Brick Capone Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 Didn't know this would be a polybag; hopefully it means the big one will be a summer set. "Big one" meaning big First Order Star Destroyer? I sure hope so. I really like the new Star Destroyers, and I want a set of the first order one so bad! Quote
Bolingbroke Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 Amazon France (not a third party seller) has the new battlepacks for 21,41 euro. Hurry up guys, buy a dozen! LOL. Quote
Aethersprite Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 Didn't know this would be a polybag; hopefully it means the big one will be a summer set. Yes! I do hope we get a minifig-scale Finalizer in the summer. It'd be another nice way to include Kylo Ren and General Hux. Quote

TeufelHund Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 I just pulled out my Death Star today for the kids to play with and it kept them occupied for sometime (albeit with me scurrying around picking up dropped pieces/accessories and fixing bits which had come off). It made me wonder what a new Death Star would have to bring for me to purchase it. Updated figures would be great but I thought if it features prominently in Rogue One and the movie adds some interesting new locations to the Death Star not seen in the original movie I'd certainly be interested. In fact if it left out all references to the second Death Star in RotJ I wouldn't mind. An Emperor's throne room is unnecessary anyway given they just released that as a set... Quote
JamPotStudios Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 (edited) Has anyone else in the UK been on Amazon? I've been looking for some of the new Star Wars sets - namely Battle on Takodana - but they don't appear to be available yet. It seems to be the same for other themes, like Marvel. I'm a little worried though, as I heard a rumour a while ago that new LEGO was only available on Amazon Prime, which I don't have and can't afford. Is there any truth to this? Or do I just need to wait a few more days for them to be available? It's not like Amazon to list them late like this. Edited January 3, 2016 by JamPotStudios Quote
atlas Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 I tend to believe/pretend that women's roles in SW combat were similar to how they were in real life when the movies were released: They had support roles, and although these placed often them in great danger, the Galactic (and US) Senate pretended otherwise. Female pilots in the US were limited to logistics aircraft until recently. (Although in WWII, they would operate fighter aircraft on ferry flights to relocate the equipment about the country as needed.) Maybe she/they had just brought forward more X-wings from the rear and hadn't changed out of the flight suits when the briefing occurred, before operating a different spacecraft for the battle. Now that women can be fighter pilots in combat, they show up in SW as such, on-screen with speaking roles. Either way, I'm sure that Karie and Dorovio served the Rebel Alliance with honor and dignity, I just think we're more likely to get a Jessika Pava minifig long before either of them. The good news is that it's pretty easy to make minifig replicas for both of them, now that we have a proper X-wing suit torso and legs from 75032, and Luke's training helmet in 75081. This is also the helmet that Karie Neth and Dorovio Bold wear in the battle of endor. At the moment I'm working on reproducing all of the Rebel Alliance pilots, including them. While I've been doing it, I noticed that Lego often includes obscure reproductions of various things from the films in sets. Habeer Zignean in the Snowspeeder micro fighter for example. Quote

They're just mislabelled - Battle on Takodana & Resistance Troop Transport - but it seems they don't have them in stock yet. I ordered them yesterday when they appeared. The other set they've not got yet is Kanan's Speeder Bike, which is frustrating - only available from 3rd party sellers with serious international shipping costs! Quote

I'll go pre-order it right away. I hope your Speeder Bike comes quickly. International shipping is always a pain, and it's a great set. Quote
Bricky Dee Williams Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 (edited) Didn't know this would be a polybag; hopefully it means the big one will be a summer set. So long as we get the burnt Vader helmet in the set, I'm up for it! Is that the 2nd Death Star behind the ship?... Oh my gosh it is! That is sooooo out of place. Dhivael Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 I'm having a hard time believing the speculation about the sheer number of "UCS" style sets this year. If "reliable" rumors are to be believed we are getting (1) Battle of Hoth (holdover from 2015); (2) Death Star; (3) Starkiller Base; (4) UCS Snow speeder; AND (5) Millennium Falcon. There is no way that TLG will do 5 UCS style/price point sets in 2016. Yes I want to believe these rumors, but this is getting insane. How confident are the rumors that a Starkiller base set isn't just a big play set in the summer wave, more akin to the large LOTR/Hobbit sets? Quote

I've been doing that for Rebel pilots in both Hoth as well as Yavin/Endor battles. They're on my Flickr account on the link in my sig but I'm on my phone so can't link to an image. Quote
Legoman123 Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 The Millenium Falcon is just a rumour I believe and it is either a new Death Star set or the StarKiller base, not both. That leaves only 3 UCS sets which is believable. Quote

rollermonkey Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 Could just be misinterpretation of information, too. As sets are getting awfully expensive, people might be expecting high-price sets to be UCS, when really they are just big sets at new, higher prices. Quote
CM4Sci Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 (edited) We're getting a Finalizer polybag. I think that's what it is, at least EDIT: Oh, already posted. Death Star II, come on guys Edited January 3, 2016 by CM4Sci Quote

Could be the case for the 270 Dollar "UCS" Hoth Echo Base. Everyone expecting something remotely similar to the Death Star and what they get in the end is another Ewok Village in size or even smaller Quote

As sets are getting awfully expensive, people might be expecting high-price sets to be UCS, when really they are just big sets at new, higher prices. Certainly seems true. That's kind of what I wondered in regards to the Starkiller base-- if we were getting a ~$200 set that is similar to like a Helms Deep or less advanced build Ewok Village thing. Could be the case for the 270 Dollar "UCS" Hoth Echo Base. Everyone expecting something remotely similar to the Death Star and what they get in the end is another Ewok Village in size or even smaller I suspect it will be substantially similar to an Ewok village style build. But I'm okay with that. That was a great display/playset. Quote
Major_Ton Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 It might be me being blind, but is there a list with upcoming sets? Reading back 147 pages is a bit of a stretch ;-) Also now the X-wing and Sandcrawler got a UCS remake, will other sets follow? I'm highly anticipating a new Millenium Falcon, Snow Speeder of Star Destroyer. An AT-AT UCS model would be nice as well, but that one would be new. Quote
Kdapt-Preacher Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 I do hope they make a Clone Wars based CTT - for the fact that if it were Ep 3 based, it'll have Kashyyyk clones. We have a plethora of those already! Perhaps Lego might follow what they started with the Azure Angel, and give us Clone Wars sets with "normal" styled faces. I'd love that. Remember that there are CTTs on Coruscant in RotS, too, albeit briefly. It could come with any combination of Yoda, Windu, Kenobi, and grey-armored 41st Elite troopers if they took that scene as inspiration. Quote
Tariq j Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 As far as I can remember, there was never a Starkiller Base, I think it was a misinterpretation of someone's wish/want. Quote
