KotZ Posted April 19, 2016 Author Posted April 19, 2016 Annie shuddered at the cannon fire and looked behind her, pulling out her telescope in an attempt to scope out the scene. Annie sees Calamity, Rex, the Captain, and Luke casting spells. Villagers are dropping the logs and running back to the town square. Clearly something is not right. Quote
The Chosen Minifigure Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 Warlen starts channeling a huge ball of fire as he follows Avalanche. Quote
KotZ Posted April 20, 2016 Author Posted April 20, 2016 The three heroes, Traci, Jackson and William rush over to the dock, scrambling past fleeing villagers. At the dock, they look out to the sea and see... "Damn it," the mayor mutters. "Calamity has set up some natural defenses with the rocks. It will slow them down, but it won't stop them." "We can't let them get inland," the captain informs everyone. "As soon as they hit the sand we'll need to give them all we got. They've never attacked us at the port head-on like this. Something has changed." Then, Captain Slate dashes over from his ship. "Mayor! We can't do anything from the beach. We need to stop them on the water, before they get to us." "Captain-" "Captain, it's not worth letting them get on land. As soon as they do, they'll split up into the forest and divide us. We have to get on The Golden Lotus and fight." Quote
Dragonfire Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 Avalanche's jaw sets, "I agree. We need to take the fight to them; they won't be expecting that." Quote
Kintobor Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 Catching up with the rest of the party, Annienal pulls out her telescope to assess the oncoming ship. "Don't run off on me like that, guys!" Quote
KotZ Posted April 20, 2016 Author Posted April 20, 2016 Catching up with the rest of the party, Annienal pulls out her telescope to assess the oncoming ship. "Don't run off on me like that, guys!" Annie sees the ship is filled with rage-filled warriors. Many had axes. One was shirtless and wielded two scimitars. The ship appeared slightly damaged. Quote
The Chosen Minifigure Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 Warlen starts channeling a huge ball of fire as he follows Avalanche. As everyone else talks, Warlen shoots the ball at the ship, then heads for the Golden Lotus. Quote
Kintobor Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 "Warlen!" Annie shouted. "Can you at least wait a minute so we can discuss a plan of action?" Quote
The Chosen Minifigure Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Warlen sighs, swings round, and comes back to the group sculling a Smelling Salts. "We have magic, and underwater rocks. We focus as much, if not more, on destroying their ship as we do on taking them down. If someone has a bow or something that Avalanche can use, that's great. Otherwise, here you go, Avalanche, you're on support duty. I don't expect you to use it all," says Warlen, handing him his Healing Staff, Electro Bomb (25 electric damage to all enemies, bomb), Frostbite Capsule (10 ice damage, bomb), and 8 Bones. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 "What took you guys so long?" Calamity aims a bolt of darkness magic at the shirtless man in particular. Quote
KotZ Posted April 21, 2016 Author Posted April 21, 2016 As everyone else talks, Warlen shoots the ball at the ship, then heads for the Golden Lotus. "What took you guys so long?" Calamity aims a bolt of darkness magic at the shirtless man in particular. Both Warlen and Calamity's shots miss the ship, both flying over the bow. (Both characters rolled a 5, acting as a miss) "I have ballistae on the ship that can be used." "Uh, guys, hate to be a downer," Rex begins, "but the longer we wait, the closer the ship will come. If we don't meet the enemy on the sea, we won't be able to damage the ship enough before it makes landfall." Rex peers back out and his face falls. "Look! It's already made it around one of the rocks Calamity placed." Quote
Kintobor Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 "I, um, don't know why we're firing stuff at the ship from this spot. Let's get onto the ship and meet them. Captain, permission to come aboard?" Quote
Dragonfire Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 "Thanks," Avalanche accepts Warlen's loaned items, "Now let's go!" Quote

Can both our Ballistas and the enemies Ballistas hit targets besides the ships? 3. Are certain enemies using ranged attacks? 1. Ignore the Chrysanthemum, fixing that now. That was for an older version of the quest, forgot to change it. 2. Yes, both sides' ballistae can hit characters, not just ships. 3. Yes. Whatever characters that do not have a "Note" by them can use long range/Free hits. Ex, the Raider Mage or Captain Luthan. Quote
