Posted November 29, 20159 yr With the great success of my TC8 entry, I finally got the boost to share this creation. I present to you one of my dream cars: A three door Saab 900. Still undecided on model year (pre-facelift 79-86 or facelift 87-93) and type (turbo, aero, etc.) It's been sitting on a shelf plaguing my mind for about a year. Sorry for the dust Oh, yes. It is another large scale build. This is done in scale 1:6,5 resulting in a length of 73 cm or 91 studs. The reason for the scale is that I like to use solutions as close to reality as possible. The plan is to build as many features from the real car into this model as I can make work (suspension, engine, gearbox, handbrake, adjustable seats, etc.) If it's not reliable or out of scale it might get skipped. It will be all manual, but I'm not sure if PF LEDs will be used or not. I might even throw in a 'big' surprise to be revealed when complete. This is very much a WIP far from finished, not sure how much of what you see here will remain in the completed MOC. Do not worry about it being all black, it's the colour of which I have the most parts, so it is the easiest to build prototypes in. It pains me to have to build prototypes in multicolour. At the moment I'm leaning towards a classic red but may go yellow depending on technique of building the bodywork. Maybe even white... or grey, hmm... so many choices Here are a few more photos and a size comparison with the 42039 Do not expect too much progress too soon, I am a slow builder. It took me two month, a year ago, to get this far! Questions and comments are welcome. Happy building, David
November 29, 20159 yr Your entry on the TC8 where great . The complete lines of the 900 are spot on and very curious how the final moc is work out .

November 29, 20159 yr Instantly recognizable as a SAAB. Do you plan to keep the wireframe or are you going to fill the bodywork?
November 30, 20159 yr Author I'm happy that you like it. When I started building, the plan was to build the wireframe to get the right proportions and later build a filled bodywork. But, thinking about it now, filled bodywork with these large surfaces are a challenge. Wireframe might be easier, still giving the right form and at the same time show the internals. Hmm... Maybe build one of each, I might have enough parts for that
November 30, 20159 yr maybe you can try to combine wireframe with solid body... one side wireframe with more care about internal components and other side - filled with bricks... in this case you can choose - a side of car shown for the exposition :) It's a huge model, so easier for detailing ...
