Jim Posted February 1, 2016 Author Posted February 1, 2016 You are bending, but since the rules didn't clearly state to round up to whole stud units, you don't need to remove yourself from the competition. Technically you are within competion limits Quote

Appie Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 (edited) Even if this point of "half liftarm" was brought up before, I'd say count in half studs. I have had way too many occasions where I was able to add a feature thanks to a half liftarm/half stud that I already hate seeing them come back every MOC I make and those things being part of the solution to a problem Love the half stud, don't hate Edited February 1, 2016 by Appie Quote
deehtha Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 And , ultimately, if people don't like it, they can make it know when voting Quote
Jim Posted February 1, 2016 Author Posted February 1, 2016 Voting topic is available! http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=120722 Quote
tgrbailey Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Voting topic is available! http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=120722 Sorry if I've missed it, but how long do we have to vote? Quote
Jim Posted February 1, 2016 Author Posted February 1, 2016 Please read the voting topic's first post Quote
tgrbailey Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Please read the voting topic's first post not sure how I missed the green text must get me eyes fixed Quote
Serhio Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 "Closing date will most likely be somewhere between one and two weeks." So far, so long ... I participated in many competitions, in any vote was no longer than one week. Usually everybody votes in the first three or four days, and then wait patiently until the end of voting time. Jim knows better, but I think it's a waste of time. Quote
9v system Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 my entry is not in the voting topic looks like I did not make it Quote

Well of course I aim to vote within a week :-) But was just worried we had until Fruday or something as I need to look on a proper PC not just my phone !! Quote
Jim Posted February 2, 2016 Author Posted February 2, 2016 my entry is not in the voting topic looks like I did not make it You entry post was empty. So far, so long ... Jim knows better, but I think it's a waste of time. Yup, I know better The time to vote is not the main factor. When I close the voting topic, I immediately calculate and publish the results. Ergo; I close the voting when I have time to tally the votes and publish the results. Quote
zweihander Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 I have to say I'm a bit disappointed by the number of entries to this contest, I was expecting more people would participate. What's not disappointing is the quality of entries, there are so many great models, in different sizes and styles. Quote
Lipko Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 The timing wasn't perfect: Christmas holydays. I wanted to join, but I wanted to finish my too-long lasting project and also the aformentioned thing was too much. Quote
Jim Posted February 2, 2016 Author Posted February 2, 2016 Fully understandable. It's a pretty though contest and the Holidays can be pretty busy. Quote
Serhio Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 Jim, please specify: "If you joined Eurobricks after the start of the contest, you can be banned from voting (when vote rigging is suspected)" This means that the "key date" is November 27, 2015 when the contest was announced, or February 1, 2016, when the voting started? Quote
Jim Posted February 3, 2016 Author Posted February 3, 2016 I think I already specified it: "after the start of the contest" To be clear; that's the 27th of November. I wouldn't worry too much about it. It's merely a disclaimer. I calculate the score with and without "joined date check" and it seldomly leads to a different result. Quote
Serhio Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 Interestingly, if the vote is left open, how long people will continue to vote for? Quote
rollermonkey Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 (edited) I was actually busy enough with school I didn't get to vote for six days, and there's a full page of votes after me. Three days would have cut off a huge portion of the voters. Edited February 14, 2016 by rollermonkey Quote
