OoC: Could you clarify how we're supposed to know what's going on, but don't know what "Bruce" is?

"Pardon me fer askin' captain, but how do ya intend to bring the beast down?" Skrall notes the swarming fish in the sea, "If those things are swimmin' away from the monster, I imagine we'll have company soon enough."

"With this!" Captain Quinton hoisted his silver harpoon above his head with his hand, his other hooked hand stroking it.

Hearing Ellaria's call to the captain, Nur hopped up on the port side of the boat and peered down. Using animalism he cried out to any of the sea creatures that would answer. <"You there! What are you fleeing from? Anyone?! Hey! These here who walk on two limbs are here to help!">

Through rough seas, the crow hears not screams of terror, but an uprising of hungry murmurs and moans from the sea, craving for meat and flesh.

"There is something in the water, port side, captain! Looks like a dorsal fin!" Ellaria called back.

Captain Quinton prepares his harpoon, his steely gaze monitoring the port side of the ship.

"Alright then, lets see if we can illuminate the situation a bit." Thalion casts a hovering ball of light.

Lifting the ball above him, Thalion illuminates the area around the boat at the expense of one ether.

Directly from the bow of the boat, two mountainous dorsal fins emerge from beneath the dark churning waters, as a massive maw the width of the longboat opens, it's mouth filled with teeth the size of daggers. Captain Quinton's head turns at attention, stepping back with his harpoon. The creature snaps down, crushing the front of the boat and grabbing Quinton's legs in it's mouth before dragging him down back into the water.

"Flagh! Glagh!" Blood erupted from his mouth as Quinton tried to struggle to remove himself from the beasts jaws. Quinton's screams and shouts of agony fill the air briefly until he is dragged down, the sea turning a dark shade of red. The boat began taking in the blood stained water as a flash of lightning struck across the sky.

A shallow sandbar illuminated across the ocean. If the remaining crew could get there, they might have a chance at survival.

"Agreed, we go into the drink, we're in whatever-that-is's territory. Better we get something solid underneath our feet, either ice or that island." Skrall nodded to the sandbar not far from the boat as he shoved a bolt into his crossbow.

Recalling the bridge between Baltarok and the High Kingdoms, Nerwen speaks to Thalion over her shoulder.

Thank you for the light Master Mage, but we need ice. Lots of it.

Thalion surrounds water around the ship in ice in an attempt to stabilize it, after the beast crushed it, and creates a bridge between the ship and the island, so the crew can get to dry land. "Quickly now!" He shouted at the crew.

He turned to other heroes, "Does anyone see the captain or that thing?"

Ellaria felt rather silly, as there was no "rowing boats", merely the ship they were on. Perhaps Ellaria forgot they were on a long boat?

Ellaria cannot see the monster in the water, but scraps of the captain's jacket floated to the surfaces, covered in blood.

It takes a lot of ether, but Thalion manages to expend enough ether to both stabilize the ship (3 ether) and create a bridge between the ship and the sandbar (5 ether). The party remembers being with crew members, but as soon as Thalion finishes the ice bridge, the crew are nowhere to be found.

Alfred steadied himself while cradling the crow as the ice took hold of the boat. "I cannot see the creature nor any of the crewmen. I find it difficult to take these illusions seriously. In the interest of prudence and self preservation-" Alfred and Nur move across the bridge and head to the sandbar.

Lithe and agile, Nerwen darts across the frosted surface, leaping onto the sandbar next to Skrall.

I expect we need to end the monster to end the story. Does anyone have something to lure it nearer?

Nerwen looked around at her fellow heroes on the sandbar, and then out to sea.

The water that had seemed so busy was now eerily still. There was no sign of the beast.

Perhaps a bone would lure the beast in?

The party crosses the ice in hopes of reaching the sandbar, the ice gurgling and creaking as they walk across. The layer is thick enough to support their weight, but they can see the various sea creatures follow them beneath the ice, knocking on the glass on occasion in order to get at their meaty flesh.

Directly in front of her. Jutting out of the ice a large dorsal fin swam towards the party as the ice around them began cracking; the various sea creatures breaking through and squirming to get a piece of the party.

OoC: Does Nur's Fire Amulet still do double damage versus beasts with the current weather condition? Orig Item description, Treasury description. I've never used it before so whatever you decide is fine.

Nerwen checked her equipment.

Being in her fourth decade of experience she could use four items at once.

Lesser etherial cloak on her back, medal of valour on a fine chain around her neck, leather armour nestled snugly under her stunning dress and the counterstrike glove enchantment bound onto the bracelets around her wrists. She was ready for combat and looked fabulous.

Alright. Adding that to your inventory now. Same goes for everyone. I'll be adding your Grogmas items in the following round.

I'd rule that the amulet does regular damage, since the weather effect cancels out the double damage of amulet.
