karrit Posted May 30, 2023 Posted May 30, 2023 I find it a bit interesting with some of the new items being added to PAB. I thought when they started the whole revamp of the service last year that they said they were trying to standardize the prices of the parts being offered so that different colors of the same part wouldn't be priced differently. Not that I'm complaining about the lower prices on some new parts but the prices are all over the place when they are adding new colors. For example the carrot top piece in Bright Yellowish Green is listed at $.06 while the older colors are all $.07. And the bush piece in Reddish Brown is listed for $.87 while the older green colors are both listed at $1.01. Quote

Older parts still in stock may have had higher costs when produced, and they want to maintain certain profit margins on that old stock? But yes, it is a bit odd. Quote
RichardGoring Posted May 30, 2023 Posted May 30, 2023 Does anyone think that the Hogwarts Express train wheels (90840) will come onto PAB at some point. I'd love four of them for the DeLorean to convert to the BTTF Part III rail version, and pondering a Bricklink order. Always feels odd when some sellers have hundreds of this exclusive to a $500 set part. Quote
Bugbot20082 Posted May 30, 2023 Posted May 30, 2023 Just did an order, got myself the double bass from the jazz club for my music shop Also lots of the flesh faces from the football set Quote
Lemerbrix Posted June 5, 2023 Posted June 5, 2023 In 9 days it will have been a month since my bricks and pieces order, no new pieces in it btw, just some bulk cool yellow and medium azure slopes Quote

Clone OPatra Posted June 5, 2023 Posted June 5, 2023 In my experience of Bricks & Pieces (now Pick a Brick), this is just how it is. It's not a fast service. Personally, I feel anyone annoyed by that just isn't going in with the right expectations. If you want some parts fast or on a particular timeline, yes this isn't a service for you. If you just want stuff, and whenever it comes it comes, it's absolutely fine. You place your order, forget about it, and eventually it arrives. Quote

Maple Posted June 5, 2023 Posted June 5, 2023 It's never taken less than 2 months for me to get an order, the last one was almost three months. But as people here who get their orders in a couple of weeks say, you don't like it, don't use it, but no complaining! Quote

Those are the people who live in Europe I think, there was a point in time last year were it legit took about a week turn around from Europe to the US, this year the longest order took about two months for me. Such is life Quote

Uh huh, ok. I currently in Australia and orders take up to two months to arrive from the date I ordered. I used to live in the US and orders took up to two months there too. And yes, I still say, don't like it, don't use it. It's the service LEGO provides, on the timeline LEGO provides it. Complaining about it is indeed futile, because it's like complaining about any company not offering any service you want them to offer, even if they never said they would. It's like going to a high cuisine restaurant, where the expectation is that it'll take them 40 minutes to get your order out to you, and complaining they didn't bring it to you in five minutes like fast food. The service isn't the problem. Your attitude towards it is. Quote

TeriXeri Posted June 5, 2023 Posted June 5, 2023 (edited) Even in Europe, it's estimated 28 days to get non-bestseller parts. I did order some pieces back in September last year , which did take exactly 28 days to arrive. I haven't ordered recently but I do notice a lot more parts did get moved to Bestseller. Into the US (and I assume other non-European parts of the world), they send out lots of orders in a large batch to the destination country, and then from there it's split into local deliveries. The timing from when it leaves the LEGO warehouse (and you get the invoice) to arrival can be very variable. I choose to look at it as a nice surprise. Can be a bit painful sometimes when you're waiting for something for a MOC though! Quote
MKJoshA Posted June 6, 2023 Posted June 6, 2023 I always accept that it could be 2 months or more before an order arrives when I order from PAB. But my issue is that they state shorter times on their website. If a company promises a timeline to you, then it's fair to expect that timeline to be met. If they can't meet their own deadline then they need to rethink what they promise to their customers. I'm still waiting for my Jan order to arrive. After it finally shipped it apparently got rejected at customs and no one knows why. So I still don't have my Lion Knight pieces. Some of that is out of Lego's hands. But it's still been almost 6 months since my initial order. If they had shipped it by boat it would have been faster Quote

Sorry to hear that your order was messed up at customs. Quote

It's quite interesting how US customs is all of a sudden involved with action figures and toys. There's a time window where if your package has not arrived they legit WILL create a new order number and put you back in the line in waiting for the same parts you already ordered, this happened to me.
