It's a brown fur torso it looks good.  the viking helmet and the lion knight will be in it with the printed legs.

I also like the Dark Orange recolor of the sword piece for a wooden training sword! Making this figure a Viking child is a great way to ensure it stands out from any of the figures in other recent Viking sets, and the training sword really completes that look. Besides its obvious utility for historic themes, the sword could also be useful for Legend of Zelda MOCs, since a number of those games have wooden or rusty swords in them.

Besides that figure, there's also a "Year of the Snake" minifigure who wears a pink dress with a snake-patterned collar and carries a Bright Bluish Green snake piece. The dress will probably be a bit too vibrant and festive-looking for many people's tastes, but the new snake recolor could certainly be useful for historic MOCs!

Nice spot, I actually thought it is pearl gold like the one from the crown Knight CMF, but taking a closer look it does look like the same colour as the teddy bear.

I picked up some of the new swords today. I also thought they were pearl gold when I saw the images. Medium nougat is an interesting color. It's far different from any sword they've ever made. I'm not sure this mold is the best shape for a training sword, but it's a welcome addition nonetheless.

Lion Knight legs went down in price in Canada, 60 cents per.  Bought a bunch in a PAB order and used my Black Friday Vouchers for $15 off, got it with a 6 pack CMF order for free shipping.

Lion knights also coming to BAM, so the torsos and shield might be cheapest option there.  Less than a dollar each by my calculations. That is if your stores allow free pick for 15 parts.

Quite interesting, since they are cheaper than unprinted legs now. Aside from few colours that seem to have dropped too.

I thought all stores are told not to allow that anymore, for obvious reasons. Anyways, if they don´t allow it is still cheaper to get whole figures there than from Pick a Brick.

Apparently the Harry Potter set 76447 includes a black parrot.

Do you know which other set had this exclusive part 35 years ago? I don't think this is a coincidence. Do you?

Wow, well seen ! Could the future castle in the Creator 3 in 1 range be based on this set? Or is it just pure coincidence? What makes me doubt is the fact that the animals in this theme are usually brick built animals, look at the birds in 31120...

Well actually I don´t think it was meant to be a Parrot in that Set so using it back then makes sense but today with all the new moulds for birds, they wouldn´t include it as such. It could get used as a decoration but then it would make only sense if the castle would be black, which I still don´t belive, especially now that it is rumoured for a new faction.

It's a bit strange that we haven't got a corvid mould yet actually.

There's a couple actually.

A crow introduced with Lone ranger sets and also in the scarecrow CMF.

And a Raven introduced in Dreamzzz ( though it doesn't come in any realistic colours yet but hopefully they redo in grey black or brown or all).

Right, I actually forgot about the Dreamzzz one, I was quite excited when it came out. Too bad it hasn't gotten more use.

It would be nice to get a pirched version though. Would set the mood in a lot of sets.
