Do you consider the upcoming Dungeons and Dragons set a different theme from the historical themes?  D&D monsters tend to be more fantastical than traditional Castle, and it is coming under the Ideas banner.

Dragon's Keep: A Journeys End is probably coming soon because they picked the winner in Jan 2023 and picked a cover designer in August 2023, but I don't see much discussion on that set on the historical themes topic.

Not really considering LOTR is under this topic.  I think it fits fine here and the Mod's will probably put it here anyway.

The only interesting part from Animal Crossing is the new round 2x2 tree trunk piece in reddish brown as far as I can see.

There are definitely some potentially useful recolors as well (for example, 92947 in Medium Nougat, 60478 in Dark Orange, 2x8 plates and 1x6 tiles in Dark Orange, etc), but yeah,, nothing that'd be enough to make any sets from this first wave particularly enticing as historic parts packs.

Animal Crossing also has one torso that might be of use to some people. Although probably expensive unless it slips through on PAB.

Well, a couple weeks ago I was pleasantly surprised to find the 10305 Queen's torso in the BAM section of the LEGO store. So I wouldn't discount the possibility it happening.

The Queen's torso is unlicensed and has been / is for sale at the online PAB.

LOTR is here, rather than in Licensed Themes (same with POTC and Pirates), so I would assume that D&D would be placed here as well.

I orderd two copies of Pippin's torso. I still wonder why this one found it's way to PAB but not the others.

Ah, wrong thread. Just saw the LOTR talk

The mushroom hat looks pretty good too, great for a little gnome.  The gamer girl has an interesting shirt too, almost like a black falcon symbol but not quite.

Well the goat market bubble just popped

This is an amazing series. Horrible time for them to be in boxes. I'll certainly be buying a case to make sure I get all the medieval ones. Maybe that's Lego's plan...

Exactly my first thought. I want to get the minifigure alone for her torso lol. It just looks like a modernized version of the black falcon logo (even if it is just black and not also white) But I doubt the colour of the torso is a coincidence

With just 108 (new and used) sold worldwide on bricklink in the past six months, I doubt there is much of a bubble. There will probably be some small difference that allows the original goats to be distinguished and the old ones will hold value even if the volume of sales decreases even more.

I'll buy maybe 3-4 goats. That is easily enough for any setting where I'd use them. I think the outfit the goat herder has is more interesting than the goat for me. Decent hood, hopefully a good peasant torso and nice trousers and boots.

This series certainly has some interesting parts although some of the characters are a little bit bizarre. What is the fish guy? The eagle torso woman (I don'tknow what she is meant to be with the keyboard and trophy) might be useful for castle. I need a better look at the dog - he looks quite fancy - so maybe that might also be useful for historical MOCs with royal or rich figures.

It could also be useful on a tan / dark tan / brown head or round bricks for large mushrooms in a fantasy setting.

Series 25 is golden.

The silver lining is that at least this is a good series where army building is possible with a majority of the figs. So if you do end up getting a case at least there aren't as many throw away figs as with other series.

The fish guy is a Red Herring. Probably easiest if you just Google it.

The falcon torso girl is a professional gamer.

Yes, I get it now.

I am very disappointed of the harpy. I have always been hoping for a good harpy, but this? Ok, the non-human legs are nice, but the colors?! Dark Blue legs? Purple wings? The wings are too small. And when will they learn that the claws-in-hands does not look like claws, but like claws IN HANDS! The torso is ok, but the rest...

A great series, literally half of them fit within a typical historical fantasy world. I do agree that the harpy's colouring is less than ideal though but still a cool fig nonetheless, just one that could've been so much better.

I expect the official name will probably be "Noir Detective" or something, given the monochrome design and mid-20th century clothing. But I do love the cheeky "red herring" accessory!

I am very excited for Basil the Bat Lord! It's a brilliant-looking redesign of an iconic character from my childhood, albeit with his scepter re-imagined as a glowing axe. While the helmet is obviously too specialized to use for realistic knights/soldiers, it is a great update of this specific character's classic helmet, and one that could still be useful for other fantasy characters. Overall, since I wouldn't expect to see throwbacks to larger Fright Knights sets as exclusives or GWPs, I'm very happy that they decided to make a CMF based on him.

The goat is obviously very exciting too, though it's a bit of a shame they didn't redesign it to allow for interchangeable horns.

I can't say I mind the color scheme they settled on too much. Multicolored plumage works alright for a half-bird character IMO, and adds some great fantasy appeal. It also helps her stand out nicely from past mythological monsters like the Medusa and Cyclops figs. By comparison, the custom example you shared has more of the deathly pale look I'd expect for undead monsters like a vampire, ghost, or skeleton.

I don't mind the claw pieces used this way, but it feels odd to me that the printed talons on the feet don't match the color of the hand and claw pieces more closely. I also kind of feel like the big molded wing piece from Vidiyo and Monkie Kid might've been a better choice than individually articulated wings on a transparent neck bracket, since this multi-piece approach makes them stand so far off the torso.

I wouldn´t wonder if that one would actually show up in future Dreamzzz Sets. Also, an Fright Knight GWP is also not that unrealistical, although I wouldn´t expect that one to soonish.

A Fright Knight GWP could indeed be possible some day, but I'm glad they went the CMF route for Basil the Bat Lord himself since there's really no way to evoke his signature helmet without a new or returning piece (and GWPs typically don't get the kind of budget for that sort of thing). The new helmet looks interesting—while it's a bit of a shame it lost the classic head stud, the old one was quite cylindrical, and modern Lego castle helmets tend to favor more dynamic and realistic shaping. I'll be interested once official reveals and reviews of this set are out to see what the face under the helmet looks like—the glowing red eyes are already quite a frightful upgrade!

I wish the photo we have didn't almost completely obscure the barbarian fig's design, but the sword looks to be a more "realistic" color scheme for the sword introduced this year for Dreamzzz—silver metallic blade and titanium metallic hilt.

And of course, the goatherd finally confirms without a shadow of a doubt the goat's return, but the fig himself looks quite nice as well, with the dual-molded and printed legs being a highlight.

I like the new helmet, but would have kinda liked to have his staff included - while on the other hand, the staff wasn´t used as weapon and he usually wore the staff and a sword - so I feel including the shield rather than the staff isn´t that bad. I would have liked to have a bat included still though.

I am pretty sure it is. I already liked the Dreamzzz version of it but that one also looks great.
