2022 to be exact. It was renewed in 2012 so the contract lasts 10 years. Obviously this was signed at a time when the Sequel Trilogy was in very early stages of production and the original plan was to release a film every 3 years. If that were the case, Episode 9 would have come out the same year as the expiration of the contract.

Is everyone thinking that the new Death Star is going to be the same as the old one with just updated minifigures or do you guys think it's going to have a new interior/design as well?

New design.

This was discussed at great length several pages back but hey it's fun to speculate. Personally I'm hoping it will have a full outer shell that can open up (either by removable panels or hinged) to reveal a highly detailed interior with updated minifigs. Sadly, at the level I would like to see the cost would probably restrict sales. Still, I think it's time TLG paid a bit of fan service and released another iconic "hero" set that every SW fan covets. The UCS Death Star has the potential to be that set. I suspect it will need to blow us away after the debacle that is "UCS" Assault on Hoth. Watch for the pitchforks if they just re-release the Death Star with updated minifigs. Hopefully TLG have learnt a thing or two after the public backlash over the re-release of the seasonal Santa's workshop.

It would be better to have it built as modular levels with perhaps removable outer shell. Too difficult to engineer a hinge like the ghostbusters house. Plus it would limit accessibility if it splits in the middle

I am hoping the new death star will be a little more interesting than just a minifigure update. I honestly don't see a way that they could do much better than the playability of the last death star.

Well the new spin off movies arent called the Star Wars Anthology anymore but Star Wars Stories. So Rouge One: A Star Wars Story. And there will be more spin off movies than a trilogy. So far there is Rouge one, Han Solo, Boba Fett and an Obi Wan movie rumoured. So no AT.

To be clear, the Boba & Obi-Wan things aren't even actual rumors... just fan speculation based on little substance (such as MacGregor saying "I'd love to play Obi-Wan again, but they haven't called me"... or the old rumors when spinoffs were first announced a few years ago and people thought the first three would be about Yoda, Han, and Boba... it's just people thinking about characters with backstories that could be fun to see throwing them out on the internet and seeing if anyone runs with it)

We know a Han movie is on the way after Rogue One & Episode VIII. We know there will be a third Star Wars Story after Episode IX. We know nothing of what it's about, however (I mean, really: think about what we KNOW about the Han film: directors, writers, and that it'd deal with Han & Chewie meeting. That's really about it, and it's like 2 years away... of course we'd know nothing about the 3rd one!)

That set looks underwhelming. The model looks almost under-detailed for what it's trying to accomplish, and the minifigure selection is lacking both in number and in the fact that the clones do not include helmets with worn printing. Zen could've easily been thrown into this set given his role in the with the vehicle.

Fifth Brother is the best thing I see here.

Seems like an ok set in my opinion, even as a huge fan of the show. The rusty old feel doesn't translate easily to Lego, at least not without excessive amounts of detail--obviously not possible with official sets. Granted I'm mostly just interested in the Fifth Brother anyways. And I agree with my boss above, Zeb should have been included, especially considering he was only in one set two years ago; and is screaming for a redesign.

Admittedly, I haven't watched the show, so I'm really not the prime audience. With that said I have bought sets from EU that I knew nothing about, but there isn't much here that would convince to pick it up. The minifigure selection seems small (could use another minifigure or two) and clones without helmets seem boring. Add in that I have the AT-TE from 2013 and feel reasonably able to kitbash that into something like this and I have a set I'll be passing on.

The AT-TE looks pretty good, but I agree that it should have had another minifigure or two (or Rex could have had his helmet at the very least). Unfortunately, I think it's the poorest priced set of the wave. I still like it overall though, and that rusted brown leg is super cool.

As well as the weird red version, there also appears to be a blue A-Wing with more classic looking engines in the background of the Royal visit. There's a video where they meet Chewie and you can just about see the engine tips -- possible LEGO set?

The engine of the blue version looks the same as the red version. Fantastic to see more updated classic OT starfighters in Episode VIII     .... and I am sure new Lego sets!!!!
