I think I said it before but no one needs 200 baby cows or sheep. 25 per order would be great. No doubt that would require a new system to be developed. They currently have a 200 limit on every part, per order. To start to implement different limits on different items would mean that they have to introduce a limit variable for every part, and that needs to be set and maintained if it is to change with time. They would also need to track parts quantities ordered in the past to make a lifetime limit have any sense. Otherwise, people would just place multiple orders one after the other with 25 of multiple parts. While it might make sense to do limits for sets, doing it across multiple 1000s of parts seems overkill, especially as it is not really a problem for most parts. I had to wait for BF torsos to come back in stock at a reasonable time of day for me to order them, but eventually they did. I'm happy with that arrangement, as I'm happy to wait and get them when I can rather than expect to get them straight away or not get them at all. If they can predict which ones would sell out fast and hence impose limits on them, then there are alternatives they could use - they could price them much higher or they could choose not to list them at all, forcing people to buy the sets instead. The limit is also debatable. Why does anyone need 25 of an animal or torso? [Obviously the answer is "army" building, where army could mean an army, or flock, or any multiple use.] Why not go lower at 10. And if it is OK for them to have 25, why should someone else not have 50 for a build twice as big. And if it is OK for them, then why not 100, and so on. I need to hit £50 for free shipping. That is quite easy for expensive parts - it is about 60 torsos. If there is a limit of 25 per torso, I'd order 25 of three torsos, or 25 of two and some heads. Then I'd place the same order again. Then again. And again. Even their current set ordering system cannot tell how many you have ordered in the past at the time of placing an order. Orders are checked after being placed. If they are going to implement such limits, they are going to need to automate those checks somehow, or the imposed limits would have no effect. People that know how to get around them will, and the people that abide by them will feel hard done by. When they did those 2p gold parts, one day I placed five orders for 400 of each part using the 200+200 trick, then added about £15 worth of torsos or other parts and a CMF to get free shipping at the £50 threshold. Even with limits in place, that was 2000 of each part ordered in a day. Smaug got a nice pile of gold to sit on. Unless they implement some way of checking past orders, limits mean nothing. Quote
Maple Posted January 10, 2023 Posted January 10, 2023 You don't need a new system. They already have a bestseller and standard, the bricks change, they don't have a new system every time they change. You just make animals and minifigure parts have a much smaller limit and basic pieces have a higher limit. It shouldn't be that difficult. However this is LEGO and they still don't have a way to get rid of Duplo bricks. Quote
eldiano Posted January 10, 2023 Posted January 10, 2023 (edited) They already have an amazing system in place… in case members forgot the “missing” bricks section limits bricks by the amounts they come in kits meaning if only 5 3026’s are available then that’s it, they can limit the threshold any day of the week but they understand they need to make money by limiting 200 per person honestly. Not to mention the missing bricks has every single brick available at any time per kit as well. too bad we can’t buy them all and are limited to pick a brick quite honestly, I honestly buy for personal use, the biggest problem for pick a brick in reality are the army builders that buy and hoard every single 200 of each order and resell them on their brick links stores… like others have said and myself life was good with pick a brick and bricks and pieces circa 2021, I stocked up on soooo many Lego goods it was golden now they made the system 500% worse believe me. It took a massive nose dive and buried its head in the sand and so far it’s been digging down further in the sand for the time being. Edited January 10, 2023 by eldiano Quote

If they want to use 200, let them buy 200. That is also far more efficient for picking too, so probablyfavourablefor LEGO. LEGO sells 200 in one go. Much better than locating then picking 200 different parts. For me the system was at its peak about 2014-15. Loads of licensed heads and torsos and other parts like Saruman's skirt piece and the palantir, and torsos were about 60% of the price now. Plus easy to buy capes in any number you wanted. And pricing errors meaning you could fairly frequently get parts for free or very low cost. The number of licensed parts that slip through is minimal now. Quote

I don’t have a problem with army builders per se, it’s the ones that buy in bulk to resell in brick link, theres’ a few that brag about it on other groups and quite honestly I’m kind of glad Lego is going through these problems because that means it’s throwing them off so US loyalists who really do want the pieces and parts can get them before they do hehe Quote
RichardGoring Posted January 11, 2023 Posted January 11, 2023 I recently bought 75 of the rubber duckies and 75 candy canes from the BAM station. I felt a bit bad, but I did it over several trips and either months or a week after release. But I wanted them for customizing the bonsai tree into autumn and winter variants. So I can see why people might want to get a boat load of something for an odd purpose. I'd love the availability of parts on PAB to be better though. And the ability to backorder them would be awesome. Quote
Megbricks Posted January 11, 2023 Posted January 11, 2023 Just a quick question… why is everyone talking about 200?? I don’t get the max reached message until 999. I’ve ordered 400-500 of one piece before. just curious why you guys seem to have a limit of 200?! Update: i just ordered 300 profile bricks. Weird Quote
Lemerbrix Posted January 11, 2023 Posted January 11, 2023 Does anyone know how to get spare sticker sheets for 2023 sets, particularly autumns house Quote

Weird Because 200 is the limit per element for what is now called the "Standard" PAB, the one that is shut down over Christmas/New Year. Where most of the more interesting parts live. The "Bestseller" does not have a 200 limit and is available all year. Quote

If a part is not coming back in stock for another month, then there is a chance that other parts in the order will go out of stock in that time. If that happens, then they have to wait until that part comes back into stock, and there is a chance the other part goes out of stock. OR they pick part an order, then store it - very unlikely as very inefficient especially for handpicked orders. OR they send part of an order, then other parts as they come into stock - again very unlikely as postage costs increase linearly with the number of envelopes sent. Quote

I haven't ordered more than 200 of an element recently so I can't speak from personal experience but I don't believe this is the case since the merger. For instance I know people who successfully purchased 999 nets when the price error was live. Quote

I wouldn't recommend lying to Lego period, as it's against terms of service and can get you blacklisted if found out... and they will - eventually - find out. Cheaters never prosper, after all. Quote

Cheaters never prosper, after all. Indeed, don't lie. Contact their support via chat and ask -- very nicely -- if there's any way you can purchase an extra sticker sheet for that set. You may have to mention that you haven't been able to find one at a reasonable price on bricklink. They will often, depending on the person you get, send you one or two for free. Don't abuse the service. I haven't done this in a long time, but it worked in the 90s when I was a child and wanted some out of production pieces, and I've heard of others doing it more recently (specifically I saw someone get the castle in the forest sticker sheet for free). Again, don't abuse the service or it will go away. Quote
eldiano Posted January 11, 2023 Posted January 11, 2023 (edited) Spare stickers are incredibly easy to get though, to be honest Lego does a terrible job of quality control sometimes and they will arrive completely bent or already damaged out of box, that’s a valid complaint that will get you another sheet though. Only the expensive sets have carded manuals and stickers Edited January 11, 2023 by eldiano Quote
Lemerbrix Posted January 11, 2023 Posted January 11, 2023 (edited) Thanks everyone, I couldn’t find a way to get the stickers, so I just said that I was missing them, oh well edit: Lego responded, stating that the stickers weren’t available yet, I’ll check back in march Edited January 12, 2023 by Lemerbrix Quote

RichardGoring Posted January 12, 2023 Posted January 12, 2023 If we're talking about replacement parts, how long before it's not fair to ask for them. I have about 15 1x1 and 1x2 dark red tiles from the Fire Brigade modular, and maybe six reddish brown plates of various sizes from Metalbeard's Sea Cow that are broken (assembled one and disassembled the other recently). Would it be fair to ask for replacements for those, or should I just buy them? Quote
Maple Posted January 12, 2023 Posted January 12, 2023 You can literally just ask LEGO for an extra sticker sheet saying you think each set should have extras because they are hard to apply. I'm sure they will gladly sending you a few a year and you won't need to lie. If they find out you are lying they will NEVER send you another piece, even if it's damaged. It's not worth the risk for some stickers. Quote
Roebuck Posted January 12, 2023 Posted January 12, 2023 One guy in Norway was complaining a lot about boxes not being in mint condition when they arrived. He complained on everything from a banged up box to minor scratches in one corner and finally Lego told him they could not live up to his expectations and banned him So be happy that Lego has such amazing CS and use them when you have a real issue, do not treat them as your personal slave or a way to get free Lego you are not entitled to.. The old reddish brown thing is a real problem. I was recently moving some of my sets and disassembled my Temple of Airjitzu which had been assembled in a display case since I bought it in 2015. Big mistake, as the big reddish brown wedges that make up the floors cracked right to hell. Is it fair to request new ones after all this time? (The piece did come in a 2022 set). Quote
