benderisgreat Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Carbon freezing chamber is 25$? Uhh I really don't like idea of such iconic scene being a smal 200+ pieces set. That is unless like some people here said it will be like Jabbas Palace and Rancor pit a few years back( but even then is too small). As for the rest of the sets I am dissapointed that rebels sets are just microfighters. Ep 7 sets seems interesting that there will be building instead of vehicles set. As for the rest of sets, not interested about Obi-Wan's interceptor, since it will probably be repainted Anakins star fighter from 2014. Ep 7 battle packs sound interesting ( FO Stormtroopers and Resistance soldiers) but Battlefront? What will they include Imperial Stormtroopers and Rebel soldiers? Not that excited about this 2 battle packs. Quote
Jedi-Bendu Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 That's true, I forgot about the Jawas. It'd be nice to get one of them in a non-expensive set A Jawa will be included in the advent calendar this year, so we finaly can get one in a non-expensive set. So, it makes sense if a Jawa will be included in the Droid escape set. Ok. I had a reply but I made a promise not to share the contents and the source. Sorry for that. What I can say is that I'll just believe what was said (that it will be a small set) and that I won't have great expectations. Based on what CM4Sci posed and the Euro prices quoted: 75137 Carbon Freezing Chamber - £24.99 / $24.99 / 29.99€ (approx. 200-250 pieces) Good to hear/read the guy I got the info from was right about the price (and the fact it's a small set). Quote
Alcarin Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 75129 Wookiee Gunship Microfighter - £8.99 / $9.99 / 9.99€ I wonder if it comes with generic Wookie :) Quote
markw Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 How many figures do you usually get with a £25 set? £40 for the Snowspeeder (3 figures) and £60 for the B-wing (3 figures). Surely you're not going to get 4 iconic figures like Han, Lando, Luke AND Vader for £25? I think the price point rules out new Bespin fatigues Luke from this scene. I'm hoping for Lando, Han and Vader. Quote

My guess: Han, Lando, Boba Fett, Ugnaught. Vader will be saved for more expensive sets, plus I think they'd rather include an 'old' figure (Fett) that has been in multiple sets than a new figure (Vader with new helmet) that's only been in one more expensive set. markw Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 There's hope yet then! Although haven't prices gone up post Disney? I would still rather get Vader than Fett (I have the UCS Slave I figure that I consider pretty definitive!) Ugnaught and Lando would still sell this to me. Any less and would probably pass. Very excited for Battlefront battlepacks though, and hoping for some non-humans! Quote
Richpepperell Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Very excited for Battlefront battlepacks though, and hoping for some non-humans! Totally agree - the game trailer has shown Sullustan and Rodian rebels - that would be so cool. Quote

Most 25 USD sets in recent years only feature 2 - 3 minifigs. 75141 could likely be a store exclusive based on high set number, low price. 75139 and 75140 are rumoured to be called either Battle on Takodana and The Pirate Transport. We also have Anakins Podracer and Hall of Mirrors. Quote
markw Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 What is the story with Hall of Mirrors? I've seen the SW wiki entry and it seems strange that it would become a set. Unless it's something new that appears in TFA? EDIT: actually don't answer that. I googled it and stopped reading as it started getting spoilerific! Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Thank you very much for these links, CM4Sci, and for the conclusion, afolaus! Carbon Freezing Chamber Carbon freezing chamber is 25$? Uhh I really don't like idea of such iconic scene being a smal 200+ pieces set. That is unless like some people here said it will be like Jabbas Palace and Rancor pit a few years back( but even then is too small). I completely agree! I bet for Han, Han in carbonite, an Ughunaut and a Stormie or Boba Fett being included - no more minifigs. Hoth Attack Suppoably a redesign of the version from 2009. Droid Escape Pod I bet on a remake of the 2012 version. C-3PO and R2-D2 are for sure included. Which other figs do you expect - Sandtroopers or Tusken Raider? A Bantha would be cool and be sinec long overdue - but I doubt that there'll be one in an only 30 Euros set. Klaus-Dieter Quote

darththeling Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Maybe the carbon freezing chamber is going to be from Rebels, not ESB. Note the title of the kit does not include the word 'Duel.' Anyway, having slept on it, I'm very irritated about TLG's slap in the face to the fans over a 25$ carbon freezing chamber. We haven't seen Cloud City since 2003 and this is the best they can do? Rubbish. UCS or bust. The only way this could work out is if you have to buy multiple sets to create a larger one but I'm doubtful due to the mechanism they will no doubt include to freeze Han (if it is Han). Luke and Vader fight alone in the pit later on the film but then wouldn't it be called 'Carbon Freezing Duel?,' plus they just released a Vader/Luke duel kit. Best case scenario for me: the kit is 1/4 of a full chamber, the figs included are Lando, Bespin guard and an Ugnaught. But I'm not holding my breath! Quote
wesker Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Again... the original Carbon Chamber wasn't that much bigger. I don't think the size is really the issue. The real concern right now is whether this is going to be a standalone piece, or a modular one that can combine with a larger Cloud City set down the road. Quote
benderisgreat Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 I believe 75141 Kanan's Speederbike is Rebels :) yeah I know, but it's number suggests it's going to be retail exclusive and we already have Ezra's speeder bike, so Kanans bike is most likely going to be a recolored version of that set. So am not interested in it. Quote

We will have to wait and see. If it does end up being a modular, we can all agree TLG do what they can to please us AFOLs...heck even a few of them view these discussions from time to time for ideas Quote

Every year the sets Lego release are seemingly random - despite these forums being very clearly tilted towards certain sets (Bespin sets being the most obvious example). We wouldn't get snowspeeders and sith infiltrators every year if any consideration was given to us! I'm not criticising lego as such - almost all their choices are baffling - but ususally the weird fighter they chose to turn into a set - that appeared for only 2 seconds in an episode few saw - is high quality and worth buying and the 9th re-release is invariably an improvement over the garage full of previous versions so many of us have... H_Solo Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 About the Bespin set... There's an Ugnaught, Lobot and some Cloud Cars to see in beginning of the new Lego SW Droid Saga Movie... Perhaps it will be just Cloud Car with some figures? Quote
Gremer Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Do we have any idea if Hoth Attack will be a new set or if it's a remake of the 2009 trench set? Quote
markw Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 I think we all assumed that would be the set in the video, or even the echo base we were expecting. Hoth Attack? Who knows, but it must be more than an Empire battle pack at £25. Quote

Perhaps it will be just Cloud Car with some figures? That wouldn't make sense because the set is specifically titled "Carbon Freezing Chamber". Knowing that this set is gonna be roughly 30$, my guess is we'll see three figs, maybe four if we're lucky. I'm hoping for a new Luke, but I bet we'll get Lando, Leia in the prisoner outfit, and then either Han and the carbonite piece, or Boba and the carbonite piece. Since this set will be generally smaller than most location sets we've seen from the Star Wars line in many years, my guess is that this set will attach to a larger set focussed on the area where Luke and Vader duel, perhaps including the shattering window and the long walkway platform. Always wanted a better version of that scene as a set after seeing how simple it was in the original Cloud City set. Don't get me wrong, I love that set, but making a revamped version of that iconic scene would make a lot of sense to me. They've given us the duel on the Death Star II, so why not do the Bespin duel in just an epic fashion. I'd be fine if we didn't get a set of the main interior of Cloud City, with the dining room and the white hallways and such. Quote

Smallish Carbon Chamber would fit really well into a larger duel set which would mean Vader would keep the premium set appearance, add a meeting room/private chambers set with Leia in her Bespin robes and maybe a platform set with a cloud car and we'd have a pretty nice Cloud City over four sets instead of the two that Jabba's palace was made from. I won't start trying to assign figures to sets as that's purely guesswork but I could see it working. Quote
GallardoLU Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 curveball theory (and admittedly extremely unlikely) what if the Carbon Freezing Room has nothing to do with Bespin? SWTOR's next expansion starts with the player waking up from Carbonite Freeze after 5 years. and considering the battle packs are for Star Wars Battle front (also a video game) that brings my crazy theory into the realm of possible although highly unlikely. something to consider perhaps.
