I thought Ahsoka was in some kind of something something frigate something but I dunno enough about Star Wars to know if that's really even a thing

Still pretty old in terms of Lego face designs - that was the period they had just begun doing slightly more detailed faces, stuff now has a lot more detail than that, so I'd hope for a new faceprint for any Rebel Fleet Trooper coming out.

I agree. I wish that Lego produced heads with the chin straps that actually represented the faces of the troopers in the film

Please can I remind everyone that this thread is for 2016 Pictures and Rumours, thanks :classic:

If you'd like to talk about sets that you'd like to see in the future, we already have a thread specifically for it (link).

I've also posted this in the general SW thread, but since not everyone checks that thread I will also post it here (normally I don't post my interviews here but this one has a bit about LEGO in it)

Last week I had the chance to ask Keith De'WInter AKA Goss Toowers some questions!

And as said: there is briefly something about his LEGO minifig in the interview

( hey Jedi-Bendu; fun fact, I know him personally :classic:. Great guy! )

LEGO-wise, I find it funny how LEGO keep playing catch-up with their inquisitors...The Grand Inquisitor comes in a set a month or two before he dies, and then the fifth brother comes out 2 months AFTER his death, and presumably the 7th Sister and 8th Brother will be in the same boat.

I'm also curious to see how they represent Ahsoka's white blade pieces, on the assumption she's in the exclusive set..

I'm not sure if we will even get the 8th brother, but I hope we do.

I was watching the deleted scenes for TFA and I spotted what the May 4th figure is based off of. The disappointing thing though is it's an officer with those additional pockets. Why didn't Lego at least include a pauldron? That alone wouldve made me want the figure a little more.

Can TLG just get it right?

I have been thinking that a lot lately. The color of the Kylo Ren command shuttle bothers me, the movie and other merchandise has it all black out, but the TLG released it in Grey. Same thing with the BvS batmobile, although in Lego is black, on the movie is like a dark grey, even with other merchandise it's grey. I am also pissed that the upcoming Grand Moff Tarkin's uniform is Tan. Are they becoming color blind? There's a lot of *@*#)!# stuff that's making me question their tactics and methods.

Well to be fair they were working off concept art. So the color issue was an understandable mistake.

I'm stocking up on those white ones because one day they'll be worth quite a bit.

Well at least it now is screen-accurate, unlike the First Order General. I'll swipe a pauldron from another FO troop and put it on this guy. "Stormtrooper Heavy Officer" I guess is what he effectively is.

That's a warm gray; in other shots in his episodes, it looks cooler. Depends on the lighting. That's how they seemed to have started using dark tan anyway for Rebels Imp officers, because of the lighting in one of the first scenes with Imp officers on Lothal...the whole lighting of the scene was warm, giving their uniforms a 'dark tan' look, but indoors in different lighting it's the usual Imp gray.

Basically what I'm saying is it should've been dark bley anyway, regardless of what they think it MIGHT look like in a given reference still. His uniform in ANH was a warm gray, too, and there was a lot of variety between the hues of the uniforms of the Death Star officers, but...dark bley is the best choice.

Ah, the ol' "Stupid Dark Tan Imps" conversation. I had a revelation on this the other day. I was playing the best Star Wars game evar, Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast, when I discovered something. In the game, there are black-uniformed officers, dark bley-uniformed officers, and...... dark tan officers. *Gasp* *oh2* Now, I'm not saying Lego is using this game to justify their production of dark tan officers, but there are a number of precedents for producing dark tan officers:

Take this as you will. I know there are some die-hard bley Imperial officer people on here. I can only speak for myself, but I certainly appreciate some variation in the uniforms. I'm sure we'll get some regular uniforms with the RO sets or possibly the UCS DS.

In the end, I think there's a real-life parallel between Imperial officer uniforms and WWII German uniforms:

I see tan, gray, and olive. Just like.... *gasp* the Imperials. Food for thought.

Two of those pics are of Ozzel & Veers... in grey uniforms.

The rest seem based on old games (one is Dark Forces or DF2, I think, which aren't great games for reference), or weird comic panel. At best the closest we get in the films is a warm dark grey as opposed to the cool dark greys many wear... Lego's old dark grey would've been perfect for that variation! Dark tan, not so much, especially for Grand Moff Tarkin.

That's a great find! As dissapointing as it is that it doesn't have a pauldron, at least We have the option to throw one on them. It is kind of saddening that they best thing we have to be excited about with this figure is that it's screen accurate though.
