Galactic13 Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 If I can get my hands on that girl from the larger Freemaker set I will have to replace Sabine's head with her head. It would be a much more accurate skin tone to Sabine, the same as Kanan's Dengar is awesome! I wonder who that Sith chick is? Tarkin has that awful brown suit which doesn't make sense. The A-Wing pilot is apparently one of the ones who got shot down at Concord Dawn. I for one really love the Luggabeast. Can't wait to get that set. X-Wing is a must buy for me. Awesome to see non Clone Wars Luminara and Quinlin figs! AT-TE loots really awesome and I would love to add it to my collection along side my CW version. Just some of my initial thoughts of the new sets. Quote
ChiefPie Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 Definitely getting the a-wing and advanced set. I really like the blue x wing. The jakku is a maybe. Quote
markw Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 I think it looks pretty good. The only parts that look wrong or at least very weird (besides the black wheel thing on the top and the blue rubber bands instead of LBG or white ones) are the curved slope pieces around the engines with the blue stickers on it. Lego should have brick built the blue stripe behind the dark bluish gray one. At least that would be a fairly small and simple modification so the Resistance X-Wing is still the most interesting for me. Besides that the TIE Advanced vs A-Wing is interesting, but I just dont know. It just doesnt feel new and interesting, the design and the colours of the A-Wing are pretty nice but the amount of stickers is horrendous... http://i.toynewsi.com/g/generated/2016_New_York_Toy_Fair/LEGO/2016_Toy_Fair_LEGO185__scaled_600.jpg Just spotted the pea shooter for the proton torpedoes in black, looks all kinds of wrong, gonna have to mod that out. MrHerofan Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 While yes some of these do look cool, they are just way to overpriced for my tastes. Like who in their right mind would pay more than they should. Ugh, I guess since its Star Wars they can do whatever they want. Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 (edited) Wow, the AT-TE looks ace I really didn't expect them to include the interior and the back door The clones also look a lot better, now that we can actually see their faces. Too bad about the helmets though, but that was to be expected Edit: Is that a fire extinguisher in the X-Wing set? That's hilarious http://i.toynewsi.co..._scaled_600.jpg http://toynewsi.com/ig.php?mode=view&album=2016_New_York_Toy_Fair%2FLEGO&pic=2016_Toy_Fair_LEGO187.jpg&dispsize=600&start=0&sl=25949 Edited February 13, 2016 by Lego-Freak Quote
Brickweiser Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 Tarkin has that awful brown suit which doesn't make sense. Well thats a fault of the show's stylization. Unfortunate as it is, hopefully grey-suit Tarkin comes in the rumoured Death Star set. Quote
Galactic13 Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 (edited) One more thought: I think that kid from the Freemaker set could be Kitster. LoL just kidding. Do you guys think that Sith chick in the Eclipse fighter could be an Inquisitor? Or maybe a bounty hunter who found one of Ventress' lightsabers? Edited February 13, 2016 by Galactic13 Quote
Schneeds Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 (edited) These "adventure" ships look like they belong more in Star Trek than they do in Star Wars. They have neither the elegance of the imperial fleet, nor the greebly-beat up look of the rebel alliance. Not a fan :/ Vader's tie looks great though. Shame Tarkin is tan. Edited February 13, 2016 by Schneeds Quote
Ultron Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 Jakku set is so awful. Do not like the AT-TE either. Want that inquisitor though. Quote
Tariq j Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 The interior of the AT-TE is a fine addition . Given the interiors of some ships have been a bit of a shambles in the past it's good to see Lego are improving. Quote
Dameronian Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 (edited) Was really looking forward to the new A Wing in particular. Finally TLG came up with a new part as an alternative for the brick built stabilizers as used until now. But unfortunately, that extreme inward angle is even worse than the vertical approximation for the 75003....and screws up the proportions IMO... EDITED TO ADD: I think i know why they made the stabilizers like this....there is no front skid like the 75003 because of the spring loaded shooters..so the stabilizers were where angled so that the craft can sit flat on its belly... Forresto Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 (edited) Well I live on the east coast so its well into the afternoon here. Hopefully pictures are imminent. Edit: a lot happened while I was writing this :D Edited February 13, 2016 by Forresto Quote
Galactic13 Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 Does anyone know if the stands used for the Starfighters at NYTF are available to buy anywhere? If so I would love to get some for my own collection. Quote
BigEl Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 http://i.toynewsi.co..._scaled_600.jpg Just spotted the pea shooter for the proton torpedoes in black, looks all kinds of wrong, gonna have to mod that out. Yes you are right, forgot to mention those since I always automatically would replace playfeatures like that Regarding the AT-TE: Man that thing looks even more miscoloured than the luggabeast. So many bright and flashy colours mixed in that it looks like a playing ground for children Dont know if that is supposed to be like that (dont watch those animated shows), but if so then how would anybody like that "design"?! Kim-Kwang-Seok Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 The A-Wing vs. T-Fighter set is awesome. First (generic) female pilot, EP IV Vader Torso, detailed Sabine Torso & finally Tarkin! But the set is 10 dollars more than usually & still misses Sabines helmet wth?! Not giving us the helmet in a 25 set is one thing, but this time TLG crossed the line. The A-Wing is very detailled - Vader's ship probably the most simple SW build in years. However I'm just happy that they didn't screw up with so much dark grey, like they did on all previous T's. So it's kind of perfect, just the back could have used a more advanced build. btw: Does anyone of u know why there are 2 rubber bands on the base of the A-Wing? Love the Eclipse. The first set of this price that uses such advanced building techniques. - The female Dark Side User wears a new soft cape (first ever in dark blue) & got some kind of faceprinting. Or she's an alien. Can u guys make out if she wears a mask on the second face? - Dengar is a huge improvement to the last version from the Executor. Even his speeder is nice. Splitted about the AT-TE - like Sabine theese figs just would have needed arm printing. Otherwise they look fine, but then again I miss Wolffe's hair & of course their helmets... Interior is not detailed at all, but like the exterior something u could upgrate yourself (like I "built" a sickbay, machine room & Vader's Room in the last ISD. Overal the wave is a step back from the great builds last year (except the Naboo SF). I'm just glad we got Vader's T with little dark grey, female pilot, Sabine & Tarkin in one set. Quote
DarkLordSauron Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 The 'giant cannon that shoots through the blockade' is the ion cannon and it is included just scaled down. Ah, I remembered it more cylindrical. Thanks for the correction. Quote
x105Black Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 I wonder what the piece count of the luggabeast is, really, because on the close up pics it appears that a large molded figure makes up most of the beast with regular pieces for the armor. The only molded animal pieces are the legs. Quote
DarkLordSauron Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 who is that dark side user next to Dengar? I'm sick of these yoda chronicles/Lego licensed Star Wars sets, for goodness sake Lego if you're running out of ideas give us some old legends canon sets, like knights of the old Republic or admiral thrawn sets!!! Correct me if I'm wrong, but everything except the movies, CW, and Rebels is no longer canon. Lego used to give us some old republic stuff, but they probably aren't allowed to now that it isn't canon. Quote
Amazing Bricks Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 $90 for the tie advanced vs A-wing set is going to scare a lot of people from getting it. Such a great set, but the price... The star scavenger set is $50 and it looks worth the money. Three new minifigures and they are all that tan colored skin, exciting! Dengar set looks amazing, both minfigures look perfect. Force awakens sets are scaring me a bit, they look good, but there's not much new. Glad to hear the encounter on jakku set is $60. There's no Santa variation of any minifigure in the advent calendar??? That just made this set even better. Anyways, not a bad wave at all. Quote
Cyberfounder Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 Who is the dark side user in the dengar set??? Quote
Amazing Bricks Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 Who is the dark side user in the dengar set??? Her name is Naare, she has a nice looking face and then a Palpatine looking face on the other side. Not much else is known about her, but she looks great. Quote
Ceroknight Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 The sets look pretty great! Still not sure if I should buy the black x-wing or this new one though. The other TFA set looks pretty interesting too. Others are kinda meh to me. Quote
x105Black Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 There's no Santa variation of any minifigure in the advent calendar??? That just made this set even better. I agree. The white wookiee still has red and green on his bandolier, though. As I said earlier, at least the colors look kind of subtle, but it would have been better in the traditional colors. Quote
