February 27, 20169 yr 4-Lom appeared as himself in a video around a year ago but there's no sign of him anywhere. I'd take appearances in these videos at face value... Can you recall the specific video? I missed it and would love to check it out!
February 27, 20169 yr I see possibilities for a tie-in with the Friends line. LEGO Friends Rouge One Cosmetics Shop confirmed.
February 27, 20169 yr LEGO Friends Rouge One Cosmetics Shop confirmed. Does that come in a millenium flacon?
February 27, 20169 yr Rogue* No, it's a Cosmetics Shop, so there will be many varieties of rouge for the Friends girls (and boys) to apply! Does that come in a millenium flacon? Yes! But seriously, folks, I'm excited about the upcoming Rogue One sets without knowing a thing about them. I'm also excited about the idea of another Force Friday event.

February 27, 20169 yr The figures are always great for Star Wars so additional Imperial forces will be awesome
February 27, 20169 yr Is that the same face print on the First Order General as the Rebels Imperial Officer which came in the Inquisitors tie advanced and whatever that imperial carrier ship was last year? Nope. Similar expression and shadows under the eyes, but more lines and a chin.
February 27, 20169 yr I know some people were unimpressed, but I legitimately think Yularen was the best May the 4th promotion ever. He gave us a nice new ISB torso, which if you don't care about rank bars could be used for Thrawn. Although I'd rather have a non-human character like Ponda Baba, I understand that LEGO doesn't want to make a new mold for a free item, so I was happy with Yularen, one of my favorite human background characters who hadn't already been produced. If it were up to me, then I would have Dr. Evazan, Wuher, Zam Wessell, Bail Organa, other clones, other imperial officers, etc. I'm guessing it'll be some patron of Maz's castle, though (unless it's some character we've already had a dozen times).
February 27, 20169 yr I know some people were unimpressed, but I legitimately think Yularen was the best May the 4th promotion ever.... Agreed. It was also highly strategic that it targeted both OT fans as well as The Clone Wars. A proper May the Fourth figure should do just that. Any chance we will see someone we've never heard of/premiere reveal of someone from Rogue One? Edited February 27, 20169 yr by darththeling

Any chance we will see someone we've never heard of/premiere reveal of someone from Rogue One? I wouldn't count on it. But the 2017 May the 4th minifigure, on the other hand.... [Not a rumor, just speculation based on trends.]

I can't disagree with you more on Yularen minifig. Revan is definitely the best May 4th promo in my opinion. As for this years May 4th promo, I think it will either be Hoth Leia to go along with Hoth UCS, or some obscure alien from Ep 7( Guvian death gang?).
February 28, 20169 yr If it's OT I feel like it may be Ponda although Leia would make the most sense to encourage more to buy Assault on Hoth on May the 4th. The only problem is that would be a poor move because I feel the vast majority of people would not be buying or interested in the UCS set but rather buying smaller ones. If it's TFA I feel that its most likely going to be a resistance officer we didn't get any of the sets. Oh god what if it's sleeping R2-D2?

February 28, 20169 yr What hints or clues give you a firm idea it may be Ponda? A page or two back we talked about it but it basically comes down to him being the only non produced figure in the most recent Lego TFA movie where Poe goes to save Akbar. In the same video there was also a figure from the then unannounced Assault on Hoth so one future figure was teased in the video. Plus the character is so iconic, he should be just as big as Greedo who was bolstered by the whole "Who shot first" controversy, that it's crazy they haven't made the figure yet. They just made a Mos Eisley set so I doubt there will be another set where it makes sense for him to appear anytime soon so he's perfect for a one off figure promotion. ANH's anniversary is next year plus the Aqualish are one of those species that appear in every part of Star Wars canon (except TFA) so a new mold that could be used in many future sets is in my mind not totally out of the question. He's really cool looking, desirable, and definitely a figure worth paying more then a $100 dollars worth of sets to get. Previous years the figure has been either meh or appeals to just a specific part of the fanbase, this would without a doubt appeal to everyone. Edited February 28, 20169 yr by Forresto
February 28, 20169 yr What hints or clues give you a firm idea it may be Ponda? I think it was me complaining about how they'll give us Unkar's brute as an exclusive yet we've had two Cantinas but still no Ponda. I guess that turned into wishful thinking.
February 28, 20169 yr Polybags and book minifigs never have new molds, only new prints. The only place you'll see Ponda Baba or any Aqualish is a new Mos Eisley set, or either a Freemakers Adventure set or Rebels set, if an Aqualish is included. Same goes for pretty much every OT species. Personally I'm delighted with the Thug, we'll never revisit Unkar and TFA sets and minifigs will make way for Rogue One and Episode VIII soon. Almost all unmade characters (Niima residents, Maz' Castle patrons, Bala-Tik and the Guavian Death Gang, some of Kanjiklub, Resistance members) could appear in future films.
February 28, 20169 yr Can you recall the specific video? I missed it and would love to check it out! It's a Yoda Chronicles short: He appears at 45 seconds as he's the bounty hunter that finds Luke.

Yea I have to agree the chances of seeing Baba are slim to none and as much as I would love to get him in minifigure form I don't think it'll happen unless they put him in another rendition of Mos Eisley Cantina .. To be honest I can see Shmi Skywalker getting a minifigure before Ponda Baba

To be honest I can see Shmi Skywalker getting a minifigure before Ponda Baba Which would make sense, to be fair, as she is a much more important character in the story. She's only lacking a minifig because there is no obvious set to put her into - certainly not a Tusken Village set.

February 28, 20169 yr Funny the lack of a Shmi should come up The Brothers Brick is doing an article series on what hasn't been made for each Star Wars movie and they just released their article about the Phantom Menace.
February 28, 20169 yr Let's face it guys... The main people we want are the people in the pod racing stands, right?! I personally wouldn't mind a Ponda baba or any other sorta side character. Edited February 28, 20169 yr by ChiefPie

Haha that article is the reason why I brought up Shmi! But in all seriousness TLG could put her in the up coming Anakin's pod racer set if that's still a thing? Haven't heard much about it for a while now Edited February 28, 20169 yr by Squarefoot_Calrissian
