Set 40525 Endgame Battle has some useful minifigures and parts for fantasy builders. The Korg minifigure, for example, could easily double as a D&D goliath.

Yes he would.  I like Korgs' printing and a cheap way to get valkyrie and a chitauri.  

Also some useful pieces in the muppets cmf, some printed midi legs and regular legs,  a white statue head and hairpiece, I think the printing on the chicken is different with gonzo.  Kermits banjo

New Super Mario sets have been revealed, and I quite like the crown part on the Princess Peach minifigure-character-thingy in set 71403. Might be useful for castle decor or something.
The vine part in set 71409 is rather nice too.

It’s the existing vine part isn’t it? still good to see it available, it’s relatively rare. The SM sets also appear to feature a new colour (red) for the small bird.

I don't think so...It looks thicker (as thick as the candle part, I'd say), and built from individual elements with 2 leaves each. (Here is the link to Brickset's high res image)

While the previous rubbery vine pieces can sometimes be a little more fun for jungle settings and the like since they could wrap around or hang between different sorts of structures, I suspect this newer part could be a little more practical for smaller plants like sunflowers.

There's also a cool new inverted curve piece used for the parapets of Peach's castle, and for the white castle towers in some of the other sets.

That vine is definitely nice.  I have several of the older ones.  This one has more of a Jack and the beanstock look to it.  I also like the red roofs on peaches castle those might come in handy for an idea I have.

The vine will be useful for sure.  Any new plant part or color is a boon for just about all themes! 

I feel that the number of plant parts is finally fleshed out pretty well where I can MOC a substantial number of plants, flowers, and crops.

I have to admit, I am mildly disappointed in those new conical roofs, mainly 'cuz the shape of the shingles doesn't match the ones from the 2x4x3 conical roof. Admittedly, I prefer the rectangular shingles on the new roof cone to the rounded shingles on that one, but it really frustrates me when roof pieces have a texture that doesn't match any other parts.

Hopefully if LEGO makes any other textured roof slopes/cones like this in the future, they'll try and make them match these new ones instead of throwing even more mismatched textures at us.

I'm so disappointed by the shields. I was really hoping for new printed shields, not these brick-built solutions. Guess I'm buying the Goat Boat.

We already new they were not going to be printed shields.  

I think the ship looks good.  It looks like we may get one civilian viking that would be good.

That took me a while to find, but yeah I like the build but I'm surprised that the Vikings use the old horny helmet rather than the more realistic one from the CMF, perhaps that's just a prelimin thing though.

Creator 3-1 has more or less zero budget for things like that, the prelim figs looks better than the castle ones at least

Hmmm...The leaked preliminary image features a female minifig with a very interesting hair+winged helmet combo. Maybe a reuse of the one from Thor's Goat Boat? Or could Creator have the budget for a new mould?

It's not a hair-winged helmet combination I've ever seen. Looks to be a new mould at first glance.
Of the ship itself, the sail is way better then the method used for the 3-in-1 pirate vessel of two years ago.
OTOH, not too convinced from what I can glean of the head -and tail of the ship itself. Looks too massive. But perhaps I'm spoiled by JonasKramm's Lego Viking Longship.

Could be it's hard to tell from the image.  I'm sure we will see pics soon though.  I'm actually going to go find some of the claws and put them on the old cmf viking female figs hair helmet combo and see if it is a match.  It definitely works now we will just have to wait and see it that's what they did.

Even if the image was clearer it'd be hard to judge on the basis of how preliminary the figs look—often new elements are prototyped by cutting and gluing existing parts, so a resemblance to existing parts at this stage wouldn't necessarily rule out being a new part (as surprising as that would be for the Creator theme).
