Nope, if anything the UCS Snowspeeder helps the AT-ATs case. However the UCS Assault on Hoth may hurt the AT-ATs chances if the sales don't perform.

I don't see why, when they know from the feedback that literally everyone that is unhappy about the set is unhappy due to the price/4-in-1 view/lacklustre minifig line up.

A UCS AT-AT would generally be in keeping with the typical 'UCS' vehicle theme/quality. Unless they went the motorised route again.... then yeah... In my opinion THAT would not be good...

I liked the motorized at-at

Motorized is good for a playse but ucs are more display pieces then play sets for most so that's why most would be unhappy with motorized functions.

Crossing my fingers that instructions/piece counts end up online. This will display nicely with the Celebration and SDCC exclusives from last summer.

I'm a VIP member and I don't think I ever got an invitation for the VIP event. How much do you have to spend to get the space slug set?

That amount has never been known. Same with the Black Friday Invites or when Lego handed out those chrome red minifigure keychains in 2013 just because. Nobody knows just how much you have to buy, or everyone would be trying to hit that mark.

Speaking of and going off-topic, why am I now remembering those chrome red keychains as the gold old days. I can't think of Lego doing anything close to those since.

At first I thought everyone was being too harsh on 75098 Assault on Hoth, but after reading CapRex101's review over on Brickset, I completely agree. The only thing bigger than its hype was its disappointment. While the '66 Batcave had a questionable design, at least its minifigures and vehicles softened the blow, but this is just an insult!

"Bigger and better" than the old one

Forgot about that.

Unfortunately, I don't have a Lego store anywhere near me, but I'm sure I would have spent enough to get an invite. I think I'll definitely be trying to bricklink this.

Does it start at midnight tonight (tomorrow)? Is it eastern standard time? Danish time?

I think it's midnight in your time zone, but I'm not sure.

The only thing in the Insult on Hoth that is scaled like a UCS set is the E-web blaster cannon. It's just incredible how oversized it is and this unbelievably large and detailed model has been made even better with the addition of a stud shooter - a must for every UCS set.

I've read the Brickset review of the Cap'n too and it's just a perfect review. Nothing has been left intact. I hope LEGO listens...

10% off most Star Wars at shop@home. Finally a discount on the Sandcrawler! Bought!

Is this US S@H only? There are no discounts appearing on the Australian S@H website...just the very ordinary first order officer polybag and poster "gifts" with > $100 purchase.

Yep, the CapRex101 review is a brutal but honest crystallization of all the negative points that have been discussed at length. Lego will listen to sales figures. I only hope people vote with their wallets. Jang has just posted a video review of the Hoth Echo base from 2011, so we know his review/comparison will be coming soon.

Yeah, the set has been getting a lot of crap. I want to like the set, i mean there's good things here and there, but it didn't have to be a UCS set. This easily could have been a great smaller set, but the price for this is just horrendous. I hope Lego realizes they dropped the ball with this one. The question now is, who's getting Assault on hoth?

Echo Base, or you mean Assault on Hoth? I am getting it, since I sold all my old Hoth sets that are now retired. Good way to get some of them back. Plus it's not a horrible set in my mind. Its Lego, Star Wars, and OT... so I'm in.

I agree. Its a decent set but not really worth the price. :sceptic:

In my opinion, they should have kept the recent Snowspeeder out for longer, sold the base part and the accessories (generators) and figs with some figs for like $60 to $70, a battle pack styled set with the Wampa, and then the current $30 set with the trenches.

That would have been perfect and its essentially cheaper buying all that than the "UCS" set... *huh*

Had considered getting the Hoth set, because it is a useful augment to an existing Hoth setup, or somewhere to start. But only 2 snowtroopers, no AT-AT, ANOTHER snowspeeder, and $400 are 4 very good reasons to turn it down. A few rebels, another tauntaun, some nice droids and a handful of installations is not worth $400 to me. I might even baulk at $250 to be honest.

Sadly, the precedent for us is no discounts, due to how expensive it is for them to post ($200+) orders for free. It also appears that we don't get double VIP points either. Been waiting for today to order Kanan's bike & the Maze, now I have to find another $40 of SW to even get the minifig.
