Zarkan Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 Today... Brawl is finally MINE. >:-) And man, is it ever good! I must have spent three hours or so playing it (that's a LOT for someone like me). As we all suspected, it feels like Melee on steroids and with a mega load of new content. Some observations: - Computers are smarter than in the previous two games. In the original, computers were wusses and spent the majority of the time doging, and in Melee, they spent so much time on the offensive that it was easy to get them to walk into attacks. But in Brawl, it seems that they finally have a good balance in the computers. Level 9's are both good at offense and defense, attacking hard and doging frequently. I have my work cut out for me.... |-/ ;-) - Subspace Emmisary ROCKS! Great cutscenes, lots of combat and platforming, and character team-ups never seen before in the history of video games! The cutscenes are particuarly amazing - they look like they should belong in a high end CGI movie instead of a video game. *sweet* - Graphics are stunning - best on the Wii as of now, and that may not change for a while. Practically everything that could be detailed on the characters is super pretty. Of course, this means that Kirby and Pikachu still are really cartoony, but you can't really avoid that in any way. :-P - You can get smash coins a LOT easier in this game, and they come in greater quantities. This is good, because you need a ton in the Coin Shooter, possibly the single most amazing addition in Brawl. Okay, maybe not, but I am seriously obsessed with this little thing. Combining space shooters with trophy collecting works perfectly, and it's extremely addicting. *wub* Yeah, my day was busy. :-P Quote

iamded Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 (edited) Just clocked Quake 4, and when I feel like playing another FPS I always have Doom 3 waiting to be installed... they should be very similar, considering Quake 4 runs on the Doom 3 engine. X-D ~Peace Edited March 22, 2008 by iamded Quote

M'Kyuun Posted March 22, 2008 Posted March 22, 2008 Playing Bioshock through for the second time. Great game. Loved its "spiritual" predecessor, System Shock 2, and this game shares many of the features that made SS2 a cult classic. Quote

ExoBuilder Posted March 22, 2008 Posted March 22, 2008 Playing Bioshock through for the second time. Great game. Loved its "spiritual" predecessor, System Shock 2, and this game shares many of the features that made SS2 a cult classic. I just started BioShock as well. It's a freaking creepy game, first game I'm scared to play! :-D I'm also playing Gears of War, that is an excellent game. I highly recommend it to anyone. *y* *y* *sweet* Quote
Scouty Posted March 22, 2008 Posted March 22, 2008 Pirates of the Burning Sea... Arrrrr! Also Medal of Honor for the Wii. I think I'm on the last level in campaign. I get jumpy everytime I get asploded by a mine. It scares me very much. Quote

Co-op play is very fun too, and makes fighting General RAAM, the final boss, a lot easier. :-D Ah, gotta love chainsawing people. Can't wait for Gears 2 to come out. :-D Note: Link contains mild profanity... EDIT: Oh right! On topic, I'm playing Doom 3. The first game that's made me jump whilst playing it. Except Half-life 2, when that zombie jumped out at me... and Quake 4 when that dude jumped out at me... and Diablo 2... and Viva Piñata... ~Peace Edited March 22, 2008 by iamded Quote
