Ayrlego Posted June 26, 2017 Posted June 26, 2017 As a result of winning Challenge 5 Category E, Colonel Dirk Allcock, Colonial Governor of the Paradise Isles, claims Island 14 'Keep-Yer-Boots-On' in the glorious name of Her Majesty Queen Anetta of Corrington. Quote
Bregir Posted June 29, 2017 Posted June 29, 2017 I could use a small vignette of a message somehow reaching Montoya at the negotiations. (with news of Pax Corlandia) Any takers? :) I will need it fast-ish. (No faster than what quality prescribes, though, but it will determine when Montoya reacts to Crab Kailandia or whatever. ;)) Quote

Lord Buckethead Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 I'm definitely going to get into this, however I'm torn between Corrington and Sea Rats. I guess I will just need a bit more time to think. Quote

Both the Sea Rats and Corrington offers a multitude of different options for your sigfig, but while Corrington is characterised by order and coordination, the Sea Rats offers the ultimate freedom (orderly Corlanders might call it chaos!! ). So the choice is whether you want to be part of a well-oiled machine or make your own fortune in a dangerous world with no rules but the pirate code. Will be looking forward to what you come up with - in any case, I am certain you will be welcomed! PS. Come to the red side... We've got science! Quote

You can cause plenty of chaos within the ranks of Corrington I'd say pick whatever interests you. Corrington is based off of England, so if that interests you, we'd love to have you! Quote
Lord Buckethead Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 Well after giving it some thought, order and science have prevailed. I will try to put together a sigfig I like as soon as possible and hopefully I will be building by the weekend. Quote

Bregir Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 Looking forward to welcome your sig fig amongst us, Lord Buckethead. :) Also, Corlanders, please post your best examples of our troops for the era II faction sign up thread. Existing pics are perfectly fine. :) Quote

Within a few days would be good. Working on the era II sign-up thread now. Also, I would like all of our active players to write just a sentence or two about their sig figs (If you have two significant figures, you are welcome to describe both) to put in the thread for a quick intro to the people of Corrington for new players. Just keep it short. :) Quote

Existing pics are perfectly fine. :) About that whole Era II: What does that mean exactly? Despite the rule changes and everything practical, I don't have that feeling like one great period had ended and a new age would wait behind the horizon. Don't get me wrong; I don't complain about ending a chapter. That's the normal turn of a eurobricks RPG. I just have the impression I don't get what's going on. Storywise, the Eslando-Mardieran war of 616/617 (aye, that's the official term now, get used to it) didn't feel like the one climactic final of the story that marks a caesura. Well, for ingame politics it is sort of, but you may know what I mean (in other RPGs a chapter usually ends with challenging an evil wizard threatening the whole world). The only rumours we have as a motivation are those of a reported new continent somewhere. But that wasn't communicated like it was a big deal (it certainly is!). Now the only thing I read about this era II is Corrington working on a new sign up thread. I didn't even know we'll need those. I myself would love to be involved in the Sea Rat plans of something like that. So, couldn't we just have an official announcement, something like "brethren! Era II lies ahead! Get excited because it will be even more awesome because of things like [...] and [...]. Launch date roughly two months away". Quote

Despite the rule changes and everything practical, I don't have that feeling like one great period had ended and a new age would wait behind the horizon. You've pretty much nailed it. It's no great change of epoch (although we do have a general theme for the challenges that you'll see in Era II), it's mainly just rule updates: upgraded MRCA (including automated calculation), new ship classes (which are ready to go with the exception that the functioning of the range stat can't be finalized until we know exactly how MRCA 2 will deal with ship range), new rules to cover adventuring/exploring the unknown, a system to use improving your RL building skills to gain in-game benefits, and some other miscellaneous rules to fill in gaps in the current ones. Your guess of "two months away" probably isn't that far off, although we're really trying to make it sooner than that. But with all the rule updates, it gives us a chance to dress up and refresh the faction threads and stuff like that. Quote
Mesabi Posted July 8, 2017 Posted July 8, 2017 Alright, here's mine. Not sure if this is where to post it, if not, I'll just copy and paste it wherever you need it. Count Mesabi by North White, on Flickr Count Mesabi is a veteran of the Juniper Wars and a former Queen's Guardsmen. Hoping to have a fresh start in the new world, he created the Wayfarer Trading Company, to help further Corrington's interests in the colonies. And here are some WTC troops. Not exactly Vanilla Corrington, but I'm proud of them. WTC marines by North White, on Flickr Quote
