Posted December 7, 20159 yr BR 14-031 4-4-2 Steam Locomotive Hi everyone, after taking a long break from my BR project I decided to complete my collection, making the last three steam locomotives to have a BR in each decade: today it's the turn of the BR 14-031 I like the the wheel arrangement with only two main axes and the large diameter wheels... I haven't yet the decals to complete the work at 100% but the locomotive is operative... ...it is a "push-along" locomotive that must to be attached to my motorized caboose wagon... As always I've implemented the front and back lights on this unit, enjoy the pictures... ...two more locomotives to go... What's next? You'll know next week...
December 7, 20159 yr Welcome back to your BR projects. It is always a great pleausure a new one from you and we can enjoy a lovely result even this time. This steam machine is well rendered from you made out of Lego and I agree about the wheels arrangement. Those large wheels perfectly fit the model and hit the shape. Another pearl in your collection which is almost completed. I can't imagine how it could be to see all the locos together. Well done :thumbup:

First of all I totally have to agree with you about the wheel configuration -whatever is built up on a 4-4-2 it most definitely will look good I've been in love with this wheel arrangement for some time and plan to build my own 4-4-2, but a British one. Even though I'm normally not too fond of German steam I really love what you've created here.A shame she can't go on her own! The smokebox door is also a neat little detail

Thanks Nemo57! One of the most problematic part of the side frame was the effect of the rivets ...I had to put a side wedge plate without interfering with the oscillation of the rear wheels First of all I totally have to agree with you about the wheel configuration -whatever is built up on a 4-4-2 it most definitely will look good It would be great see also your work ...your locomotives are top notch! December 8, 20159 yr Erk. Sorry for my inability to describe what I mean. I mean what setup do you use to make the leading truck Swivel? stay connected to the front but. I can't figure out how to do that on the one im working on and the blind/front end swing out a lot. End Erk Edit. Dang it school wifi didn't load the photo. But I'll take into account what you've said - one of my engines is only missing stickers so you might be able to see something soon ;)

December 9, 20159 yr Really nice, and what a collection! have you some display cabinet? it would be wonderfull to see them alltogether. In this decade, after the BR96, I love the BR 59 and her "mother" the OBB 100.01 but SIX coupled axles are perhaps too much for Lego geometries.. good work Sergio and Eros Edited December 9, 20159 yr by monai

You have to use maximum flexibility and cleverness ...for example the BR 22-012 was really problematic so I've adopted the following solution: Great work again. I've put in hours of my time designing them but i never can come up with something good. You just have to insist patiently and results will be Nice addition to your impressive collection!!! Thanks Selander ...but remember two more to go I love the BR 59 but SIX coupled axles are perhaps too much for Lego geometries.. Really challanging but I would like give it a try ...the only thing is that it would be really expensive to buy all those blind wheels!
December 10, 20159 yr A cute little engine and another great model of yours! :thumbup: The design of the leading truck and its articulation to the main frame is really clever. I also like the way you snotted the cab windows and the firebox sides. I'm looking forward to see your last two BR steamers! (Just one thing - it's really nitpicking, forgive me, but the BR14 never carried DB signs, for all engines were retired until 1926. )

My next BR will be posted this next days... For the sticker you're right (of course) but the side of this locomotive seems too naked to me without a logo ...I'm waiting for the decals
December 11, 20159 yr Oh wow! Yet another beauty has rolled out of your locomotive works (with foreshadowing of two more to come!!!) Excellent as usual. While the prototype is a modest locomotive (at least compared to 4-8-4's and the likes) there is still a lot of great features in the model. My favorite is the use of the fender (mudgard) for the pilot truck to clear on curves (top shot), but the detail on the second shot is also well done. I'd say keep up the great work... but it sounds like you've already done that too (grin).
