An AT-ST with the same amount of pieces as the recent AT-DP would be amazing. I'd buy it instantly. :P The only bad thing about the AT-DP is that it makes the AT-AT look out of scale and smallish.

If they do put one of those on it (which does seem likely), hopefully it'll be on one of the side-guns, making it a little simpler to replace... but given the focus the launcher will have as a play function, it might wind up as the chin gun.

My main hope is that the legs will be nicely articulated. I never like it when the taller walkers have mostly static joints on their legs, be it from Lego or Hasbro.

I never liked his name, because it's too close to "Sam Hill"... also, he's only the same species as Legends Darth Plagueis. We don't yet know if Plagueis was a Muun, human, or something else in the new canon yet, just that he's male.

I do remember that play function on the last AT-ST though. It only really worked if you held it above the ground and even then it looked stupid, although kudos to lego for at least trying to incorporate it's distinctive leg movements in a set.

As a retailer exclusive set, we probably won't hear more about it until maybe a month before it's released, when it appears in the catalogue for whichever retailer it is.

Oh yeah I heard that just a couple of weeks ago, damn I really hope they don't make him human in the future! My personal interpretation is that he's a muun (in my own canon at least).

As for this AT-ST, I doubt it'll have any tree/log pieces as its from rogue one.

Atleast it would fit on the sett better, the AT-ST has a minigun on one side so atleast it looks like one, It would work better on that set instead of like the FO snow-speeder

I'm sure this has been brought up multiple times in other threads, but I cannot fathom why they would introduce a new, clunky blaster design. The old one they've used for the last few years has been great, as far as i know there was no really no reason to change it up.

But the flick fire stud shooters aren't that much better. I'm sorry but having to go around and collect those studs isn't fun. If it was used as a specialist kind of weapon like a bazooka that would be cool but the flick fire thing

it's because children are so dumb nowadays. you cant give them a classic lego blaster and expect them to use their imagination and go "pew pew pew" with their mouth. they need the gun to actually fire something, even though it looks nothing like the real thing.

AFOLs are so dumb nowadays. You can't give them a functioning blaster and expect them to use their imagination and pretend it looks different. They need it to look exactly like the prop from some made-up fantasy spaceman movie, even though it doesn't do anything.

yeah, i know. when i was a kid i had a he man and i used to pretend he was rambo. another way of looking at it, still, i think that even as a kid i wouldve preferred the old blasters. it's nit as if you can actually hit anything with the current functional ones.

thing is, lego goes to such lengths to give us realistic minifigs, printing, head molds and so on and so forth, and then what, they give us those silly blasters? as i said, even as a child, i wouldve hated them.

I wouldn't say dumb. I think children these days have higher expectations for that sort of thing. Probably due to all of the media available to children. They don't have as much need to "pretend" as AFOLs did at that age.

My 6 year old son has a great imagination and I'm very proud of that. You give him an action figure and he can think of a million different people it can be. So, with LEGO minifigs everything is possible. And for what it's worth, he HATES the stud shooters and spring loaded missles. He actually gets mad when Jang shoots them in his videos.

Agreed. Mine is the same. He is quite the purist as well. Ive seen him create new characters out of existing lego parts that left me saying "wow good job. Never would have thought of that"

Most of us grew up with the original megaphone blasters, no? Anything is a marked improvement over those. That said, I don't think I would have had more or less fun playing with the stud shooters instead of megaphones as a child. The spring shooters could have been fun though, even now I enjoy swooshing my ships around the house and shooting at my family.

On the other hand I feel like its fair to criticize TLG when they go from the old school blasters to the excellent molds and then downgrading them back close to what they were. It's not about accuracy it's about quality.

Same here! I try and modify mine into larger weapons using other black parts - I have about thirty grey triggers lying loose in my parts bin
