Dang it! I spent an hour picking out parts, and when I went to checkout, there was an error.  When I tried again, immediately afterward, the Mr. T hair was sold out! There's still a bunch of licensed stuff.  Just no more Mr. T hair.

In addition to the above mentioned parts, I found a few pieces I hadn't seen on B&P before: the torso from the Fantastic Beasts female lead (Tina, maybe?), E.T.'s number pad, the Lego Batman Movie Robin torso, TLBM Batgirl's face, and TLBM Catwoman's torso.  There's also still stuff that's been available for a long time, like Finn's jacket or Mighty Micros Wonder Woman's torso.

Han Solo's new hair is probably the most interesting piece I was able to snag; I really liked Luke's recent hairpiece, so I'm curious to see if Han's affords the same types of opportunities.

How do you guys do all the searching on Bricks & Pieces for parts?

The way I do it is that I went through all the parts under http://brickset.com/browse/parts (which presumably covers every part in the database) and made a list of all the parts I wanted (just under 350 on the list as of right now) then when I want to order I take the list and figure out what items are actually for sale right now. A little check to make sure they aren't obscenely expensive compared to Bricklink then I start narrowing it down to the specific set of parts I want to order at that point.

The "Date Added" section on BL is how I keep track of anything new in the database since I wrote my list (make sure I update the list with anything new that I want)

Wait, you've gone through all the parts on Brickset? That's about 30000 parts! *huh*

What I do: I browse all the sets of the current year (and the year prior) on Brickset, search the ones that potentially contain interesting parts. While doing that, I sometimes pick out individual elements to see what colours they are available in.

I just search by set number from the sets I know have pieces I want.

90% of the time it was immediately obvious from the thumbnail whether or not the part was something I cared about so it was fairly easy to do what I did :)

The way bl prices are formed can be annoying.  For example, a part introduced in a new colour for the first time will often not reach the same high prices as if the same part was previously retired.  Parts which reach high prices due to rarity, tend to stay up even after the part is reintroduced.  (example: brick hinge bases 3937 in tan) Avg. price $ 3.9, just because it used to be rare at some point. B&P doesn't base prices on supply & demand, so isn't affected by price adaptation lag.

What were the Design IDs of the samurai armor, black skeletons, black sword, gold sword?

I gave up trying to look for the samurai armor after always seeing it out of stock. I currently have red Nadakhan armor for my samurai helmet/mask combo.

I tried to make the Nadakhan sword, but with the axe blades on, it's gigantic and hard to hold, and the handle is too short.

The purple (skeletor!) hood is gone now...

I was only allowed to buy one on the website last night, so I must've grabbed one of the last available. Most Nexo Knights figs are available in completion, probably since the line seems to be getting canned. Several pieces from the Guardians of the Galaxy sets are available, including torsos. The new "Superman hair swoosh" piece is available in several colors, and the Elves sets have a good variety of items. There's definitely plenty to find with a little searching currently.

Question.

(1) Is this list of parts constantly being updated with new parts being added every now and then?

(2) Are these components mostly minifig related or are there "licensed" parts such as printed bricks and pieces, and parts and colors unique to some sets as of the time being?

(1) As you can see, the first post had been last edited on July 19th, 2016, so no, the is no list being updated.

(2) There surely is a heavy minifigure relation as most licensed parts are figs. But other parts are also mentioned here.

Cool, thanks. I was hoping for nexogons, but it appears Lego is still using them elsewhere. Which is good cause it means Lego won't discontinue the part anytime soon.

I've been using Lego Digital Designer to either preview a part to get a 360 degree view to see if it's what I need or use the Export BOM to get the Design ID after locating the part I need in LDD.

With the samurai armor, I think I didn't think I found it because I think the image is of the back, so I thought it wasn't the armor with the opening at the collar area to accommodate ninja hoods. Too bad B&P doesn't let you rotate the view like PAB does.

I also found it odd that they show the samurai armor in what I would consider 'backwards' orientation. (Just put in an order for mostly hairpieces I don't have.) But, since LEGO has never made an armor piece like that with both sides closed, I figured it was the right one. Still strange that it shows up like that.

I'll try and do a pic when my order arrives. This thread and Exetrius' picture gave me the hankering that led to my order in the first place!
