Built the Maz Kanata set today. Nice set with decent mini figures, not sure it was worth the price but still.

P.s I have nothing against female characters. Rey is great and I was pleased she was the force sensitive person in the film, she will be great over the trilogy.

Is the Pod racer happening or was it just a rumour?

any chance for any info on the new death star UCS at ny toy fair?

I highly doubt it. We should at least hear about the UCS Hoth Echo Base as this is the next Star Wars UCS set to be released. The Death Star is to be released in the second half of 2016 I believe, so we probably won't hear anything on this until a month or 2 before.

It's no longer on Brickset. That's a bad sign for it.

Darn. I guess that make sense though, having already released one in 2011 (that's still quite a while ago, though). I was hoping for a Shmi and an Episode I C-3PO. :hmpf_bad:

I would have thought the rumoured Snowspeeder would have been the second half 2016 UCS release with the Death Star more likely 2017 post Rogue One release.

I am not surprised, it was the one on the list that I had the least faith in.

I know right. And the 30$ price point made it even more unbelievable. I mean, with the new prices, the 30$ sets don't even exist anymore....

When even the UK and US price are overpriced, the rest of the world can cry...

Anyway, I hope the UCS Echo base will be nice and that we will get related BPs next wave. NY toy fair is soon. Can't wait!!!

That theory probably stems from the novelization by Alan Dean Foster, since in the book Luke misses on his first run, then Obi-Wan's voice speaks to him on the second and he blacks out when taking the shot--the theory that results is that Obi-Wan basically possessed him, and that's how he made the shot. This would seem supported by the duel in Foster's "Splinter of the Mind's Eye" when Vader makes some remark about Kenobi and Luke says "I am Ben Kenobi" or something of the sort.

Yeah... black & white, or black & light bley. One of the two. But it's definitely gonna be a T-65; Rogue One takes place just before ANH, so any X-wings we get--unless they're prototypes or specially modified, or some even-older version--will be T-65s, typical OT X-wings. But that's only if they make an X-wing from the film; for all we know, the leaked X-wing is just a set piece, a prop, not something with a significant presence in any battle or belonging to any of the main characters.

There won't be a RogueOne X-wing fighter this year...

So is there any more information on who the silver protocol droid figure in the advent calendar is supposed to represent?

My bet is on E-3PO. A silver protocol droid seen in Cloud City in TESB.

I'm still going with Episode II C3PO. Doesn't look shiny enough for the droid right at the start of ANH (forget it's number) or E-3PO.

Am I the only one who is basically only buying battle packs now? I got the First Order Dropship (no regrets) but with the outrageous prices for most sets I would rather buy 10 battlepacks and get 30 minifigures for $130 then a normal $130 set which may not be well constructed and have only four or five minis in it. Ive found myself buying minifigures and parts from sets on bricklink or ebay to be more consumer friendly. Even the microfighters are in my opinion overpriced when the accompanying minifigure isnt that special (ATDP pilot, Chewbacca, ATAT pilot, Rebel Pilot). If we are talking one with a new or hardly used mold like the Ghost one, undersrandable but the others should include at least 2 minifigures if its going to cost that much.

I dont mean to complain or whinge lol because I know AFOLs have it much worse for pricing in other parts of the world, plus this is a very first world issue but ive been highly dissatisfied with recent cost of regular sets.

You're not the only one. I think I'll just be picking up battle packs for Star Wars and only maybe the CTT is it really impresses me in person. Otherwise the cost and general lackluster of the sets are keeping me away. Just leaves more money for Marvel and catching up on stuff from last year.

I am betting that once prices come down, hopefully by the next movie, I'll be more interested in acquiring TFA characters.

You could be right, but keep in mind Phasma's armor is really shiny too, while the minifig is just a regular metallic. I'm hoping for E-3PO since I try to ignore the PT and TCW as much as I can.

That's pretty much what I do too. Hoping for E-3PO with the added hope that the Bespin Guard in the calendar, the Freezing Chamber and the Slave 1 are all related to more Cloud City sets.

Same here. Bought the transporter thing, but that's about it apart from battle packs. Still waiting for some decent sales on the TIE Fighter. Might buy two of those. Ive decided to pass on the other sets of the first wave, which are quite poor for what you get imo. Will try to get the battle of takodana for the minigs if its discounted over 25%. I used to be a completist! But they don,t have any good sales going on on amazon. I said it in the other thread. They used to have frequent 33% discounts in the European amazon stores, now youre lucky to get ten percent off on models that have been out six months.

Looking forward to pictures of the new DS. I have two of the old ones. One on display and one MIB. I might buy a new one and use the old one for parts, if it's good. But the way theyre cutting corners these days, something tells me the old one will be a better display model.

Unfortunately I like collecting Lego to much to have the cost keep me from buying new sets. However, the lack of creativity has kept me from buying new sets. Lego tends to be remaking a lot of sets that have already been made in the last five years and not a lot of new minifigs either which makes it hard to buy any of the new sets. Based on the sets we have seen so far for this year, this year will be the least I have spent on Lego since 2009 back when I was just getting into collecting.

It honestly could be C-3PO, E-3PO or TC-14. They are all so similar that it really doesn't matter what lego calls the figure you can make it whoever you want it to be. The only thing that worries me with buying an advent calendar for a minifigure is that every minifigure in the advent calendars, with the exception of the santa/holiday exclusive figures, has been released in a set. I would hate to buy the advent calendar for the silver protocol droid and then have it released in another set.

Thanks for posting that, they take things to far past the rules.... *cough* as well as complaining about prices which we where told not to do here before. *cough*

Even though you might be right.......posting this is not very 'gentleman-like'.

Glad to know it's not just me.

I could be wrong but if it's in regard to sets that haven't come out, which many of the 2016 wave have yet to be in the US, isn't it valid?

Anyways I guess to get back to discussion I hope the Rogue One sets come cram full of Original Trilogy Stormies
