kiwileaguefan Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 Hey Everyone, I am new here, and me and my son have recently purchased 7939, 7938, and 3677 which we thoroughly enjoy. What i wanted to know, is there anywhere you can purchase just the wagons from the sets? I live in New Zealand so found it very hard to find any on sale on trade websites. Had a look at Ebay, but unfortunately shipping is more than the price of a wagon! Thanks in advance for your advice. Quote
Steinkopf Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 To be frank you would be far better off getting parts from Bricklink and make your own, that way you can make what you want to have as opposed to buying only what is available, I have at least 40 wagons that I have built over the years and on average cost me half of what it would to buy a wagon from a set, this is despite the fact my models are generally more detailed compared to standard sets. Here is a link to some of the stuff I have built . Quote
jrathfon Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 Railbricks is a good source for instructions. The instructions also outline the parts needed, so you can bricklink them. http://railbricks.com/instructions/ Quote
dr_spock Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 You can download LEGO train sets instructions from LEGO.com or Brickset.com. I think you can use Rebrickable to get list of parts if you want to make a list by hand. Also there are LEGO Digital Designer models of LEGO sets on Eurobricks, you can get a part list out of LDD. Then buy the pieces to make from various sources like LEGO.com, Bricklink, local sellers, etc. You'll have to compare to see which one is the better deal for NZ. There are tools like Brickeffiency to narrow down Bricklink sellers with the parts. Quote
