Vectormatic Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 I don't get Lego's set list for this summer. We usually have 2-3 $100 sets sitting on the shelves from different waves at any one time and now practically all the sets are $100 and above? What the heck are kids suppose to do? This also eliminates all of those sets I buy out of shear boredom because I need something to occupy my evening. It just doesn't make sense. We got a LOT of cheap sets in the H1 wave though, 6 MFs, 4 BPs, 4 €35 sets (carbon freezing chamber, hoth, obi's interceptor and droid escape) and the €45 spider droid I thought someone said the A-Wing was coming with Sabine? Which was a strange choice... but time will tell. I for one am excited about these releases, although I'll probably only be buying 1 of each (and maybe not all of them). Hopefully we will be getting both new Inquisitors, and adult Ahsoka. I was still in my Dark Ages when the last Turbo Tank came out, so I'm excited by this one. I'd like it to come with some standard P2 clones, like the Micro Fighter version did, as that's probably my favourite Clone Trooper variant. IIRC Sabine has been seen flying an A-wing in a recent Rebels EP, so its not entirely out of the blue. That said, we've already had two sets with Sabine in it, and Hera is in the Ghost MF, so Ahsoka would make most sense if they want to entice minifig collectors a bit more. Quote

Can't imagine anyone buying the Spider Droid... Quote
markw Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 Vader's TIE was only in episode IV, and A-wings were only in episode VI. The only time they could meet would be in the Rebels series. Unless it is a Y wing of course but that seems like a big mistake to make. Quote

markw Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 Sorry yes that is what I was getting at. The only time they have shared the screen was in Rebels, not Original Trilogy. Quote

I stand corrected, forgot about that one And yeah, i dont see the spider droid selling well either, perhaps a few kids who think it looks cool and dont care about piece/$ or collectability yet, or a few seperatist army builders (considering its the only CIS set right now i think) Quote
Rogue Angel Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 Sorry yes that is what I was getting at. The only time they have shared the screen was in Rebels, not Original Trilogy. Which is completely wrong because the Rebellion didn't add A-Wings OR B-Wings to their fleet until after a New Hope, which is why we don't see them on Yavin. You'd think Disney would at least respect the continuity of the OT, but apparently not. Quote

One explanation ive read for this is that the factions in Rebels and ANH are different groups, which join forces somewhere before ROTJ, the ROTJ fleet is substantially bigger etc... Quote
jee_ace_guy Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 Maybe we could get a 1 piece molded head for Vader ! ;-) Quote
pittpenguin123 Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 Maybe we could get a 1 piece molded head for Vader ! ;-) why would you want that. it would be a downgrade Quote
Junior Shark Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 Maybe someone has already said this, but what if the Turbo Tank is a Rebels set? After all, we are getting a AT-TE Rebels set, maybe a Turbo Tank will feature in a future episode of Rebels? Just speculating. Also, any word on Rebels Mandalorian sets?!? Quote
Seaber Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 Hopefully Sabine in the A-Wing, if that turns out to be correct, has the alternate colour scheme, as I believe her armour changes colour between S1 and S2. It'd be a waste getting anohter one identical to the last two, with or without her helmet. Quote

I think amazingbricks said that the Turbo Tank will be a Remake of the 2005 Version, which was a realistic style Kashyyyk Version. Quote
CM4Sci Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 Takodana has been changed back to $60 on Target. If you missed it for $50, oh well! Quote
Nokturn Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 Takodana has been changed back to $60 on Target. If you missed it for $50, oh well! The Resistance Transporter is now $70, as well. Glad I decided to pick up Takodana when it was still $50, but I was hoping the Transporter would stay cheaper. I don't quite understand what the deal is with the prices, but I suppose it's already been discussed to death. Quote
ISDAvenger Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 Takodana has been changed back to $60 on Target. If you missed it for $50, oh well! I am, how you Brits say, chuffed in missing $10 off both of those sets. My Target had neither set in stock for pickup on the 1st or 2nd. Everytime I went to order online I was unable to do so. Oh well, I have $75.00 in gift cards, guess I'll be making a trip to the Lego Store this weekend. Hopefully they will have them in stock. I have heard the TFA sets have been flying off the shelves since with the release of the movie. Quote
Seaber Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 I am, how you Brits say, chuffed in missing $10 off both of those sets. That's not what chuffed means, brother :D Does the double VIP points fall at the same time every year? I need to get the Sandcrawler, the only time I can justify set over £100 is when I get a lot of points to soften the blow. Any ideas when the next one is? The points will be put towards the 2016 stuff which I am loving so far. Quote

You'd think Disney would at least respect the continuity of the OT, but apparently not. Yes, but a kid who collects these sets probably wouldn't know that the A-Wing was developed in response to the speed of the TIE Fighter. Disney changing the continuity slightly isn't disrespecting OT, they own the franchise now, so they can change things if they need. And actually, there was the R-22 Spearhead which was developed before the Battle of Yavin so... Quote
Raskolnikov Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 (edited) I thought "chuffed" was a good thing? Like, proud of yourself, etc. Do you still have your Avenger, by the way? Um, to stay on topic, there is a roughly 100% chance that TIE Advanced and A-wing set is from Rebels. Vader's two-piece helmet was a step in the right direction, in my opinion, and I expect the Rebels variant to be the same mold but maybe different printing. Also, on the continuity issue, the A-wing does appear in Rebels, and there's no going back on that any time soon. I, too, was suprised at that because I thought it was a fairly advanced fighter. But maybe the ones in Rebels are prototypes or earlier variants. They are slightly different from the ROTJ A-wings, since they're based on the McQuarrie concept art like everything in Rebels. TheBrickHitHouse Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 (edited) I thought "chuffed" was a good thing? Like, proud of yourself, etc. Indeed it does, I am well chuffed the summer wave has some larger sets - something to sink my teeth in and something to display. There's really only so much interest one can show in a speeder bike from the Rebels tv show virtually no one even knows exists... Edited January 5, 2016 by TheBrickHitHouse Quote

markw Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 To be fair i'd say the common usage is spot on how you used it. My dad (bless him) has a common phrase 'hurts like buggery' which is pretty funny when you think about it. Quote
benderisgreat Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 So with new list of summer sets, it seems that A-Wing from Rebels with Sabine is now merged with Vaders Tie Advanced to bump price to 100$ ? Sounds like something Lego would do to keep Vader exclusive for expensive sets. Or am I reading to much into this? Its just hard to believe that Tie Advanced can consist of more than 500 pieces, I mean FO Tie Fighter has 500 something pieces and it's bigger than Advances. Also has there been any news or rumors if we'll get new Inquisitors in summer wave? Maybe be some of the unnamed sets? Quote
