KotZ Posted February 26, 2016 Author Posted February 26, 2016 Avalanche's jaw drops; this was going to be a whole lot harder than he'd expected, "How many of the townspeople are the right age and physical condition to begin training? If those brigands attack, we won't be able to hold them back alone, assuming there's a whole shipload of them. When they come, everyone will need to be ready. Every man and woman of fighting age and good physical condition should be trained in the use of a wooden staff at least - shortswords for the most able ones, and bows for any who have some skill with them already. To beat those raiders, we're going to have to turn Tridentia's villagers into a fighting force." "I hope yo're able to do it. I know the mayor can swing a sword, but how good he is, I can't say. We'd be training hundreds of people, and I don't think any of us has any formal training except for me, and even then I wasn't very concerned with drills when I went to Trost Military Academy. We have four individuals who we can train to be better combatants because they at least have some amount of training. We can get them to a better position within a few days. However, going out into the woods to fight things isn't very helpful at all. They'll be facing people, not animals. Let's head out of here and speak to the captain. I think he's been going about this the wrong way as well." Quote

We should be training these four instead of focusing on a group of undertrained, um.... well, peasants. Captain, do you have a map to show us where these raiders last came from? If not, is there any area on the island that would allow the pirates to both land their boats and make it to town fairly quickly?
