CM4Sci Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 I have some pictures of the box art, but they have "confidential" written on them - am I allowed to post them here? I think they're the ones we've seen already. Star Scavenger, Eclipse, Turbo Tank, X-Wing, and the TIE v A-Wing, right? Quote

Sorry - must of missed them when browsing through the past posts. :) I usually praise everything LEGO does - but the Star Scavenger and Eclipse just look like something from a cancelled "SPACE" theme that they slapped a STAR WARS brand to. I'll wait until the tie-in IP launches for final judgment - but they just don't look very "Star Wars" to me. Quote

kylosuperfan Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 So wait... We've seen pics of all but the Jakuu set? Anyone else think that's interesting? Or just coincidental. Quote
namioik Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 So wait... We've seen pics of all but the Jakuu set? Anyone else think that's interesting? Or just coincidental. Coincidental. I was most excited for the turbo tank. The descriptions quickly made me change my mind and now I'm super stoked for the Jakku set Quote

darththeling Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 (edited) I don't get the Luggabeast being in the same set as Plutt and the (supposed) marketplace. It's awesome that we're getting a Jakku build but - the "encounter" with Teedo takes place out near Rey's AT-AT Bungalow so I don't really get it... sure she is attacked again at the market (When Finn shows up) but it's elements from two completely different scenes. I'm sure the box art will depict the following, a la TLG's penchant for battle scenes: Rey fighting back against the thugs who are using a net to capture BB8. Here's hoping we get Unkar's little kiosk where he hands out portions to scavengers. That would be kind of great, actually. "One quarter portion." Edited January 25, 2016 by darththeling Quote

Two sets in one sounds like a perfect op to flesh out the Niima Outpost / Rey scenes. With second hand sets, I am already planning a larger marketplace. Quote
Jedi-Bendu Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 DId anyone else notice this? Brickfanatics: http://brickfanatics.co.uk/london-toy-fair-2016-lego-news/ 75148 Encounter on Jakku – £49.99The scene from Force Awakens where Teedo on a Luggabeast snares BB-8 (that’s a ridiculous sentence). comes with Unkar Plutt, Rey, BB-8, Teedo and a brick built luggabeast. 4 minifigs Brickset report: http://brickset.com/article/18853/london-toy-fair-report-star-wars Rey, BB-8, Unkar Plutt, Teedo and another Jakku Thug are included along with Teedo’s Luggabeast which is mainly brick built but includes some new leg elements which are articulated independently. 5 minifigs Maybe the fifth is Sarco Plank? Kman860 Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 (edited) Sarco would be nice, but isn't he the thug in Rey's speeder? Edit: Nevermind, he's not. Edited January 25, 2016 by Kman860 Quote
Renegade Clone Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 Incorrect the clone wars that was on cartoon network is canon. Incorrect. 'The Clone Wars' is no longer in production. Note I said the only canon show is Rebels at present - as in now! Quote

The Teedos are scavengers, too, so it's possible they'd trade at Niima Outpost as well. But yeah, getting Unkar's kiosk would be awesome. And a few printed round 1x1 tiles with "portions" on 'em. At least the two scenes are roughly related, just broadening them out. Not much different than putting Luke's landspeeder and a dewback in the Cantina set with Han & Greedo... it'd make more sense to have Ponda Baba & Evazan in there, since that whole encounter happens before Luke & Ben meet Han, and before Greedo confronts Han. BrickBob Studpants Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 (edited) I wonder who the scavenger/thug turns out to be... It's probably not Sarco Plank since they'd have clarified that if it was him. Most likely it's one of the regular scruffy-looking unnamed thugs that get their megablocks handed to them by Rey I just hope it's not the same minifig as in Rey's Speeder, that'd be pretty repetitive and would bereft that set of the only exclusive minifig it's got. Flieger Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 Disappointed to be getting another Gree instead of a different commander / clone with the CTT Same here. Gree is already perfect by nowadays Lego standards, so I guess he will be the same. And I have no need of two Grees. Another clonetrooper would have been more interesting especially as the set already includes two named characters. This is actually a problem for me, because I want Luminara (if only to have my clones capturing her, as I dislike her character a lot), but I don't care for Vos, and I don't want another Gree. I guess I will see what the build looks like. So there's a report that a Grand Moff minifigure comes with the TIE Advanced. Anyone at the toy fair know whether the unfirom was dark bluish gray or tan? Since it's rebels, I'd expect it to be tan. But here's hoping for dark bluish gray. I would be surprised if it wasn't tan. I personally made my peace with tan, pretending it is an arid-enviroment uniform variation. Quote
darththeling Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 (edited) Venkefedo, you are absolutely correct that Teedo would trade at the market - I was overthinking it. And yes, even if we don't get "official" tile portions, they should be fairly easy decals to make. Outstanding idea. Did You Know: Teedo (according to the visual dictionary) is a name assigned to both individuals as well as the collective race. Referencing the Teedo and one Teedo are singular in grammar. Weird, eh? I'm so happy we are getting a Teedo figure. Teedo's head is elongated. Wonder if we'll get a new mouled head piece or the standard print on a regular head. "That's just Teedo. He's no respect for anyone." - Rey Edited January 25, 2016 by darththeling Quote

How cool of a Set Reys AT-AT Bungalow could have been Well, still have to wait what exactly we get for the Jakku Set, but I fear it could go in the same direction as Takodana in terms of bad price/part ratio and just a very small and segmented build. They're packaging similar sets together at a higher price so instead of spending $25 for the part of the set you actually like, you end up buying a bigger one for $50. For example, rumor is the upcoming "UCS" Hoth set is basically a combination of a couple of the past Rebel base type sets and an AT-AT. If that happens, that would be the ultimate confirmation of this approach.... Quote

If that happens, that would be the ultimate confirmation of this approach.... Yeah, they're going for bundling to make sure we pay the absolute maximum amount. Same with the Tie Advanced vs A-Wing set - there's absolutely no reason not to make that two sets, but if the combined set is attractive enough, it makes more money. I guess the 2014 Cantina with Luke's Landspeeder falls under that category too. Do we have information about an AT-AT in the Hoth set though? Seems like a waste - we get those every few years, they make great standalone sets. Most of the Rebel Base could only really be done in the UCS. Quote

Ultron Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 Again, we've had this conversation before, why would there be an AT-AT in the Hoth set? It's not going to happen and would take up too many pieces. Please stop asking about it Quote
1974 Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 I wonder what size Unkar Plutt will be? He's clearly bigger than minfig size, but still smaller than bigfigs like the LOTR/Castle monsters ... might he use parts from the new NEXO line? Cheers, Ole Quote
Darth Kylo Ren Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 You have that backwards. I hope so as much as I like Starkiller base I am very excited for the Death Star as I never got one. Quote
