. I just love those lighted scenes [nostalgia] It reminds me of the old trainbooks from Lego where they showed the electric train layouts with electric lights [/nostalgia] Quote
