Not Starkiller Base.

I have wondered that too, I would be surprised if they produced a Starkiller base so soon, I think it would be best suited to coming out in the year or so after episode IX, ala Orthanc, a grand end of ST USC.

If the current Death Star set was more up to date then I reckon it would still be available for a couple more years until the Starkiller base came out but I don't think it can last any longer, it has been looking out of kilter with the standard of other sets for a few years now already IMO.

Still available on the US Shop@Home but I imagine they'll be gone very, very soon.

Hard to see how a new version could improve much. Can't wait to find out though.

They are probably (for sure) going to update the minifigures. Add a couple different so people buy it again and fix some small flaws. (I don't know if there is any flaw, I don't on the set)

The only flaw is that the only way you can "blow it up" is by pushing it off the table. They better include some explosives with this rendition...

I do hope we see a real list of the summer sets soon. I was really exited for the list that was revealed the other day but it has been proven that it is a fake list. :sceptic: I think I need to stop being so gullible.

I think the rule of thumb is don't believe any info on sets unless you've heard the person give legit info before.

The Death Star is officially retiring... Another sign of a new one coming.

*oh2* *oh2* *oh2* My wallet just tied a rope around itself....

In the 7 years since it's release just think of all the new parts and minifigure advancements that TLG have developed, as a SW minifig collector I simply cannot wait to hear the list of updated and new minifigs it will include.

After seeing the excellent recent rendition of Wulff Yularen I have high hopes for a new Grand Moff Tarkin!

(Ooh and a new Dianoga)

Why stop there? New Classic Leia, R2-Q5 with modern head printing, Navy Troopers with updated officer uniforms, Tatooine Luke without cheekbones, a proper Imperial RA-7 Droid instead of a black C-3PO, new Stormtrooper Luke and Han...

It will be interesting to see if they also throw in a few extras like R5-J2, Imperial Gunners or Imperial Crewmen who weren't released in sets until after the original Death Star came out.

Along with updated minifies, they could also provide the exterior surface of the death star this time. It could open up to reveal the rooms and such.

Just based on the single image we've seen of Starkiller base, I can't see them trying to recreate the WHOLE thing in LEGO...

I don't think that I would even want to see them try at this point.

Yet.

Regarding the potential new death star, what I'd really want compared to the last one (even though I love it and have it displayed ever since I bought it) is to have the exterior façades. Maybe it could simply split open in the middle to reveal the rooms, or each room could have a smaller movable facade. I don't know. But that's the only thing I'm guessing they could do to really improve from the last iteration and make me buy it (again).

But no space MG34/42. :cry_sad: Prepare yourselves for the inevitable thousands of MOCed heavy guner guns.

+100. Why the hate on the heavy gunner? The only real drawback to the fig is the lack of his weapon.

This is something I've been thinking about lately.... how can Lego top off the printing that's going on now? I mean, the original 90s Stormtrooper minifigures obviously had room for improvement, but these new 2014 ones? I don't know if I would want to see a Stormtrooper minifigurewith more printing than the latest one. And now, with the FO stormtroopers, we're in the same boat that we were in ~16 years ago. I don't know if there will be a new iteration of FO stormtrooper printing. Maybe when TLG standardizes arm and side-leg printing.

well one area of improvement is the inane way printing ends abruptly at the knee. i HATE that, and ruins a figure for me, totally does.

I would buy a new death star even though i have two already, one of them MISB. the other one i have on display, id use it for parts. So many parts!

If just2good actually said there would be a March wave dedicated to Rebels, can't he just respond saying "yup", unless he is busy.

I don't know why they have to be so coy with any information. It's hardly going to hurt LEGO's business. :P

I am really hoping to see the prototype B-Wing as a set, that would be awesome.

Wow, I never expect a sub-wave jus for Rebels set at the next year before!

Hope that Darth Vader's personal TIE fighter in the Rebels TV show been make as a set in that wave, since a updated version of Vader's TIE fighter make sense after 8017 is retired for more than 5 years.

why would they get rid of cheek bones, the newst luke has cheek bones, and mark said the best feature of his face was his cheek bones, why remove the best part of his face

That thought had crossed my mind. They would most likely have to up the piece count considerably though, which could start to push it close to the $500 mark again. I don't know if Lego is prepared to do that again, especially for a playable set. Although I hope so :)

That would be a great set in my opinion! That would represent a mix of a great playset and a collectable as well! :D

Rumor has it... you don't know when to call it quits. Everyone's hip to your act, man. Making these fabricated lists less specific doesn't make us believe them any more. And what source? HothBricks?
