Flieger Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 (edited) No, at least there's never been on in the movies. Maybe I misunderstand you, but there was (at least) one female X-Wing pilot in RotJ, Karie Neth. We do not have a minifig of her, though... Edited January 2, 2016 by Flieger Quote
rollermonkey Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 (edited) No minifig, non-credited role, no in-cockpit shots, no dialogue. Yes, there was a woman in a pilot suit on screen, but everything else about her is non-canonical. We know she was at the briefing, nothing more is confirmed since Disney rent the EU asunder. Amazing how the galaxy was sexist, even way back then. ;) Edited January 2, 2016 by rollermonkey Quote
Flieger Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 As small as the role may have been, she is a female fighter pilot - unless you want to believe that a random woman snugged a suit and started posing during the main briefing. Quote

I tend to believe/pretend that women's roles in SW combat were similar to how they were in real life when the movies were released: They had support roles, and although these placed often them in great danger, the Galactic (and US) Senate pretended otherwise. Female pilots in the US were limited to logistics aircraft until recently. (Although in WWII, they would operate fighter aircraft on ferry flights to relocate the equipment about the country as needed.) Maybe she/they had just brought forward more X-wings from the rear and hadn't changed out of the flight suits when the briefing occurred, before operating a different spacecraft for the battle. Now that women can be fighter pilots in combat, they show up in SW as such, on-screen with speaking roles. Either way, I'm sure that Karie and Dorovio served the Rebel Alliance with honor and dignity, I just think we're more likely to get a Jessika Pava minifig long before either of them. Pablo94 Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 Dear Pablo94, will the Clone Turbo Tank be EP3 version OR TCW version ? Any info about the minifig selection? I know nothing more. Quote

Tom Jurassic Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 (edited) Thinking about the Clone Turbo Tank as a set, does anyone believe that it could be another dip into the Clone Wars franchise? At first I assumed it would be based around the Battle of Kashyyyk but considering the plethora of sets surrounding it, and the fact that we have already seen Commander Gree released in the AT-AP, I am likely to believe that it would be Clone Wars based. This would then make me be hopeful that we could potentially see a Phase II Commander Cody released with this set, as I could see LEGO either making it appear as if the Turbo Tank is on Utapau, or from a scene in the Clone Wars. Not only would we get a sought-after Commander, but we could potentially see the 212th Troopers from the Battlepack reused here, similar to how the Kashyyyk troopers and scouts have been reused since. Just a theory and something I would like to see, as if it is indeed Clone Wars based, then we could see the new-style Obi-Wan from the Exclusive BARC Speeder set with Rex reused here. Does anyone have any information on the nature of this set? I'd like to hope it may be a dip back into the Clone Wars franchise, however it is possible we could see an Imperial version of the Turbo Tank (Similar to the Police gunship) through the Rebels TV Show in-between now and the release of this line of products. Dhivael Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 FYI, the battle of Takodana set is back in stock on target.com in the US at the 49.99 price. Quote
LegendsOfNinjago Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 I wish LEGO did price match, i could've gotten it forb$30, but I just got the Takodana set for $40 with VIP so I'm good. Quote

Well, we still have to wait for any real prove of a new Turbo Tank, so any more specific information as of right now seems very unlikely. But if we are going to assume, I will say what I said a few pages back: I heavily doubt that it will be a Clone Wars Version. The reasons for that: 1. The last version already was a Clone Wars Version 2. Clone Wars Series is dead (focus is on Rebels now), so any more Clone Wars Sets are even more unlikely to happen than Prequel Sets 3. The recent battlepacks were all realistic-style movie-based Clones (Kashyyk, Utapau, Geonosis) & 4. We got a realistic style AT-AP last year and we get a realistic style new Homing Spider Droid now, just wouldnt fit the current line of realistic Prequel-Era to bring back a Clone Wars Set And I personally even hope that it will be a movie based/realistic-style Turbo Tank, because I just utterly hate the Clone Wars Animated Series. I also think that they make way better realistic Clone and Jedi Minifigures, the mentioned recent battlepacks and Sets feature some of the best in quality and detail ever in my opinion. Quote

Very good points raised, BigEl. My only question then, is who do you think they would include with it? I feel perhaps a Movie-accurate Cody is an accurate bet. I can't see it including yet more Kashyyyk troopers when we've seen them in about 4-5 sets now over the past couple of years. Quote

But it would make sense if they continue with a Kashyyyk-Style Turbo Tank. Its the only place where we see it in the Movies. I mean look at the upcoming new Homing Spider Droid that features a Kashyyyk Clone and Yoda (both present in the Battle of Kashyyyk), even though we dont even see the Homing Spider Droid in the battle of kashyyyk in Episode 3 (If i recall correctly). The boxart of the Spider Droid is clearly Kashyyk as well. And actually the new Kashyyyk Troopers will only be featured in two sets (Battlepack + Homing Spider Droid) until the Turbo Tank, so its not necessarily oversaturated (AT-AP only had Commander Gree, no Troopers). My guess is a Ep.3 Turbo Tank that could maybe include a new Luminara Unduli (we see her on kashyyyk) + a varity of Turbo Tank Crew Clones and maybe 1 - 2 more Clone Troopers in Kashyyyk Camo. Honestly I wouldnt be too hopeful for any more popular Clone Commanders to be included in the current Prequel Line, like Cody for example. Edited January 2, 2016 by BigEl Quote
markw Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 No, at least there's never been on in the movies. How about: Ello Asty and Jessika Pava. You can put your Nien Numb head on an X-wing torso if you really need him. He looked to be wearing the same helmet/leather skullcap as always in the film. No, he did have a helmet on. http://cdn.movieweb.com/img.news.tops/NEy9PwWOqR7QCE_2_b.jpg Ello Asty, and Nien for me. Nien has a red suit similar to ROTJ so would be a good second fig with a different torso. About time we had him! Quote
Bricky Dee Williams Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 When do the two Battlefront packs (Galactic Empire & Rebel Troops) officially release in the US? I've seen some European reviewers with them but none at the LEGO Store today. It sounds like March Jang over on YouTue has found out that most of the sets, aside from the TFA sets, will not be sold in the US for a while. Some Lego stores expect them as early as next week, but the US stock shipments have been for some reason delayed. Quote
legolandia Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 The January wave seems to be quite a weak wave composed of small sets. However this is quite a good strategy from Lego since it allows people to give their wallets a break. I am very much looking forward to the next summer wave and particularly the UCS releases. Quote

I do hope they make a Clone Wars based CTT - for the fact that if it were Ep 3 based, it'll have Kashyyyk clones. We have a plethora of those already! Perhaps Lego might follow what they started with the Azure Angel, and give us Clone Wars sets with "normal" styled faces. I'd love that. Quote

I thought for a moment it may be true, given the hype surrounding SW: TFA and the fact that the other just retired. We'll see. Quote
