Admiral Admirable Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 (edited) I was wondering the same thing myself. It looks great, however it was done. He did it with loose transparent light blue and white 1x1 studs, A common technique used by waterline ship MOCers. Edited January 2, 2016 by Admiral Admirable Quote
Mike S Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 Aiden Coyle, the eldest son of Sir Dylan Coyle VI, pledges his loyalty to Corrington and the queen. The Coyle family owned several prosperous plantations and businesses throughout the Oleon Empire until seven years ago when Sir Dylan Coyle was suddenly accused of treason, stripped of his rank, and executed, his property confiscated. Aiden managed to escape with one of the family's ships narrowly evading Oleon's navy. He now joins Oleon's enemy, Corrington, waiting for a chance to exact revenge on the one's responsible for his family's misfortune. OOC: Doubt I will contribute much but I do have one or two incomplete "pirate" MOC's so might as well join up. Wasn't going to but Corrington's flag won me over. Quote
TitusV Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 Welcome to BoBS! And how did you make that first pic? Quote
Lord Vladivus Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 Vladivius - How did you do that first pic? Looks like floating water! Glass? Nope, just good old fashioned roller blind and weird lighting! Quote
Garmadon Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 Welcome to Brethren of the Brick Seas Vlad and Sir Devine! Very nice intros, I particularly like Sir Devine's piano and Vlad's overcrowded boat! Hello to Mike S as well, glad to see you're planning on building some! Quote
SkaForHire Posted January 2, 2016 Author Posted January 2, 2016 So: If I wanted to be a lieutenant in the army of Corrington, how much license to I have to make up facts about military regiments/ companies? Your character can be anything you want. The ranks and positions are all things you will be able to earn as time goes on. But, if you wanted to start a a Lieutenant on a ship or something like that, then that is fine. There will be series of tasks to move up the "official" ranks, but we are not going to stifle anybody's story. Does that make sense? The ranks will be sort of like levels, and you can either play along and your character can rank up as you build the tasks, or your builder profile (you!) can just be the one ranking up. Quote
A Gallifreyan Cat Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 Hector Wolfe, avid sailor, navigator, cartographer, and sometimes mercenary, is pledging his allegiance to her Royal Highness Queen Annetta of Corrington, and will do all in his power to advance her empire. Orphaned as a boy when he lost his parents to a shipwreck, he vowed to make better maps to stop further tragic accidents like this. Here he can be seen in a rowboat with two members of the 5th Light Regiment taking some measurements on the southern shores of Corrington. Quote
blackdeathgr Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 Sooo, our opponents are getting fatter...Muhahahaha! Quote
Captain Dee Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 "Laugh, Mr. Bond..." It's good to see Corrington getting several new members. And also good to see them using their advanced maps! But it seems to be copies of the same one - perhaps they're all pursuing the same thing... Quote

A Gallifreyan Cat Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 It's actually a secret cloaking mechanism that makes all the maps look the same to enemies, therefore rendering them useless (yeah, we wish!). Quote
gedren_y Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 No, like in National Treasure, there's an invisible map on the back. You need the optical device, with special pieces of glass, to see it. Quote

Spud The Viking Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 (edited) I shall also be joining this fine Nation as Lord Frederick Kirk CorringtonScene by Tom Gray, on Flickr Along with his rather glutenous friend: Thaddeus Rickley! P.S. Sorry for picture quality. Edited January 4, 2016 by Spud The Viking Quote
Captain Dee Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 That's a nice intro scene. Neat, clean, smooth. Thaddeus' facial expression is perfect for him. Looks like he's going to polish off the whole pie by himself, kinda like Chet Morton from the classic Hardy Boys. Lord Kirk should fit right in, and at this point Corrington has much better representation. Quote
engineermax Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 (edited) I present Lieutenant Alexander Whitaker of the 5th light regiment. Seen here on in conference with Colonel Fitzroy and Admiral Lynton in front of the colonel's command tent. The 5th light regiment have been stationed in the new world for the purposes of defended her majesty's territories there. This explains my soon to come entry for challenge II "defending yer claims". Tomsche Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 Right, the sigfig is ready, let`s do this :-) Sir Thomas Smaugton is the only son of the Lord Smaugton, Duke of Merxem. Born in nobility, he never lacked anything in his youth, and when the time came ot serve the Crown, he joined the Navy as a midshipman. After serving for several years on various ships, he raised through the ranks, mostly due to status and age, before being handed his own command of the sloop HMS Green Dragon, named after the Coat D`Arms of his family, which depicts a green dragon on a yellow field. Now, the Crown has called upon it`s captains to explore the New World, and the Green Dragon is being put into service to explore the oceans in search of new civilisations. Quote
TitusV Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 Welcome to BoBS, both of you! Nice sigfigs Quote
engineermax Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 By the way, the 5th light regiment of marines, while marines, are more like an light infantry unit with the training and amphibiousness of marines. Quote
Capt. Stabbin Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 I must know....where does Viceroy Olivery Oxley (Capt. Stabin, Co-Leader)'s Rifle come from?? Yes, as already stated, it is an overmolded musket from Brickarms. I also would like to welcome everybody to the great Empire of Corrington! Quote
A Gallifreyan Cat Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 Where do we state whether or not we are participating in the EGS? Has that started yet? Quote
SkaForHire Posted January 5, 2016 Author Posted January 5, 2016 Where do we state whether or not we are participating in the EGS? Has that started yet? You do not have to state anything, just submit the forms :) If you don't want to participate in it, don't submit the forms. But always submit the free build form, because that helps you team out! CelesAurivern Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 Not much of a builder here; even less of a photographer, but still keen to tell a story :) My guy here, 'Lenny', is an entry level adventurer with some seafaring skills a knack for negotiation and diplomacy. His story is... well, let's just say it'll unravel in episodes. 'Lenny' pledges his loyalty to the crown! For Queen and Country! Quote
