Dragonfire Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 Avalanche shoulders his weapons and lets go of the ballista's trigger, satisfied at the comfortable victory. Eyeing the loot, he remarks, "Count me out of everything but the Skadi bomb, Neutraliser and Nostrum maybe - I'd be happy with any of them. I stole a good deal of gold this time, so that can be most of my loot." He hands Warlen back his bones and Frostbite Capsule. "Heroes," he spits, some blood coming along with it. "I hold no respect for your organization, but I'm not a fool to know when I've been beaten." Avalanche rests his paw on his halberd's blade, "Good. I don't like fools, they die far too quickly. I'm sure a... pragmatic fellow such as you would be most obliging in sharing a few... erm, details about you and your friends' involvement in this area?" Quote

Kintobor Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 Luthan tries to adjust his seating. "I was hired. Surprise, surprise. Some rich guy with something against this town. Paid us good." He looks over to his fallen friends and coughs up more blood. "Should've expected it would end like this one day. Friends dead all around you. You know, there's a situation like this coming for each of you someday. Would it be too much to ask for a health potion?" Annienal instinctively reaches for her satchel to grab a potion, but hesitates briefly, eventually pulling it out and holding it in her hands. She keeps it close, gripping the bottle. "... you can tell us who paid you to attack the town. Then you can have this." Annienal states. Quote

KotZ, I gave Warlen back the items he loaned me. Quote

Some wizard family. The Dens. Think I'm violent, take a look at them." He presses harder down on an injury. "Nice throw with that bomb, yeti. Right, Dens. Calder is the patriarch. He's got a soon, too, though he looks a little young to be his son." "I've been the commanding the troops harassing Tridentia. You just wiped out my men. No doubt the Dens will hire and send more. I'm betting it's going to be a small army; the wizard is rich. As for plans, I have no idea. Now can I have that potion?" Quote

"Just one more question: where are these Dens now? And do you know why they're so keen on taking the village? - it seems rather odd that a family of rich, powerful sorcerers would bother with a mere village when they could have far richer pickings..." "I know where the Dens are." Annienal replies, looking somewhat confused. "Last I saw them they were in Carthago, but I'm not entirely sure if they're still there. As to why they want the town, I don't know." Annienal tosses the potion to the Luthan. Edited May 20, 2016 by Kintobor Quote
KotZ Posted May 20, 2016 Author Posted May 20, 2016 Luthan greedily drinks down the health potion. He stands back up. "So what now? I can't pilot my ship alone." "Let's go back to the town square. I'm sure the mayor will have something to say. Any other thoughts, Heroes?" Quote
Kintobor Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 Luthan greedily drinks down the health potion. He stands back up. "So what now? I can't pilot my ship alone." "I, um, agree. You'll be coming with us into the harbour with myself onboard. We can toe your boat back. We'll figure something out once we get to port." Annienal states. "Hopefully something non-violent." "Let's go back to the town square. I'm sure the mayor will have something to say. Any other thoughts, Heroes?" "Nope, I'm ready to set sail. Sir, do you have any rope to tie Luthan's boat up?" Quote
KotZ Posted May 22, 2016 Author Posted May 22, 2016 We can toe your boat back. "That's a big foot." "Don't quit your day job, Rex." "We've got enough rope." He turns to his crewmembers and shouts out commands. The ships get underway and head back to port. Once there, all of the Heroes, Tridentian soldiers and their captive return to the town square. Before going, Traci brings some rope to tie Luthan's hands. "You've got nothing to worry about. I'd be a simpleton to try to escape now." Back in the town square... "So," the mayor begins, "this is who has been harrassing us." "As instructed by the Den clan." The mayor curses under his breath. "What would they want from us." The beaten raider only shrugs. "I'm not one for talking, so let's get to this. What will happen to me now?" Quote
Dragonfire Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 "I propose we keep him as a prisoner until we've dealt with the rest of the bandits, and then release him. Although he's probably telling the truth, we can't take too many chances." Quote
KotZ Posted May 22, 2016 Author Posted May 22, 2016 "I agree, Avalanche." He motions to Traci, Jackson and Captain Grayson. "Go put him in a cell until we can get him a trial." After the four of them walk off, William turns back to the Heroes. "We'll give him a fair trial, no worries. If he's smart, he'll give up some information. At worst he'll be executed, and I'm sure many of the villagers would like that. If he's lucky, he'll be exiled. There's a lot to prepare for on our end now." "What are we to do now?" "Go help Rex and Captain Slate. Let me finish up with the Heroes." Luke bows and heads off with Rex to the docks. "Thank you, Heroes." The mayor pulls out a coin purse of 600 gold and gives it to the party. "Your reward. Slate can take you back to Eubric when you all are ready." THE QUEST IS SUCCESSFUL! QM Note: You're welcome to stay around in town and talk to any of the NPCs you've met during the quest or head back to the hall. I'll post final stats once the reward of 600 gold is divided. Thanks for playing! I'll post my thoughts soon. Quote
