Just The Doctor Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 They were both there... Yeah I realised that now, I just watched the news Quote
Forresto Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 It would be hillarious if Ashoka's set was an A Wing and then they make a Lego Resistance A Wing for the next movie. Quote
analogkid81 Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 Maybe we will finally get an UCS A-Wing! Quote
LEGOBREN Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 Given its only a couple of weeks till launch, I would expect a preview set review for Assault on Hoth on YouTube from Brick Show or Jang Bricks or one of those guys. Not seen one where someone has the set in hand yet though... Quote
Darth Malgus Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 Maybe we will finally get an UCS A-Wing! One can only hope! Quote
Sion Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 To be clear, the Boba & Obi-Wan things aren't even actual rumors... just fan speculation based on little substance (such as MacGregor saying "I'd love to play Obi-Wan again, but they haven't called me"... or the old rumors when spinoffs were first announced a few years ago and people thought the first three would be about Yoda, Han, and Boba... There was a recent interview with Ewan McGregor in which he said something like, I don't think I'm aloud to say whether or not there have been talks about an Obi-Wan movie. This gives me hope. Quote
Kman860 Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 Looks like an updated A-Wing will make an appearance in Episode VIII... http://cdn3.spiegel....pres-983622.jpg This was seen during Prince William's visit to the set. Why is there a Republic symbol in front of the cockpit? Quote
Forresto Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 Why is there a Republic symbol in front of the cockpit? It's probably a New Republic ship. Over in the Star Wars thread in the Culture forum, we're discussing the possibility of the fleet surrounding the Hosnian system being only part of the fleet. Quote
darththeling Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 In regards to the PromoBricks/Captain Nemo posted image of the Clone's AT-TE, it looks like they've neglected to push the brown ladders down into their resting positions before photographing the model. In the show, the ladders were on the hull of the tank, not sticking straight out. On the box art for 75157 and the ladders do swing down, but don't fit snugly into the grooves. This build is quite nice I think, my only complaint is no joopa! Quote
mike_mcbam Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 Given its only a couple of weeks till launch, I would expect a preview set review for Assault on Hoth on YouTube from Brick Show or Jang Bricks or one of those guys. Given that Jang buys everything himself, rather than receive anything from LEGO, the fact that it is still a couple of weeks from launch is exactly why he hasn't reviewed it yet. As for Brick Show, I know much less about, but there's no obligation on LEGO's part to send out anything for early review. But anyway, that AT-TE looks rather funky. I pretty much only buy OT stuff, but the disheveled look of it is rather endearing and makes me consider picking it up. Quote
Sucram Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 The only new one I'm hoping to get is the resistance x wing or the a wing and tie advanced, which here in Australia, will cost about 150 dollars! Quote
YellowCorvette Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 http://www.promobricks.de/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/lego-starwars-75157_3.jpg Seems like an ok set in my opinion, even as a huge fan of the show. The rusty old feel doesn't translate easily to Lego, at least not without excessive amounts of detail--obviously not possible with official sets. Granted I'm mostly just interested in the Fifth Brother anyways. And I agree with my boss above, Zeb should have been included, especially considering he was only in one set two years ago; and is screaming for a redesign. Thanks for the picture of the AT-TE. It's a nice looking set, but unfortunately another pass for me because of the price tag. Quote
Bob De Quatre Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 Ok guys, let's do this again... To avoid spoilers, and by respect to your fellow EB members who don't want to know anything about the upcoming movies, please don't post pictures of Rogue One, Episode 8, 9, 10 and all future episodes Disney may produce to reimburse their investment... I didn't want to know that Prince William will be a rebel pilot in the upcoming movies... If you want to discuss the movies, please use the Culture & Multimedia forum, thanks. Quote
TheNerdyOne_ Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 I'm really looking forward to the AT-TE! There is indeed some room for improvement, but overall I think it looks pretty great. I'll probably mod some parts though, to increase the accuracy. My only real issue is with the figures. Not necessarily the amount (Zeb would have been nice though), but with the huge lack of detail on the clones. They seriously need arm printing at the very least, as it is they're missing large parts of what make the character designs work, especially Rex who is missing almost all of the blue paint he has in the show. Tariq j Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 I like the AT-TE as well. It has a good interior, which some other sets lack and I quite like the platform on the top. Quote
Venkefedo Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 Why is there a Republic symbol in front of the cockpit? That circle thing in front of the cockpit? That's not a Republic symbol. PT Republic symbols are similar to Imperial symbols; this is just a dashed-line circle. This is the symbol of the New Republic as we know it from new canon works, and I'm not seeing it in that image. I like the look of the set, too, but agree that the figures are lackluster... printed "sleeve" arms would've been great, darker skin tone would've been even better, and helmets would've been best of all (at least for Rex & Wolffe). If I get the set, I might use Rex's torso, but use the darker bare arms I have on my custom Old Man Rex with Santa beard and Panaka head. Would've definitely preferred Zeb to the stormtrooper in this set... the Imp Troop Transport is still on shelves, and stud-firing blasters aside it's a great source for stormies. Both Rebels Speeder Bike sets have stormies, too! Quote

They're probably thinking of the Open Circle symbol, which was used for the Open Circle fleet, which was under the command of Anakin/Obi-Wan. This may be a similar case. The Open Circle symbol can be spotted on Hera's helmet in Rebels, so it seems to have survived into the OT era. Perhaps the New Republic took the symbol and modified it, and now use it for the new Open Circle fleet. Quote

Venkefedo Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 I cant wait for the Freemaker Adventures sets and loving Naare and her being shrouded in mystery. Not much mystery, tho, considering the set gives away that she has a red saber...and red saber generally means "darksider" Quote

HawkLord Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 (edited) I thought that was a mistake? No, back before Lucas really knew what he was doing with the colors, he considered all colors an option. So, Adi Gallia had a reddish one, Mace had a blue one, etc. Then Samuel L. Jackson wanted a purple one to stand out in AOTC while it was filming and it was around that time that Lucas pulled all sabers back to green or blue for Jedi to help Mace stand out. Edit: I should add that later the EU did establish lightsaber colors for particular professions of Jedi in the Old Republic. Edited April 20, 2016 by HawkLord Quote
Venkefedo Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 It used to not always mean that. Back in the TPM days, Adi Gallia had a red saber according to the Hasbro action figure. "Used to". It hasn't been that way for 14 years, basically. Hasbro & Dark Horse assigned their own colors to the Jedi Council members of TPM (Adi had red, Ki-Adi-Mundi and Saesee Tiin had purple, Plo Koon had yellow--or orange in the Jedi Power Battles game), then George changed things and they had to retcon it all. Since then, outside of ancient times (KOTOR games & comics) or post-Saga EU books set after Luke formed a New Jedi Order, red always means "bad guy". Even in the post-ROTJ stuff, I think few if any Jedi used red; there were some magentas, violets, etc. And while in the KOTOR & SWTOR games you could use whatever color you wanted basically (tho SWTOR had dark/light restrictions on red, green, and blue I think, at least at launch), usually if an NPC had a red blade, it was a villain. While the Lego shows, including Freemaker Adventures, aren't canon, they'll probably stick to the idea of "red=villain", so Naara will initially seem like an ally and probably betray the Freemaker siblings when it suits her, producing a red-bladed saber (or switching the color of the one she's been using), and TLG spoiled it in their set! I doubt it's that; different color, different style (the Open Circle only has two segments; the A-wing's has 6!), and there's no Open Circle symbol on Hera's B-wing helmet; there's a closed circle with a similar color scheme, but it's part of another detail and not likely to represent that Clone Wars era symbol at all.
