Cree picks up Cheapy, then changes into the cowl.

WHY DID YOU LIE?!?!??!? Cree yells as intimidatingly as possible.

Keliim calmly walks towards Pemos desk and tells Cree, "Let him go, Cree! But th' question stands, why run away 'nd leave us behind?"

He looks at Pemo, "Didst ye get th'statue?"

"I did. Cheapy brought it and left but a few minutes ago. He seemed in a rush. He said you had abandoned him at the farmhouse and he almost got killed."

"Hmm... 'nd was it what ye w're lookin' for?"

The big man goes silent for awhile and has a troubled look on his face, then continues talking, "th's all be most unfortunated 'nd I th're was alot o' questions in th' beginnin' o' th's quest, 'nd unfortunaly I canst not say th's quest wouldst had an answer'd any... but th' show must go on, what nowst!? What do ye others think?

As he speaks, Bonaparte makes his way to the chest by his side.

There were children in the house. It appears that my fellow heroes knocked them out so they wouldn't be in the way, but Cheapy wasn't there. We then ran into him while looking for the statue, and he fled. Megablock.

[Mencot]

"Pretty much wh't th' knight said. We ran into th' child'ren o' th' house 'nd somehow talkin' didn't work, so we had tae apprehend th'm. Cheapy remained behind tae open a locked door 'nd when we saw him th' next time he ran o' with th' statue, shoutin somethin' I didst not hear. 'nd when we left th' house he was no wh're to be seen."

"Wh're didst he go?"

[Palathadric]

"He came here and brought the statuette, saying that you had abandoned the task saying it was too difficult or something like that. I gave him half the reward I promised you, because I told him that you had already completed a good deal of the work and deserved compensation for it. He left in a huff and a hurry."

Bonaparte opens the chest and gasps!

"The statuette! It's gone. Gone! Wait...there's a note.

...Damn him! He stole it. That wretch. He took it and all the money with it. I will tear him to shreds for this! Heroes, you must find him for me. He can't be far. Please! I've been played for a fool, if this note is right, and have been swindled by Cheaky the Ripper, one of the most dangerous characters in his line of work, if one can call it that. Please, apprehend him and bring him back here with the statuette and the coins. I beg you."

"Ooh, We knew there was something wily about that vermin from the get-go!" Quintessa fumed, losing her posture and temper. She slammed her rolling pin into the wall, sending chips flying. "After him!"

"Aye, we willst get him!

Canst ye tell us somethin' th't wouldst help us find him?"

"He has to have gone by the same route he entered. It's the only way. I doubt he would visit the same scene that he met you at unless he lost something there, so he probably would head in the other direction. As he will be carrying the statuette, he should be hard to miss as it may be small, but he's almost just as small. Good luck heroes."

Bonaparte turns away quickly, as if lost in thought.

The heroes rush out of the sewer system the way they came in. Upon exiting, they run into a familiar face.

The cat gives a little hiss at Cree before turning to Kellim and Quintessa.

"Hello, friends. Good to see you again. Thank you again for your help. You seem in a hurry. Where are you off to?"

[Mencot]

Keliim sees the friendly cat from before and says "Helo tae ye too."

"Thank you again for your help. You seem in a hurry. Where are you off to?"

"Remember th't dreadful rat th't was with us, he stole somethin' from our friend. 'nd now wh're huntin' him down but first things first, th' last time we saw ye we promised tae look for some milk. Nowst I think we habt some."

He turns to Kheyli and Quintessa and quietly says, "Kheyli, ye seem tae habt some? Woulst ye mind partin' with it 'nd givin' it tae th' our friend? If nay,I couldst buy it from ye, maybe?"

Keliim nods to the fairy, "Thanks" And the he gives the cat milk. "As we promis'd."

"Nowst th'n, Wouldst ye seen a rat go by here?"

"Sure I did. But I see a lot of rats. They usually steer clear of me. The last one I saw turned and went that way. What did he do?"

The cat points in the direction the heroes had first met Cheepy. Will they head that way?

Keliim looks in the direction the cat points.

"Aye, thank ye. As I said, th's dreadful rat stole somethin' from a friend o' us, 'nd we art nowst huntin' it back.

[Sandy]

"We do not think we have much of a choice but to follow the cat's clue, do we?" Quintessa mused, eager to press on.

The cat purrs delightedly.

"Wow, you actually brought milk all the way back here for me? I have a gift for you."

The cat disappears into his hovel and emerges with a cape made of rat skins.

QM Note: The rats seemed to have been skinned quite thoroughly and there is no severe stench.

"I will accompany you, if you'll have me. I have done my share of tracking."

The cat disappears into his hovel and emerges with a cape made of rat skins.

QM Note: The rats seemed to have been skinned quite thoroughly and there is no severe stench.

"Ah, why thank ye. What a great piece o' hand uuu, paw work th's be. Here ye go Kheyli, because it wast thy milk" The big man hands Kheyli the cape then he turns to and says to Quintessa and the others.

"Aye, lets keep movin' "

Says to the cat, "Ye be more than welcome to come withst us, maybe we willst learn somethin' 'bout trackin ."

Quintessa reaches to scratch the cat. "We would much rather have a cat accompany us than a reeking rat, so by all means, let her tag along."
