Brickdoctor Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 This thread collects everything we know about 2016 LEGO Star Wars sets; discuss them sets here! Please read before posting: Stay on target topic. Remember that this topic is for discussing sets that are rumored to come in 2016. If it's something you wish to see or something you think that we'll see sometime in the future, but not something that's actually rumored to be a 2016 set, then it's pure speculation and it belongs in the Future Star Wars Sets topic. (We also have a topic for minifigs you want to see, which might be more appropriate.) Do not post fabricated information, which could lead to your account being banned. It's not worth the fifteen minutes of Internet fame. Regarding spoilers: this is a rumors topic; it concerns future products, so it'll inevitably involve discussion of future movies or other publications. We encourage you to be considerate and use spoiler tags when necessary, but we won't enforce their use nor will there be any separate rumor topics. You read this topic at your own risk. Also remember that, as stated in our Member Guidelines: If you find an image of a new LEGO set and it is incredibly blurry or stamped "Confidential", it is a leak-please don't post it here. If you are uncertain, PM a member of the staff for guidance and include a link to the questionable material. Brickdoctor Posted July 6, 2015 Author Posted July 6, 2015 Star Wars reveal is set for Saturday, according to TLG's Twitter. (larger image) Since there's really nothing to discuss that wouldn't be speculation, I'll leave this locked for now. This topic will (should...) automatically unlock at the start of SDCC, 9:30AM PDT on Thursday. Quote
The_Chosen_1 Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 So, are we officially getting another wave in January 2016? If so, that will be incredible -- two Star Wars waves within 4 months of one another! Quote
Brickdoctor Posted July 10, 2015 Author Posted July 10, 2015 So, are we officially getting another wave in January 2016? If so, that will be incredible -- two Star Wars waves within 4 months of one another! I've been out of the loop for a while. I don't know anything you guys don't; I just know this is usually the time that TLG unveils a set for next year. deskp tells me they might only show off the constraction set, though, which wouldn't even belong in this thread. I guess we'll see. Quote
Darth Malgus Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 I can't imagine them not doing another wave in early 2016. Quote
BrickJagger Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 I can't imagine them not doing another wave in early 2016. Agreed. It's obvious that the upcoming TFA wave isn't going to be the only wave related to the movie. After all, there are no army builders in this wave, and since Lego makes tons of money off of battlepacks every year, and battle packs usually come out in January.......... TFA battlepacks! Quote

I guess we'll see. That would be really sad; I hope they show at least one system set, other toy manufacturers did show some new starships, I don't see why LEGO can't. Quote
australopithecine Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 Battlepacks are always good.I have no doubt that Lego will capitalize on the new Star Wars movie. Quote
OldVagrant Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 No worries there. It's pretty much guaranteed that they'll ride the December hype wave. I dearly hope for sets with great amounts of the new troopers. This battlepack would be ideal and a must. Quote
Sir von Lego Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 I heard about Lego Star Wars Dimension Packs in late 2016/ early 2017... Until then Disney will use Star Wars Characters in their own "dimension"-Game (don't know the name...) Greetings. Hendrik Quote

PenPlays Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 Sadly that news is false. http://www.ign.com/a...lego-dimensions Sir Von Lego has been notorious for having insider information. Also note that this IGN news post is around two months old (not to mention that it's IGN. They'll twist up what people say in order to get more people to see their work). A lot of contracts can be signed in that window of time. I guess time will tell, though. Quote
wesker Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 I'm not too excited for potential Star Wars content in Dimensions. I'd imagine the minifigure packs would just be main characters and generic troops that are already available in other sets. They might be able to grab my interest if they can squeeze in a new costume variant like Bespin Escape Leia or a Theed Battle/Droid Factory Padme. Or a Clone Wars character without the anime look. PenPlays Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 Looks like its coming to Dimensions? http://www.mintinbox...ension_StarWars It states that, "thanks to an user on Eurobricks..." (paraphrase). wyrm12 Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 It looks like a list of sets coming in early 2016 was leaked today by the folks over at MintInBox.net. Here's a writeup from MakingStarWars.net: http://makingstarwars.net/2015/07/star-wars-the-force-awakens-new-planet-name-revealed/ Quote
DarthPotato Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Bespin at last! Or at least the Carbon Freezing Chamber. And I'm sure those two TFA battle packs will give us First Order Stormtroopers and Resistance Soldiers. The Battlefront inspired battle packs are a nice surprise as well! But just one question... no new Rebels sets? Weird. Maybe they'll be the retailer exclusives. Quote
