August 3, 20159 yr Lets hope its true! Ok. I had a reply but I made a promise not to share the contents and the source. Sorry for that. What I can say is that I'll just believe what was said (that it will be a small set) and that I won't have great expectations.
August 3, 20159 yr ^^ No worries, I mean it does sound very small but hopefully this set will be like the piece of a jigsaw puzzle and there will be more sets to come.

Fuuuuuuuuuuu how is it that TLG always manage to disappoint you, even when they release the set that we've all been waiting for... oh, well... it's a Bespin set after all... better than no Bespin set at all I suppose... ^^ No worries, I mean it does sound very small but hopefully this set will be like the piece of a jigsaw puzzle and there will be more sets to come. Hopefully, yes. But at the moment we don't have any information to support a "wave" of Bespin sets in the near future.
August 3, 20159 yr Remember the original Cloud City was modular too. How much do you think the Carbon Chamber from that set would've gone for had it been release seperately? It might give us a bit of an idea what to expect.

August 4, 20159 yr Wait, what?! Does that mean set like Tyderium won't be available?! I guarantee that they will be available online, but they might get pushed out of shelves in favor of solely promoting Episode VII stuff.
August 4, 20159 yr To me, I think the shelves will be Episode 7 only for the weekend. After that, unless Disney will buy back all the merchandise, I doubt retailers will spend the money to pull stock, ship it back to their centralized warehouses, and sell online only. Jim
August 4, 20159 yr I can believe it *maybe* for some of the retail stores like Walmart or Target, but I highly doubt this will be the case for Toys R Us, and you can bet your bottom dollar you're still going to be able to find all the rest of the 2015 kits at Lego stores. There's only 7 new sets coming in, that's hardly enough to push out all old merch.
August 4, 20159 yr Any Bespin sets coming our way will undoubtedly have a Lando figure. TLG haven't done one in many years so it would make sense. For example, the X-wing and Y-Wing sets from 2012 TLG included extra figures like Porkins and Alderaan Leia. Older Star Wars Lego sets I highly doubt will be removed in the wake of episode VII sets. TLG is sticky about their displays especially at stores like Wal-Mart. I worked there when the prequel movie merchandise was being released. More likely they will be asked to have separate newer displays for the new products in the aisles.
August 4, 20159 yr Even though I'm pretty sure this talk technically belongs in the 2015 thread... It seems to me it's a bit ridiculous that they're getting rid of all the past sets just to make room for Episode 7 stuff. There aren't even that many new sets to begin with. Are they gonna be discounting the old ones?
August 4, 20159 yr Pretty sure it's only clearing the stock for Force Friday and the weekend. Back to normal from Monday. Probably.

August 4, 20159 yr Wow - that's really terrible for all the folks working in these department stores. Sounds like a big waste of time. to move everything out and then back again later? Sheesh. I'm not saying it's a poor marketing technique but it seems like a nightmare from a retail management point of view. I'm starting to doubt the list that mintinbox.net released. I don't know... it doesn't seem right to me. Are they a trusted source of info? Edited August 4, 20159 yr by darththeling
August 4, 20159 yr Nah, the list seems pretty real. Releasing a long-awaited Cloud City set as a tiny $25 set, with probably 4 minifigures (2 of which will be Han,and Han in Carbonite). That sounds exactly like something LEGO would do. :P

That sounds exactly like something LEGO would do. :P It seems like they have been doing that a lot recently. I was hoping for a large carbon freeze within the scale of jabba's palace but eh. I have been on my hands and knees for years begging Lego to make an Ep III Commander Cody phase II. I really hope he comes with the jedi star fighter.
August 4, 20159 yr Hopefully he will, Lego usually like to add figures in sets who weren't necessarily present in the scene the boxart is depicting as Lego likes to encourage kids to recreate other scenes from the film, Amidala in the Gungun Sub for example. EDIT::: Speaking of the subject, it just occurred to me, could Lego release a boga in that set, or am I wishing to hard? Edited August 4, 20159 yr by Tariq j

That sounds exactly like something LEGO would do. :P The previous Carbon Chamber wasn't that large either though. If the new one is modular in its design and Lego is planning to expand on it by releasing the rest of Cloud City at a later date then the scale won't seem as bad. Again remember the original Cloud City was also a modular build. You had four different areas you could arrange anyway you wanted (Carbon Chamber, Dining Room, Gantry/Duel Area and Landing Platform). Now imagine that instead of all these areas being included in the same box, Lego decides to split them up into multiple sets. Suddenly the size doesn't seem so bad. Another thing to keep in mind is the minifigures. A large retail set rarely ever includes more than 10 characters. While a D2C set like the Ewok Village and Death Star can go beyond that, it comes at the expense of no new molds. Releasing multiple Bespin-themed sets at retail means we're getting the best possible representation of the desired characters. 2016 could be looking at something like this: Carbon Chamber - 4 minifigures Cloud City - 8-10 minifigures Cloud Car - 4 minifigures Thats double what we got the first time around with 10123 and 7119. I'm staying optomistic until pics show up and we hear whats comming in the Summer wave.

EDIT::: Speaking of the subject, it just occurred to me, could Lego release a boga in that set, or am I wishing to hard? Well, to be fair, Cody did appear onscreen next to Obi-Wan and the blue interceptor in the hangar before Obi-Wan left for Utapau. So Cody does make a lot of sense even without Lego's usual random inclusions of characters. Hopefully we'll get him. And yeah, Boga's definitely too much of a stretch. Unless we're getting the booster ring as well (and we're probably not), this set will most likely be $25. And there's no way they'll put a large molded creature in a $25 set. That's why we never got Boga in the Wheel Bike, and that's also why I doubt we'll get a Bantha in the Droid Escape set.

I think it should've been included in the wheel bike from last year, but oh well.
August 5, 20159 yr I doubt we will get boga in the set, I wonder if it may end up the episode 2 set, be nice to get a dex or kaminoan too.

August 5, 20159 yr That's why we never got Boga in the Wheel Bike, and that's also why I doubt we'll get a Bantha in the Droid Escape set. There's got to be some reason there's yet another escape pod released so soon though (unless C-3PO & R2 aren't in the force awakens sets...?) so I feel like they'll want to spruce it up somehow. I kinda doubt it too, but I'd expect at least a Tusken instead of more sand troopers. Edited August 5, 20159 yr by Ultron
