Here in Israel the summer wave sets is available for like a month. Unfortunately, the sets are very expensive here(I know this wave is expensive itself, but here it's way more).

For example, 75150: Vader's TIE Advanced vs. A-wing Starfighter, costs here 840 NIS which is 218 U.S. Here is a proof:

So I'm just waiting for the sets to be available online. Do you guys know when the sets will be available in UK? Sites like THEHUT(Which send internationally).

For you guys, Lego became very expensive. For me. it's very fine. When I was child, online shopping was not available, so I bought sets for very high prices, now everything feels cheaper and I bought all the TFA sets for a price of 3 big sets here in Israel.

BTW, I'm new.

Is it weird that I strongly disliked TFA but still want to get the sets? Lol, Takadona and the Jakku one both look really cool.

Not really that weird. I strongly dislike both Rebels and The Clone Wars, but have still ended up purchasing sets based on both.

New canon material generally means some decent vehicle and location designs, even if the story/idea of the material itself is terrible.

There are plenty of people who disliked the prequels, but still found some vehicle designs like the Naboo Starfighter appealing, for example.

Although, as a side note I will say that I've never heard of anyone who strongly disliked The Force Awakens.

I thought it was generally extremely well-recieved by fans and critics alike.

Personally, it's the absolute pinnacle of the entirety of Star Wars, for me. It's just incredible.

NEVER HEARD OF ANYONE WHO STRONGLY DISLIKED THE FORCE AWAKENS, eh?

I hate it with a strong passion; it's far worse than the prequels, IMO. The whole movie is literally A New Hope revamped for the 21st century. I'd go into detail about why I feel that way, but there are plenty of articles online on the subject and that's not what this forum is for. Anyway, I'd put it far from the pinnacle of the entirety of Star Wars. But I also happen to like Episode I because I like the political side of Star Wars, so I know I'm definitely in the minority of fans.

Point is, yes, there are those of us out there who didn't like tFA.

(I'll be real pissed if Kylo Ren chops off Rey's hand in VIII.)

That won't happen, because VIII won't bear much resemblance to ESB at all, which is made clear in the articles about exactly why TFA had so much of ANH in it (never forget that TPM had a lot of ANH in it as well), rather than the articles merely complaining that TFA had too much ANH in it. :sweet:

I'm very glad the BB-8 keychain's being released! I hadn't kept up on any rumors about new keychains, and just a few days ago ordered a non-Lego Alliance crest keychain because I'm in desperate need of one (my keyring's a lot lighter these days, so having a proper chain will help)... and I couldn't find any Lego BB-8 versions. So, yay! Something to add in the near future...

I would lay odds on tomorrow (so, a couple of hours?), given that the S@H street date is tomorrow.

These weren't out yet? I'm sure I saw these at Legoland Windsor this April

They've been in stock at Legoland California for at least a month now. BB-8 has been on my keychain since the end of April.

It's kinda funny that fans dislike the prequel movies because it was nothing like the OT, but still dislike TFA because it was similar to the OT (Looking at you, DarkLordSauron)

Aside for that, although that the TFA minifigure key chains is now available, I won't buy any of them since those key chains are very overpriced in my country.

There's nothing wrong with that, since that many fans still get the PT sets although the prequel trilogy movies isn't that good.

I like the PT even though they are consider bad movies. I don't see a lot of resemblance of TFA to ANH but the main parts that do, do stick out but I think they were wise in making it similar to ANH.

Well the criticism for both is justified IMO, the prequels just utterly fail as movies in being entertaining (though I like Episode III) and TFA could've delivered the same OT feeling with a different (simple perhaps, but entertaining) story, yet it became a shameless nostalgic ripoff that literally copied too much. Oh well, it's all a matter of opinions I guess, though I do not understand that the majority likes TFA. I don't hate it that much, but I expected a 50/50 split of opinions at least. Copying a movie doesn't give it the same feel, they had years to write something decent and this is the best they could come up with?

Guys as much as I would love to indulge myself in defending PT and TFA, this is not the thread to do it. There is a Star Wars thread in the Culture and Media forum however if you want to take this outside :P

I had a thought last night where the death troopers were metallic dark grey instead of black. That woildnt make sense though since the designs are actuall black. Is Metallic Black a thing?

No, I like PT because it is so different and adds new complex layers to Star Wars beyond Good Guys vs Bad Guys and growing up. But they were horribly written. TFA is a well made movie, but It's too unoriginal for my tastes. I think JekPorkchops hit the nail on the head as far as my opinion goes. Perhaps I was too hopeful for a new, creative, shall we say Palpatine-esque story in the new trilogy in the form of well-made movies. OT is great, but I don't want a new OT, I want something new entirely.

And as far as TPM goes, yes, it is similar in story to ANH. So is pretty much every happy story that's ever existed (Lucas followed a VERY unimaginative hero's journey model). But TFA is so visually similar to ANH (Death Star/Starkiller Base? I mean, come ON... R2-D2/BB-8 being hunted down by the Empire... on a desert planet... the list goes on), it's so much more obvious IMO.

Why couldn't they just make translucent white lightsaber blades for ahsoka? How hard is it to do that?

Probably because Lego's going to put that in another set and they want us to buy that one too.

And as far as the price debate goes from, like, two pages + ago, I'd just like to say that I haven't been commenting on any of the new sets because I have no intention to buy any of them. The only Star Wars sets I've bought in the last year are the AAT, that $40 steal (droid carrier) that goes with the AAT, and the droid escape pod because I have no interest in $50+ sets with ppp over 10c, ESPECIALLY if they don't have good minifigs. So that pretty much eliminates everything TFA. Nor do I want anything not from actual Star Wars (I'm looking at you, Freemaker Adventures).

Both movies still has their own difference. I mean that, did you see two guys who barely know each other flying a TIE Fighter together to eccape from a Star Destroyer in ANH? I could go on, but this isn't the best place to talk about this thing.

A hell of a lot harder than you would think, considering that's not even a color in their production palette.

I really hate to contribute to the devaluation of this topic but I just have to say, some people dislike TFA because it was TOO similar to ANH. Anyways, to Forresto, I think metallic black is a colour. Whether it's in the lego palette or not, I don't know.

Where is this coming from? On the box, it looks like she's got trans-clear saber blades, which is close enough.

They were blue in the photos. So we wait and see whether the photos had an error or the box image's colour was misleading.
