Ender was still recovering from his fights against the Emboians. He decided to take another turn on the holodeck. This time, he chose one of the timeline mashups in which he portrayed the villainous pirate, Black Hair.

He had been captured by Zoid Blue-coats when a debonair pirate rushed in to save the day. Ender had noticed that the holodeck programs featured this character a lot, and always in heroic roles. He wondered why that was...
