touthomme Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 I've been itching to build another EV3 model recently and my girlfriend suggested I try to build a machine that can decorate cookies with icing. This is the result, which we call the EV Icer. Right now the program can decorate three designs - a star, snowflake and angel. It's built using only pieces from the EV3 kit (31313), plus you need some icing material. :) It's actually a bit sensitive to operate, and performance depends heavily on the viscosity of your icing. I've written a bunch of notes about getting it to work well on my website. You can also find building instructions for it there: http://jkbrickworks....-icing-machine/ We also had way too much fun filming this mock infomercial for it. :) J Quote
syclone Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Seen the video when you first put it on YouTube. Very cool MOC. Quote
JGW3000 Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Finally, a good reason to buy $350 LEGO set! Hopefully, my results won't vary Quote
2LegoOrNot2Lego... Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Nice!!! Finally, a good reason to buy $350 LEGO set! Hopefully, my results won't vary  Quote
JM1971 Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 All you need now is a lego cookie monster. :D Quote
SevenStuds Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Awesome machine! Angels are very elaborate ;) Infomercial is very funny! You guys must have had a blast filming it! Quote
Andy D Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Very nice, however $350 for a cookie icing machine seems a bit excessive ;) Your infomercial was great, like many infomercials, over-acting, but true to the art of infomercials. You need to talk to Anthony Sullivan, I'm sure he has a place for you. Merry Christmas, Andy D Quote
autoreverse Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 You rock, this is brilliant ! Did you use an existing algorithm to convert the patterns into instructions for each motor ? Too bad there are too few Mindstorms MOCs around here... Quote
