Latest impact of other themes on historic themes

From additional leaked images of the Series 27 Wolfpack beastmaster: 

 - Scar over the left eye (not visible in the first image). 
 - Sword is a reuse of the Tournament Knight’s, as most suspected (the first image made it look potentially new). 
 - Torso is new; it looks like padded leather with the Wolfpack crest in the centre, and either fur or chainmail poking out from under the collar. Arms are single-moulded from what I can see, and any printing that may be on them is covered by the Minifig’s posing. 
 - Legs are dual-moulded and printed, with a belt printed on the hips (rather than on the torso, as seen in the MTS). 
 - Arms and the top half of the legs (bottom are brown boots) are either black or PDG; it could just be a factor of the render and/or image quality, but the legs seem to be a different colour from the hood (which is definitely black). Both colours make sense, as black works for fabric (as in the MTS torso) and PDG works for armour. 
 - Cape is a new element, which looks more like a big fur pelt than the traditional Superman-style capes. If there is printing, it is not visible in these images. 
 - The wolf is light grey and decently large (standing to a bit above a Minifig’s waist, and wider than dog moulds). 

Overall, I like what am seeing!!

Yeah from those images the figure looks great and I like that it's a different torso and has printed legs and has a shield.  The cape looks great too.  Head print looks good.  It will be nice to see hi-res images to see all the details.

I'd go for fur over chainmail poking out. The 'texture' of the print seems to be too irregular for chainmail. But then again, that could be the quality of the picture.
Definitely a minifig I'd hope to get two of.

Apparently there has been a Lego design seminar where the participants was given a exclusive Castle set, the picture is up on Instagram for those that have that. If that was a GWP I would definitely got it

Kinda like last years purple Spaceman ;). Haven´t seen the set you mentioned yet but guess it will show up soon on different Lego Blogs.

As I said, won´t be long till the first blogs post about it: LEGO Design Seminar 2024 gives away Classic Castle set (brickfanatics.com)

The figure holding the red staff looks like it uses Mrs. Castillo's body (left of the knight fig).  I don't know if that particular body for her has been available before.  Looks to be black with a red scarf.

Well, the minifigs do look good. The Majisto wizard seems to have a new blue printed outfit, the witch also features a new print, on Mrs Castillo's body (like @karrit said), and I'm really wondering how the Black Falcon on the right looks like behind their shield. And there are two rubber capes. I'm a Castle fan with a huge collection of minifig parts, and I'd love to have that set!

It's a little hard to tell with the photo quality but I reckon that's just one of the tan wands used in the Notre Dame architecture set.

On the other hand, that recolor/print of Mrs. Castillo's body definitely looks new.

I am realising that this mystery bit around the collar could also be a chain clasp for the cloak (as the falconer had).

Majisto’s cape appears to be BTAS Batmobile Batman’s, while the Johnny Thunder Forestman has Loki’s cape. 
I am not sure what the Mrs. Castillo body is from, though it may potentially appear in a 2025 Dreamzzz set (maybe for an evil counterpart, as the other characters have gotten?); Majisto's legs seem to be from Jay’s Legacy suit, despite that part being out of production for the past few years. 
The Black Falcon looks pretty standard (I can see a blue torso, PDG legs with blue print, and PDG arms with black hands - Nothing new here), though the head print is difficult to make out - Maybe the Ninjago Wolf Mask warriors’ head? IDK about this one. 
For the exclusive elements (“The Magic of Play” sign, and possibly the Yellow Castle shield), I am assuming stickers like last year.

I do hope that we get instructions/better pics for it, though, since this is a really cute little magic shop (reminds me of the numerous low price-point classic Castle sets) that would fit nicely into a medieval scene!

I agree and it's always nice to get owls in regular sets.  The set does have some nice pieces and the BF fig does look interesting would be nice to see clearer images then we can tell what the head looks like.

Better pics are out; the Minifigs seem to be other characters in Castle costumes, with Wu as Majisto (new, exclusive, torso print), Mrs. Castillo as Willa (new, exclusive, body print), Johnny Thunder as a Forestman, and the cyber drone robot as a Black Falcon knight.

The updated version of the YC shield has a gold border, while the shield in this set does not appear to have one ; this is a minor difference, but it does make the TMoP set’s shield look more like the original piece.

There is a QR code for the digital building instruction. The only exclusive new parts are the two torsos and the sign. I'm gonna rebuild it in Studio and post the file here later today.

Well, I'm taking the existence of these sets as a personal "F*** You" to fans of classic themes.

This and the Space set from a while back are both amazing sets with awesome, exclusive minifigs that fans of classic themes would love, but they're not available to us. You can't even get these on eBay or Bricklink, unlike GWP sets, and GWP sets are already fairly exploitative.

I think your taking it to hard here.  It's a nice set but I would much rather have the LKC than this any and every day.  I would also take the 3in1 castle and MTS over this.  They have given us some great castle set over the last few years and even the vikings stuff has been great.  LOTR has also been excellent.  Not to say this isn't a neat little set but I don't see it as a F-u at all.  I think they will start bringing smaller castle sets into the mix soon especially with the popularity of castle Lego sets and the BDP sets have shown.

The problem is there are no sub $100 sets for fans of classic themes that aren't GWPs or otherwise non-retail sets. Heck, most classic Space sets regardless of price are GWP or employee exclusives. We have the Galaxy Explorer, then the Blacktron GWP, then the Cosmic Daydreams set, then the micro scale GWP. Only one set is retail and it's $100. 

It's not quite as bad for Castle, but still there are no sub $100 retail castle sets. Or am I forgetting some sets?

Regardless, both the recent employee exclusive sets are really cool, and more exciting to me than the recent GWPs (the Blacktron and Majisto GWPs were fairly disappointing), and there's no way to get them.

Bottom line: You just can't expect fans of these themes to be happy about cool sets they have no way to get.

I get what you are  saying and saw you said the same thing on Reddit.  I would like to have sets that are under $100 for castle and pirate.  What I'm saying is what we have gotten has been great and I can't complain about the sets we do have.  I really do think we will be getting smaller sets at some point soon.  Also you can literally go on PAB and get what you want for the most part except for some licensed stuff which you can find on Bricklink and that way you can make what you want.  I didn't have PaB when I was younger it's really nice to get the pieces you need to make your MOC's
