If we'll be running the next MRCA using it already(no idea if that will happen), it might be a good idea to release the rules now so everyone can start making plans, getting estimates for their ships done (even though a couple of them might sink - would still be a good idea) and so on. I think it would, most likely, quite messy if we only have 2 or 3 weeks after the release of the rules until the actual MRCA. Also, any rule to how many unused licenses (captures) a player can hold at a time? There is no rule on how many unused licenses can be held. I can't give a definite date, if we feel we are close enough by the end of the month, then we may forgo a mid-april MRCA and run the MRCA II at the end of the month. I think that is the earliest you can expect MRCA II. However, we will take your point into consideration and try to give enough time for everyone to see the new rule-set more than a few weeks before launch. Quote
Legostone Posted April 2, 2017 Posted April 2, 2017 @SkaForHire Any update now? April has started ;) Also, can the Fort facts thread be unpinned and just remain linked in the BOBS index thread? I think almost everyone should know by now, and less pinned topics helps with readability. Quote
LucasLaughing Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 Calling all builders - do you want to try your hand at a Star Wars MOC, without the commitment of signing up for another Eurobricks RPG? Shadows of Nar Eurbrikka is looking for builders to help us out with an upcoming episode. The episode should launch in the next week or two, and players will have 4-6 weeks to finish their builds. The game takes place in the 'Original Trilogy' timeframe, between 'Empire Strikes Back' and 'Return of the Jedi'. Let me know if you're interested, and we'll give you all the details in a PM. @SkaForHire - if there's a better place to post this so that BoBS builders can see it, please feel free to move / change it. Thank you! Quote

Maxim I Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 (edited) I have to admit I am not looking forward anymore to update the Ships of BoBs. Do I have the permission to create a topic, similar to the settlement index where everyone can have their own post they have to keep updating? The post can keep track of characters and vessels. Bregir Posted April 24, 2017 Posted April 24, 2017 Dear all, Feel like you want to try some different themes without having to commit to a new community? We are hosting a collab with Star Wars themed Shadows of Nar Eurbrikka, who asks us to build for the Black Sun crime syndicate, competing with the two player factions (Rebels and Empire) for control of the galaxy. Head over to this thread to see what it is all about. All participating BoBS players will get a small prize, with larger prizes for the best and second-best entry. May the force be with you! Quote
Legostone Posted April 27, 2017 Posted April 27, 2017 With the new MRCA supposedly "right around the corner", is there any reason to license ships right now or should we wait until the new rules are announced? @SkaForHire Also, when can we expect the MRCA results for the current one? I need to know how my other ships are doing... Quote
Bregir Posted April 27, 2017 Posted April 27, 2017 I would suggest holding back further licenses until it is announced which system the next MRCA will run under :) Quote
Legostone Posted April 27, 2017 Posted April 27, 2017 With the new system for taxation and the removal of half the license cost going to the faction, do we pay the same price as before or the half the price as before? And, following this, do the Sea Rats still get a lower price for their ships? Quote

But rather than x % going into faction coffers, they are taken out of the game. Quote
Kolonialbeamter Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 To all subjects and citizens of the Brick Seas, listen up! For the start of Era II we are looking to come up not only with cool new features, but also with a BoBS logo and a banner. And for this venture we want your help! If you have a cool design idea, don't hesitate - show us what you got! Or describe what you think could be awesome, and enable your fellow BoBS'ers to help design it! In terms of a logo we are looking for something that could be 'stamped' onto images of BoBS creations - fairly simple, yet cool and easily recognizable as 'BoBS-ish' - staying in character, we are pirating yet another idea from the Guilds of Historica here And banner wise... well, it's at least for the Master Index, so it's time to impress Discuss and contribute here. Btw, anyone here who can beat me at 6 vessels with an average value of 300 DB lost? We are hoping to have something automatic some time in the future. The administrative "burden" of being a BoBS player is already considerable, and another index to maintain for players is going to increase it, which is out main concern. In conclusion: We have not come to a clear conclusion to this, but Maxim (or anyone else) is welcome to start such a topic. However, participation will be strictly voluntary, as we do not want to force players to do more work. As to losses, I am not sure about my tally, but I know the otter has been sunk 3 or 4 mrca's in a row.... :P Quote

Let's wait until all initial questions are answered and it's clear to all what licenses their ships will get. Besides, we have to wait until the forms are up anyway. Let's not rush it - we do have some time ;) 17 minutes ago, Maxim I said: one can have captured licences, but as long as they are not activated, they don't count toward your ship level? Licenses alone don't matter, only once you have a ship (ship-MOC + license) the ship level limitations come into play. So in short, yes, you are right :) Quote
Legostone Posted May 14, 2017 Posted May 14, 2017 (edited) I won a class 4 of any kind in CH4B, and I was told it was all free, not counting towards limits. Does that still apply? Also, is there free upkeep for the free ship? Edited May 14, 2017 by Legostone Quote

Legostone Posted May 14, 2017 Posted May 14, 2017 Damn, upkeep is pretty crazy with the new system... At least it is only calculated for the active ships. Quote

Given that I don't redistribute my fleet (which might be a good idea) I'm sitting at ~500 DBs in upkeep if all MY ships are running. @Bregir Btw, for future MRCA - will it be possible to get the MRCA result as a .xls or google sheet? It would make working with small fleets much easier. Edited May 14, 2017 by Legostone Quote
