Commander Turtle Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 This is fantastic! What a great MOC, and I'm so glad for the new video - that mechanism is just beautiful. Very, very clever. Quote
stigge72 Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 As so many before me already said: Awesome build! Very nice trick to change the step lengths for turning. Quote
Edwin Korstanje Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 Congrats with the frontpage  Quote
gylman Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 Wow. Amazing. LEGO should license this. I'd buy it in a heartbeat. Best technic thing I've seen in a long time. Maybe ever. Quote
bonox Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 Wow - really great seeing more MOC's around that move but don't have wheels. Well done. Quote
gamejutzu Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 Presenting to you, the next evolution of the Hex Bugs. Quote
Gallowglass Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 Outstanding creation. You should enter this in Lego Ideas. Quote
Younge Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 Totally awesome!!! It reminds a bit of one of those strandbeests that Theo Jansen creates. You should definitely put this up on Lego Ideas - beat them at their own game - there is no official Technic set as badass as this!!! Quote
Gunman Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 Thats awesome mate.... Great way to introduce yourself..! Welcome! Quote
Aethersprite Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 That's incredible. It's a joy to watch the cockpit open and the cannons reveal themselves. Phenomenal job! Quote
MaxSupercars Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 Great model! Great solution. The small hexapod in explaining video dragging the battery box is so cute... :) Max Quote
modog Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 I admire your work. What a masterpiece! Quote
Bryboy747 Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 Dude this is awesome! I like the opening hatch! Quote
Mowikan Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 instructions please! This so awesome! Quote
Richard Dower Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 this is the most awesome thin i have seen all year!....the fact it transforms so smoothly and quickly, can steer, looks lifelike, badass, quite menacing, amazing panel placement. this should be an official lego set....bravo! Quote
neonic Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 (edited) First I saw this I thought 'Tank...where are the guns?' Till I see that pic below. It's cool. Here is a little animation to see their kinematic: Think the whole thing looks great. Rather you like it or not, it's very cool to see it how it's walking and showing/hiding the big guns. Like ... tadaaaa And the way the cockpit opens... kind of high-tech. Only a bit of a shame is the big opening in the cockpit. So that guy is a bit vulnrable. Edited December 19, 2015 by neonic Quote
ctx1769 Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 I love it, I could use it against my misbehaving cats..........MWAHAHAHAAA!!!!!! Quote
Hugolin Posted December 29, 2015 Author Posted December 29, 2015 I realize that I have not said thank you for the frontpage. Also thank you for your comments and your welcome. Outstanding creation. You should enter this in Lego Ideas. You should definitely put this up on Lego Ideas - beat them at their own game - there is no official Technic set as badass as this!!! Lego ideas: no. Lego can too easily refuse: it is a weapon. I start ordering parts for a second hexapod to make photo instruction. I'll do the driving part, without panel, cockpit and other. I'd surely the rest too, but again later. All this will surely take some time ... Quote
barman Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 Oooh, I love this one. Really good enginering on the turning system. Simple but very effective. The hidden canons are a nice touch, but I really like the opening cabine. It is a very nice inspiration for me. I am going to start designing my own walker. I already made a small demo version of the walking system for 1 leg. This is still the first version, so I will probably have to redesign it a couple of times to get it working the way I like it. It could be possible to intergrate your system into mine and make the walker walk even better. So thanks Quote
