I once bought 40 of the boxes of capes from 76056 Batman: Rescue from Ra's al Ghul. I was after green standard capes for my elves, and the only way I could do it was purchase the whole box, which contained the standard green cape, the small neck cape, and Batman's and Robin's capes. I think it was about £1.80 / $2 for each box, which was not bad as I sold off the Batman and Robin ones as I had no use for them. Thanks for the tip. I'll try that once all my B&P items arrive. UPDATE: I got this just this morning... The LEGO® bricks listed below aren't available, so we've had to cancel them from your order. A technical error made them appear in the Bricks & Pieces assortment and we've corrected this error now. We're really sorry about this disappointing news. If these were replacements for lost parts, of course you won't be charged for them: Credit or debit card payment: your bank will release the purchase amount for which we authorized your card when you placed your order. Gift Card or Electronic Gift Card payment: we'll return the funds to your card. Payment with VIP points: we'll return the points to your VIP account. Kind regards, Your LEGO Customer Service We've cancelled the following bricks: How many? Don’t reply to this email because your message won’t be accepted by our system. If you think you've received this message in error, please let us know immediately. The other items seems to have pushed through so far (though my main order had "In Process" -> "Backordered" -> "Warehouse" -> and now it's mix of the first two. I'm waiting for as to how many more elements they'll cancel as time goes by. I can hope. I have noticed that there were fewer pieces recently, like one of the Ninjago/elf dual tone polearms was no longer up. Should have ordered it when I had the chance! And yes, they did have that element available for sale previously... now they say it's unavailable-- though the Customer Rep said I could get 10 for free for the trouble so they do have them in stock but won't sell it now?!?! The green sprig appears as "Backordered" on my order form as well. Edited September 9, 2019 by Clahador Quote
jonwil Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 I do wonder if the reason the site is disabled is because they have all these parts in their database that are marked as "in stock" when in fact they either don't have the part or they have it but aren't allowed to sell it (and hence they need to clean up the database before they have all these people ordering things that they then can't actually sell) Quote

For all we know, the fact that we ourselves now have a database of parts that listed their outdated inventory and the community started to order those said parts in bulk, they closed the system. MAB Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 Something similar happened a few years back. I once ordered 200 of these: at ~50p each. They were only available in the Inside Tour sets but appeared available on B+P. There was also a lot of new parts in that order. They cancelled it and the site was down for a few days around that time too. It looks like they have made the same mistake again, allowing new parts to become available when they should not have. BacktoBricks Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 Anybody else unable to get onto the Lego website at all. I'm getting Access Denied even after clearing all browser data. :( Quote

Anonknee Muss Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 Working fine for me. This new system and all sounds terrible! I’ve not really used it that much. I hope it gets resolved. Quote

TJJohn12 Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 Placed an online order two weeks ago for a bevy of parts for a MOC, as well as some impulse parts here and there. Of everything, only two parts got cancelled out: 2x4 tiles printed with “Magic Carpet” from a Disney friends set and a pearl gold spears. No biggie - they were both impulse buys. Still playing the waiting game now for the parts to finally show up. Quote

MKJoshA Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 Just placed an order for about $40 worth of parts. The only issue I had was when I clicked "Pay with Paypal." It flashed an error but kept me on the same screen. I was able to proceed with Credit Card payment with no issues. Just received the confirmation email from Lego saying they got my order. Now to see if they cancel any part of my order. Quote
jonwil Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 Time to jump in on an order I think and hope it doesn't get shut down again or otherwise screw up before I can place the order... Maybe if I get the order in fast enough it will arrive by the end of the month :) Quote
jonwil Posted September 11, 2019 Posted September 11, 2019 Finished my checks, 3 parts have gone to "out of stock" and a couple of interesting parts are in stock (either previously out of stock or new to my list). The black round "bomb" piece from the Joker 4+ set is now showing up as for sale (it wasn't before) The 1 x 2 brick with horizontal and vertical grooves in dark red (from the Disney train) is available for sale, as are dark pink legs, blue roller skates, and bright light blue short legs. Now to turn my list into a couple of orders (2 at least, possibly 3) and hope the parts I am ordering (most of which are used in sets dated 2019 or 2018) are actually in stock :) Quote
Pchan1983 Posted September 11, 2019 Posted September 11, 2019 OK i just placed a big order for army building. It went through to getting order number. Not yet appear in my order status yet. Finger crossed! Quote
Gomek Posted September 11, 2019 Posted September 11, 2019 Bricks and Pieces appears back up in the US. I haven't tried to place an order yet. Quote
Brick Cucumber Posted September 11, 2019 Posted September 11, 2019 (edited) Weird that the F.R.I.E.N.D.S Ideas set is already on the site... I thought they updated that at the beggining of the next month! Shame none of the new torso's or heads are available. Edited September 11, 2019 by Brick Cucumber Quote
jonwil Posted September 11, 2019 Posted September 11, 2019 Being licensed I doubt the minifig parts from the FRIENDS set will appear on B&P. Quote

jonwil Posted September 11, 2019 Posted September 11, 2019 So it turns out that "I have most of the parts and can buy the rest from B&P/BL" doesn't necessarily mean you get the bargain you were expecting when its a set with over 4000 pieces and you still need over 1000 to complete the set... Quote

I think "most" has to be 97% to make this type of thing worth it. I've been building a few models off of other peoples MOC instructions on YouTube. I've found it really necessitates getting creative and figuring out substitutes (mostly color) otherwise it just wouldn't be worth it. Quote
jonwil Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 In the end I decided to just go for it and pick up the whole roller coaster set before it disappears for good (or at least from anywhere that might actually have it cheaper than RRP) Quote

It *really* depends on what the parts you're missing are and how they compare on Bricklink. A good "for instance" is that if you were trying to build a Cinderella Castle, the Light Grey Round Walls (3X6X6) are excruciatingly expensive on BL. But on B&P they're a steal - 1/5th the price. 16 hours ago, J4ck said: They add the inventory of the sets within 2 days of official set release. Quote
jonwil Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 (edited) Buying the parts from B&P (ignoring BL and not counting the sticker sheet, the 2x3 medium blue tile or the red unprinted head all 3 of which B&P wont sell me) would have cost me around $391 based on Aussie B&P pricing (not far off the $400 I actually paid for the set). Now BL would have brought that down a fair bit but probably not enough to make it worth doing (especially when shipping costs from B&P and multiple BL stores are all factored in) vs just buying the whole thing and getting brand new LEGO with the stickers and instructions and box and everything. I wonder if the piano keys tile from the Friends set (and that purple Metalbeard mech) is considered IP locked or if its actually "out of stock" and will be available later.
