LittleJohn Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 (edited) A collab with my brother, Isaac (soccerkid6), it was built for the Inn category of the CCC. The inn features a full interior via pull out rooms. The Red Feather Inn is a prominent tavern located just outside of Katoren. Several years ago a room was added on to serve as the store room/kitchen and allow for more space in the dining room. It's rumored to be under the guardianship of a powerful genie, which two thieves are just now finding to be true... The pull out rooms: There's lots of detail packed in, so check out more pictures here: link Thanks for looking, C&C welcome Edited June 18, 2016 by LittleJohn Quote
TitusV Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Oh,waw... Cobgratulations to both of you, this is fantastic! The exterior are superb, and the interior only makes things better! Quote
Graham Gidman Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 I love this so much, the architecture is just lovely and I love the removable interiors. Well done! Quote
The Steward Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Amazing architecture! Love all the little details in the walls!! Quote
Garmadon Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Fantastic build LJ and SK! Wonderful job on the wall texture and the overall colors, and lovely feel with the palm trees and vegetation! Great idea with the pull-out rooms as well, and the brown and dark red colors accent the tan superbly! Excellent work here! Quote
blackdeathgr Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 (edited) I am a sucker for eastern themes and this MOC confirms it totally! Excellent work and well done to both of you! I especially enjoyed looking the lantern with the candle by the bed and the inn sign using plumes Edited December 9, 2015 by blackdeathgr Quote
Captain Braunsfeld Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Very nice, fine MOC! At first glance I thought it was some colonial building for pirates (and maybe this inspires me to build something like that) but then I realized it is kaliphinnial! Quote
Jacob Nion Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Pull out rooms! Never saw something like that before, great idea! The interiour is wonderful. And the outside perfectly fits in between your other town buildings. Katoren is blessed with such a lovely inn. Quote
Lord Vladivus Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Awesome, love the pull out rooms idea! Quote
BrickCurve Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Great build, the pull out room idea is a much better way to show the interior than having the walls on a hinge or a removable roof. The tan in the first 3 photos is a little washed out though, I don't know what image editing program you use but a slight boost in saturation would really improve the images. Quote
Puvel Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 That is lovely! As Andrew said, there is something odd with the colours. First thought the street was in some sort of blue. Still looks amazing though, well done! Quote
Spader Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 Wow! That is seriously impressive! I love the "kaliphlin" feel you're giving here. Excellent work! Quote
KlodsBrik Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 Everything i want to say about this superb build have already been said. LOVE IT ! Quote
Blufiji Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 This is outstanding work. The interior and the pull out rooms are perfect. Quote
Kai NRG Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 The pull out rooms are just ingenious! The way you did the bed covers on the room with the little guy sweeping is great - the subtle offset is a perfect solution! Excellent work on the outside too - the textures and color are spot on and lots of neat little details to look at - really like that cherry tree! Quote
soccerkid6 Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 It turned out well, if I do say so myself! Some of my favorite designs: the cape door and awning, the awning over the main door using 4L bars as supports, the sign, and of course the slide out rooms. Definitely will use that design again in the future Quote
Gideon Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 This is truly an awesome build, can't stop looking (and getting inspired by ) at all those details! I especially like the cloth awning, furniture in the interiors and the little cart by the well (how did you build that...?). The photography is very good, I love the angle in the close-up of the soldiers! I'm however not sure if you got the white balance (or maybe color saturation?) right, especially the first picture has the tan looking more to the grayish side (I first thought the build was white and gray). The second last picture however has the tan looking just right, maybe it has something about that you were using a white background then? Quote
