Posted December 9, 20159 yr Outpost 18. This MOC, build with a 32*32 studs restriction in mind, is illustrating the flora and fauna diversity on one of the planets explored during the Third Wave of Colonization. Thanks to oxygen-nitrogen atmosphere the open-cycle suits are available for usage and gas masks are not needed. However, it is not yet possible to fully get rid of these bulky hard-suits due to some objective (and possibly dangerous) reasons. The exploration base (of which a small part is shown) is build from standard tube modules on a geologically stable spot. Although the MOC's goal is to show the "Alien Life" diversity, the module is included for scaling purposes. Base size is exactly 28*28 studs, so I am able to add some overhangs without worrying to break the 32*32 limitations. Face #1. Main view. Face #2. Face #3. Face #4. Some more close-ups. Part of the base and outer platform. Internal part of the base's corridor. The place came out rather small and narrow, so nothing fits there except for the gear. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- This MOC was made for the competition held on Bricker.ru in November 2015. December 9, 20159 yr That looks great! You used some interesting techniques for those plants and trees
December 9, 20159 yr This is a very interesting scene indeed. The flora and fauna are very nice. I really like the colors of the flora.
December 9, 20159 yr Very cool! The rope ladder, blue flowers, and the various underground sections are my favorite. A little modification and you could plop this right into AG.
December 9, 20159 yr Author Interesting scene with a lot of exciting flora and fauna. That looks great! You used some interesting techniques for those plants and trees Great job WickNole - I really like how the alien flora turned out! Great MOC! Nice details and you've used nice building techniques This is a very interesting scene indeed. The flora and fauna are very nice. I really like the colors of the flora. I really like that dark red coral type plant! Whoa, this is awesome! Awesome plant life! Thanks guys! The whole idea for the MOC came when I was experimenting with different plant techniques. Very cool! The rope ladder, blue flowers, and the various underground sections are my favorite. A little modification and you could plop this right into AG. Thanks. :) I've had the idea to include the Octan printed plates here and there on the base... but decided it would be against the rules, both in AG and in the contest. But the idea was tempting, I agree. Just awesome! What are those yellow pieces around the base? These are simple 1*2 jumper plates.
December 9, 20159 yr These are simple 1*2 jumper plates. Oh wow ... Can you say, "totally, utterly and 100% embarrassed?" I think I got caught up in their similarity to CMF plates. I'll be here, hiding with my shame.
December 10, 20159 yr I like all the colors and the underground parts. One of the things that really stood out for me was the back side of the pod where you contained a cut scene of greebles below the floor. Great attention to detail!
