Bregir Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 (edited) Cruisers of New Terra Citizens of Corrington, shipwrights of the Brick Seas. The Royal Navy has decided to outfit three squadrons of cruisers for New Terra to counter the build-up of Olean, Eslandian, and Mardierian Forces. Each squadron will be commanded by a commodore, and consist of a flagship and two consorts. The flagship will be a sixth rate frigate, while the consorts may be heavy sloops, post-ships or sixth rate frigates. 6th rates and post-ships will be bought into service for a net of 75 dbs, while heavy sloops (bobs class 5) will be bought for 50 dbs. For each squadron, the best design will grant the shipwright the right to appoint the commodore, a perfect chance to help the career of a gifted friend or family member! All vessels will be licensed by the crown as necessary and be granted the honour of bearing the prefix “HMS”. Further, her Majesty's favourite ship will be granted the exquisite right to bear her own name and will be awarded with a prize of the builders choice from the current dry-docked captures. Red Squadron: HMS... by Micah of Wolfhaven (Silentwolf), 6th rate HMS… by HMS… by Black Squadron: HMS... by HMS… by HMS… by White Squadron HMS Royal Oak by (Ayrlego), 6th rate HMS… by HMS… by The crown aims at launching the squadrons in succession, until such a time that all nine vessels are operational, protecting the interests of Corrington in New Terra. Sign up now to help shore up the Oaken Wall protecting our freedom of thought and action. All three squadrons will be used for a wide variety of tasks including combat patrols, pirate hunting, escorts and assisting our land forces. Edited December 1, 2016 by Bregir Quote

Ayrlego Posted November 30, 2016 Posted November 30, 2016 (edited) I was planning on refitting the Black Oak from the last challenge as a sixth rate and renaming her Royal Oak. I need to re-do her sails and am planning a huge Corrish ensign. Would she be acceptable for the flagship of one of the squadrons? (my preference would be for white squadron!) EDIT: oh and no reward is necessary. As a prize of war I am happy to donate her to the crown for nothing Edited November 30, 2016 by Ayrlego Quote
Bregir Posted November 30, 2016 Posted November 30, 2016 @Ayrlego Even before a refit she was a magnificent vessel, and with a new rig, the Crown will be happy to accept the Royal Oak as flagship for the White squadron. @SilentWolf On behalf of the Crown and the Royal Navy, I thank you. Such efforts in support of the crown will not be forgotten. Rear Admiral Fletcher The New Terran Fleet Quote

In other news I've been having trouble with Firefox and Chrome giving my laptop the blue screen of death so have been using only Microsoft Edge which seems immune to the problem. However it will let me visit every page of Eurobricks except for BoBS which it always declares is experiencing difficulty. So I'm back in Firefox posting this hoping my computer doesn't crash again. Ska sent me the map originals but ironically as soon as I received them, life's pace picked back up and I've yet to finish another island. I'm out of town this weekend and with the Holidays just around the corner, progress on them is not looking too bright until after the new year. One bright speck on the horizon is however that Fort Arlin is practically finished just needing a few final touches and a place to display it for a photo shoot. 80 x 80 studs is somewhat challenging to move around.... Bregir Posted December 1, 2016 Posted December 1, 2016 Thanks, Mike, that name should he fixed now ;) As to browsers, I find that the good old internet explorer sometimes can get the job done when all else fails. Further, I think we are all looking forward to seeing fort Arlin after the great teaser you posted a while back! Have a proper reward been discussed? Another update on the cruisers. Captain Dee has announced that he will aim at adding at least one ship to the squadrons. Likewise, the Montoya estate is planning on doing so too. Corrington shall rule the brick seas! Quote

Bregir Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 Colonial Governance The Corlander colonies have, for administrative and strategic purposes, been grouped in enclaves under a colonial governor. Both military and civilian responsibilities fall under the colonial governors, who report directly to the Minister of the Colonies. They will command Royal Navy and Royal Army assets, and coordinate defense and expeditions, within their region. Additional ressources will be assigned to enclaves on a case to case basis. (I.e. the enclaves have no separate budget) Mayors and Commanders within the enclaves maintain sovereignty and responsibility over their own settlement, but will report to the governor, who will coordinate military and civilian efforts. Some settlements are not part of an enclave, and functions independently. The colonies are currently organised as detailed below, and as new islands are added to the crown, they will be added to the current enclaves, a new enclave established, or established as independent settlements. Over time, the organisation will be adjusted as needed. Colonial Enclaves The Southern Isles. (Cocovia and Alicentia) Colonial Governor: Cpt. Major Dirk Allcock, RA, for the position of Colonial Governor of the Paradise Isles. The gentlemen in question are hereby required and directed to assume their positions directly, and do anything compatible with their duty to her Majesty to further the interest of the Crown and its Citizens. Failing to do so will lead to court martial with all the consequences such may entail. Further appointments will be made based on merit, interest, and necessity. Sincerely Rear Admiral Fletcher, Royal Navy ________________________________________________________________________________________________ Hide contents Remember, there are many ways in which to advance in Corlander Government. Should such be of interest to you, start building in that direction, and work towards it in your storyline. If you are in doubt what such a position would entail, or how to be considered eligible, ask your local leader about it. Don't expect to be appointed after a few builds, but on the other hand, don't expect it to take 6 years of labourous building either! Quote
