Exetrius Posted January 4, 2019 Posted January 4, 2019 Saw a Sauron fig on reddit, using Reinhart's helmet. It's beautiful: Link to post: https://redd.it/ac8ut0 Quote
Blakstone Posted January 4, 2019 Posted January 4, 2019 Good catch on Reinhart's helmet. I am surprised that the new Lincoln top hat was not mentioned for the steam punk addition of the googles. Quote
Shroffy123 Posted January 4, 2019 Posted January 4, 2019 (edited) Just picked up the set for same purpose of making a sauron fig Edited January 4, 2019 by Shroffy123 Spelling Quote

Lyichir Posted January 6, 2019 Posted January 6, 2019 That shoulder armor does complement the helmet nicely, and makes it look a little more medieval/a little less sci-fi. Quote
zoth33 Posted January 6, 2019 Posted January 6, 2019 That's nice I picked up that set too. The helm is great, I'm not sure what torso I'm going to use yet. The Sakaraan torso does look good. It will be interesting to see what people come up with. Quote

So who wants my mini dolls? I find the rubber hair of friends dolls work well on standard minifigs... I too buy them for the cool parts... Although I'm getting a bin full of pinks and purples.... Eventually I will have to find a use... On a separate note a fellow lug member recommended using an filler sports and under elevation suports where it won't be seen. Quote
Lyichir Posted January 10, 2019 Posted January 10, 2019 Having just gotten a Lego Movie 2 set with the new Lucy design, I think historic builders will really like her scarf/hood piece. It's one of the first neck/shoulder accessories I can think of that's designed to work in conjunction with the classic quiver piece. It also doesn't cover the face (just the "neck" on the minifigure head), meaning it should work well with a wide variety of hair pieces. Quote
Exetrius Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 So, do you guys think LEGO has introduced enough new parts in recent years for Fantasy Era II ? Let's see: we've got stuff for building actual castles and towers, a few items to add interior and exterior detail, some fantasy creatures stuff, gear and hair to make goblins, elves and forestmen, and some stuff to make wizards. How about the 2x2 crate in brown, or the 3x3 dome in pearl gold or tan, for a more Arabic theme? And reddish brown elfish hairpieces with yellow ears, or a red dragon! Wishlisting in it's purest form, but it's food for the thought. Quote
x105Black Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 I'd love to see them use everything you pictured and more (minus the creature heads, I prefer molded creatures). Quote
zoth33 Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 I think the possibilities are endless with what they've come out with recently. I'm just hoping lego sees all these fantasy adventure movies coming out and the LOTR show coming and see the obvious passion people have for this kind of material. I hope they are working on something now that will be exciting and possibly have a show to tie into a line of sets. Quote
Agent Kallus Posted January 13, 2019 Posted January 13, 2019 (edited) Don't forget these ones. And most importantly. These are all newish parts that i'd love to see recoloured and/or reused in any potential fantasy era 2. Edit: fair enough, I just though it'd take up a lot of space. Exetrius Posted January 13, 2019 Posted January 13, 2019 @Agent Kallus wonderful! Get that list out of the spoiler tag, it deserves to be seen! Quote

I mean, since the creature heads in question are themselves molded, there's no reason LEGO couldn't use them with molded creature bodies. The new Ninjago Golden Dragon head even has a similar style of jaw hinge as the LEGO Castle dragons, which is a first for Ninjago. With some of the licensed parts, I do have worries that they might be IP-locked, which would prevent LEGO from using them in in-house themes like Castle. But I guess there's no way of knowing for sure until we see whether or not they show up in other themes. Quote
LordBevis Posted January 16, 2019 Posted January 16, 2019 Is there a secret part list with part numbers out there somewhere? Quote

MAB Posted January 17, 2019 Posted January 17, 2019 The list is also on LEGO's website, though the replacement parts page for individual sets. In fact, that is where brickset gets the lists from. Quote
Exetrius Posted January 31, 2019 Posted January 31, 2019 The upcoming 75258: Anakin's Podracer includes the sorcerer lightning in trans pink. There aren't too many 'magic' elements in that colour, so that is nice. By the way, I've staring at the 75243: Slave I , trying to figure out what colour the 1x2 jumper and the two cheese slopes are (under the earth green 'fenders'). I immediately thought they are copper metallic, in my eyes they appear a little pearly; ever so slightly less opaque, similar to pearl gold or silver metallic. Or is it just dark orange, with a bit of photography or post-production colour variation? It would be really cool to have copper metallic bricks to build shrines etc with, that's why I'm bring it up here. Quote
Agent Kallus Posted January 31, 2019 Posted January 31, 2019 Looks dark orange to me. but I'd love more copper metallic to get some proper usage. Quote

Great if so to finally get some non-accessory pieces in that color. We haven't seen any of the physical Lego Movie 2 summer sets yet besides the very sci-fi Rexcelsior, but if teen vampire DJ Balthazar shows up in one of them (which I'd consider likely), his Trans. Blue with Glitter hairpiece could be good either for a fantasy fig or even as just a sparkly crystal. That goes double if the other two spa vampires show up, since they have at least one (maybe two) other similar hairpieces in Trans. Purple with glitter. Quote
AmperZand Posted February 16, 2019 Posted February 16, 2019 @Exetrius I had the same idea of using Reinhardt's helmet for Sauron, but my execution is a bit different: Quote

It's not that there's anything wrong with that, but this is kind of the thread for celebrating the continuing expansion of LEGO's own parts inventory for castle/fantasy purposes, and the possibilities emerging from that.
