BrickOn Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 Or if you want a variation on red, we could always have Skarletta... Quote
SilentWolf Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 I'm with Ska on saving New Corrington for a continent. I like the idea of creating more royalty and naming it after them. Quote
Captain Dee Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 Or if you want a variation on red, we could always have Skarletta... Clever! I like that too. Quote
Ayrlego Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 Rosetta is good! Skarletta is clever as well! Hmmm so much choice Quote
Maxim I Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 (edited) Just saying, If you call your island Rosetta, I personally am going to raze everything on it ! :D My stephmother is called Rosetta and she is really a pain in the megablocks for already 18 years :( Edited March 6, 2016 by Maxim I Quote

Montoya would be very honoured to have something named after him, but I think an island is too much. Perhaps a royal warship could at some point be named after him in some way. (Not just "Montoya" - that would be odd. :P ) Quote
Tomsche Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 At least my suggestion gets the most COUNTERvotes muahahaha Quote
CelesAurivern Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 Reserved suggestion for next continent: New Corrington Reserved suggestion for next challenge: Skarletta #2 is shifting towards the Serentia and Rosetta. May we agree to vote on either one of these two? #10 looks like we can settle for Cocovia? #2 New Balondia - 1 aye: Brickon Allcock - 1 aye: Mike S Tivall Serentia - 2 ayes: Ska, Ayrlego Rosetta - 3 ayes: Captain Dee, Bregir, CelesAurivern #10 Lalaland - 1 aye: Tomsche (+4 violent nays: Bregir, Mike S, Captain Dee, Ayrlego) Cocovia - 5 ayes: Brickon, CelesAurivern, Captain Dee, Fuzzy McFuzz, Ayrlego Montoya - 1 aye: Mike S Rhyn Quote
Bregir Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 I will just throw a last one on the table for the chocolate and coffee island. How about Java? Quote
Bregir Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 (edited) Sorry for the doublepost. In the general BoBS thread, I just put in a suggestion for a prize.court mechanism. Take a look at it vis-a-vis the earlier discussion here. It should make the whole system more flexible, while keeping in with story, immersion and realism. PS. That title - I sure hope I can keep my finances in order! Edited March 7, 2016 by Bregir Quote
Puvel Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 (edited) I vote for Serentia and Cocovia. Also my first priority this month is the challenge. I’m not sure I’ll manage to set up a colony on 2 this month so if anyone else was thinking of creating a settlement there go for it! Edited March 7, 2016 by Puvel Quote
SilentWolf Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 I am going to vote for Serentia and Cocovia. I think they best describe these islands, especially once I looked up what Serentia meant. Quote

BrickOn Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 Can I recast a vote for Rosetta, wait I am not sure I ever actually voted for number 2? Quote
Fuzzy MacFuzz Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 Although we are close to naming our new islands, the map is looking very empty of place names. I have a suggestion for naming rivers, mountains, bays etc: following British Imperial practice, the 'discoverer' (i.e. MOC builder) of any new geographical feature other than an island should be allowed to choose its name. Could be named after its physical appearance (Sugar Loaf Mountain), a member of the royal family (Augusta), a desirable attribute (Concord), the discoverer themselves (Drake's Bay), a local or national hero (Washington), or maybe even a member of their own family. Hopefully this will give everyone some incentive to starting filling in the blanks on the map. What do others think? Quote

All names are, of course, subject to approval by the Crown. I'll echo that. Settlement builders already have rights to name their own towns, so why not surrounding landmarks? As long as the crown has no violent objections. Quote

And here I was going to revive all those obtuse names the American Founding Fathers wouldn't let Thomas Jefferson use... Sounds good. Over and, uh, Roger. Uh, Roger and out.
