Hello, I'm on a quest to make a full custom city. So as you probably know all cities need a police force and mine will include a few swat trucks. The truck is a pit bull vx and I was wondering if it should be 8 or 6 studs wide? If you want to see a pit bull here is a link to a picture http://www.tacticalvehiclesnews.com/alpine-armoring-pit-bull-vx-armored-swat-truck/ and also could you give some tips? Please and thank you ahead of time :sweet:

The question would be, what scale do you prefer?

I would do 6 wide but look looking at all those angles 8 wide would suit better for a vehicle that size and style.

A good part so base your model on are the wheels.

Perhaps 4517737 (http://brickset.com/parts/4517737) with 4619323 (http://brickset.com/parts/4619323) would be the best wheels. In that scale an 8 wide model would be the best.

Well, good luck with making your model! Feel free to post some pics when your building it!

I think that this topic should be in the town forum. I think a moderator should move the topic.

Well one of my biggest questions with it being 8 wide was the windshield. Do you have any ideas on what windscreen to use?

I'm not much of a City guy, but I would go with an 8 wide in the case of making it both a. more accurate, b. more intimidating. If you wanted to, do you think that you could post WIP photos of the 6 and 8 wide? From than on, I think that we'd be able to help you out more.

If you're going for a retro style with 4 wide cars, then 6 wide would work. But if you're going to have 5 or 6 wide cars as is typical these days then I'd say definitely 8. If it was an official set it would be 8.

post-140968-0-23645600-1449411829_thumb.png There is my final truck.

Very nice design! Very aggressive and sturdy-looking! How wide is it in total? I count about 12 studs wide with the fenders and that step plate.

I've had a similar projet, and I went with a smaller scale. My concern with your design would be fitting that monster on a road baseplate (if you plan on using those).

I went the "easy" way and modified this truck (Doc Oc Truck Heist, 76015).

It was the right size when compared to my other vehicles. I was going for this older type of truck design so it was a perfect fit :

I know it's not as mean-looking as yours, but that's what worked for me as a starting point.

And I still really like your design! :classic:

I'd make it 7, that is really the maximum if you want some accuracy in scale.

With the wheel arches you use on this one, it is now already 10 wide, wider then most trains.

Good luck on your build!

The biggest part is 12 and I'm going to use custom roads. And I might make it slimer because it is huge.
