Um, I'm thinking that's Silver Metallic instead. :shrug_confused:

I thought that at first, but it seems to be a perfect match to the round plates in the middle, which don't look anywhere near as reflective. I think the shiny reflections are simply how the curved edges look under bright photo studio lighting.

Honestly, I would be just as excited for Silver Metallic if not more so, because I love using metallic colors in MOCs… so you can rest assured this isn't just wishful thinking on my part.

Hmmm, perhaps? :def_shrug: I mean, I'd like for it to be Metallic Silver instead, though LBG would be admittedly much more versatile.

I would also prefer Silver Metallic if not for the fact that the larger 6x6x2 curve piece already exists in that color, and in general when MOCing I've found that I've had more times I want to use one or the other depending on which is in a more convenient color, than using both together in the same MOC. Granted, if they both CAME in the same color, maybe that would incentivize me to use them together, but for now I kind of prefer having more color variety between the two sizes to simply making one size in more of the colors that the other size already appears in.

Yesterday a lot of summer sets got revealed! The Heartlake Italian Restaurant, has some WONDERFULLY useful new parts for historic builders:

  • the 1x2 double half arches from the Harry Potter sets appearing for the first time in White
  • 1x1 curved top pieces in three new colors (Bright Red, Bright Orange, and Bright Reddish Violet), used here as clay roof tiles
  • a recolor of the ice cream piece in Medium Lilac as a new food item: grapes!

Just looking at this set it's easy to see the potential to reuse some of these parts and/or techniques in Mediterranean-inspired MOCs ancient and modern alike!

Also, the Creator UFO ride has 5x5x1 curved quarter circle pieces in what looks to be Medium Stone Grey, which could be a great new option for larger stone arches like those over a town or castle gate.

Those grapes look great. But those double half arches, they better make the corner pieces in white too.

The upcoming Stranger Things set will have a Demogorgon minfigure, which could work its way into Castle builds quite nicely.

Great, the body and legs Look a Bit wooden. I can Imagine making dryads from that.

Just thought I'd drop in to share that LEGO Customer Service has put up the instructions and inventories for the LEGO Friends Heartlake City Amusement Pier and Funny Octopus Ride. Specifically I thought folks here might be interested to know that the Amusement Pier set includes the chrome gold ingots/coins prepack (https://brickset.com/parts/6052266/coins-no-1100), which last showed up in the Brick Bank set. Nice to know that LEGO is keeping both the part and color around!

Additionally, more finalized Hidden Side pictures recently surfaced via Amazon.co.uk, though some like the bus and diner are still missing: https://www.brothers-brick.com/2019/05/08/lego-hidden-side-augmented-reality-theme-sets-revealed-news/ Don't see much obvious stuff that wasn't brought up around the time of the Toy Fair reveal (like all the fun recolors from the school set), but I still figured I'd share it for y'all to peruse.

That's good news to see it still produced

I got huge nostalgia to similar coins from the old Pirate days (the old ones that were 10-20-30-40)

Hope they'll eventually show up in Xtra, or a small set.

1-2-5-10 is more useful considering some sets actually have shop billboards with prices of items/food. (Donut Shop Opening being an example, stickers show 1,- for Croissant, 7,- for propellor hat) , many more such stickers in the Xtra Sticker pack.

The August Harry Potter sets have some great parts especially the deatheater with the black hat, The torso's and prints look good to on all the figs in those two sets.  The pegasi are always welcome.

Harry Potter is the best thing for Castle right now.  Really wish we could get this level of detail and attention in an in-house theme, but I'm at a point where I prefer fleshies so this is sort of better.

I just saw the Beauxbatons carriage on The Brick Fan, and it has a bunch of good stuff, including the pegasuseses, a bunch of gold bits including lanterns, etc, all in a nice package that isn't a bad deal MSRP. I'm not really a HP guy, but I know a good parts pack when I see it.

Yes, HP doesn't disappoint when it comes to new pieces!

The Stranger Things set has two very important recolours: the large foliage piece in earth blue and the small foliage piece in reddish brown!!!

Yeah hopefully they will come in some different sets.  I don't think I will be buying that set.  I'm sure they will be on brick link soon too.

For anyone curious about the other new parts, New Elementary has a review.

Other potentially useful parts for historic builders include the new pumpkin (at least for post-colonial America time periods), black "seaweed" and carrot stalks, and a wide assortment of great earth tone plates, tiles, and wedge plates. And a new printed purple wizard hat!

The new Hungarian Horntail doubles for a generic wyvern with little or no modding:

Yes!  I'm excited for that.  I already plan on picking up one of the new Expecto Patronum (75945) [or maybe two] today.
