RetroInferno Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 (edited) Very pleased by those models: mini figs details are amazing and several old updated mini figs, most notably the death star trooper? ( don't they have a death star gunner helmet though?) Tie pilots looks very detailed, and that tie striker.... :O A shame about the At-St pilot, while the printed goggles on the helmet are nice they lack black gloves. Going to have to wait to see the full box arts for each sets but they definitly have to include more than a single Death trooper on that Imperial landing craft... TheNerdyOne_ Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 I'll probably just get the U-wing, but that's just because I'm a rebellion fan. Jyn's helmet looks like it might be really good to use for the rebel troopers from Rebels. At least better than what we have now. Quote
Galactic13 Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 Isn't Mr. Whitaker's fig the one on the top right of the minifig page? It's a different outfit from his in the trailer but I really think that is him. Quote
Venkefedo Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 (edited) Is it just me or does it look like we get two version of Jyn? On the minifig page it has Jyn then the "not Biggs" guy then another minifig who look like they have female lips. Maybe it's a different character, but I would make sense to have more than one version of the lead in more than one set. It's just you; the one on the right with the new helmet with dark green on top doesn't look like he's got lipstick to me; odds are, just a Rebel Trooper. He shares his legs with the Rebel Trooper (in the Endor hat with a gray band) in the TIE Striker set. It'd make sense to have Jyn in multiple sets, but we probably won't see her again until the winter wave (where she'll likely appear without her hat, I imagine). Even if you think that Rebel Trooper still has lipstick, the fact he's part of 75155 just like the hat/goggle Jyn rules him out as being "another Jyn". I didn't get a lengthy look at the leaked pics; would anyone care to make a list of which minifigures go with which sets? 75152 Tank: 2 tank troopers, Chirrut (blind guy) 75153 AT-ST: AT-ST Driver, Baze (heavy-weapons guy with red backpack), Rebel Trooper with a new hat 75154 TIE Striker: TIE pilot, Rebel Trooper (new Endor hat), Shoretrooper, and a black-clad guy with a walkie-talkie with a printed tile on it, and landing baton things in the box art... i.e. most definitely not a "Death Star Trooper". His helmet looks like a Death Star Gunner's, sorta, with the 'dimples' in the forehead part like Kallus' helmet or a Death Star Trooper's. 75155 U-wing: Rebel pilot (not Porkins; this guy's clean-shaven, and I doubt Porkins would wear a different helmet-deco a day or three before ANH), Bestan (furry alien), Jyn Erso (with a hat/hair combo & goggles), Cassian Andor (in his "blue Hoth Han" coat), Rebel Trooper (helmet kinda like Commander Sato's troops in Star Wars Rebels) 75156 Imperial Cargo Shuttle (or whatever): K-250, Bodhi (guy wearing a faded Imperial jumpsuit & goggles), Pad (gray alien with brown hat), Death Trooper (I expect two), Director Krennic. ...might not be a very long wait to see a proper Thrawn minifig, tho. Guess it depends on whether the winter wave will serve up any Rebels sets based on the premiere of Season 3! (still just a rumor, with a tease by Filoni, but it'll likely pan out as Thrawn becoming a canon character in Star Wars media that could merit a Lego minifig) EDIT: Isn't Mr. Whitaker's fig the one on the top right of the minifig page? It's a different outfit from his in the trailer but I really think that is him. No, that's just a Rebel trooper. Whitaker's character has facial hair, this guy doesn't... he also wears somewhat bulky armor which might warrant some Malgus/Inquisitor-style armor piece over his torso, but this guy's just in a uniform. I expect Whitaker's character (perhaps Mads' character as well) will turn up in the winter wave's second allotment of Rogue One sets, much like Leia & Ackbar did with TFA. Forresto Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 (edited) In regards to Thrawn. If they do bring him back for season 3 and we get a mini figure (which is my complete nerd dream right now) will they give him a tan uniform? Isn't Mr. Whitaker's fig the one on the top right of the minifig page? It's a different outfit from his in the trailer but I really think that is him. It should be since as far as we know he's the only Black actor in the rebel crew for the movie. Edited June 2, 2016 by Forresto Quote
Brickweiser Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 Anyone else see Vader Down? That blue rebel pilot appears to be sporting the same blue jumpsuit of blue squadron in the first issue of that series.... May have to get multiples of the figure... Quote
Galactic13 Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 Apon closer inspection I have to agree that the fig is probably a male rebel trooper. Probably using the face from the some of the FO ground crew. But I'd still like to think the black dude is Whitaker's character. I'm probably wrong, but I can't really see them leaving out o main character like that that hasn't been kept very secret at all. Especially in comparison to how they treated Han and Leia for TFA. Quote

Dammit, now there's a strong reason to buy multiple U-wings - I went back and checked Vader Down #1 and that's the exact outfit of Blue Squadron. I suppose one could just pawn off the uniques piecemeal to recoup some of the costs. Hopefully they don't go for *too* much on bricklink since I doubt we'll ever see another Blue Squadron figure appear, it's pretty obscure. Quote

darththeling Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 (75146) may explain why Kylo Ren's shuttle wasn't black. If Kylo's Shuttle (75104) were black, these two would look very similar. Too similar. Overall it's great stuff and I love the size/scale of the tank. Already planning to get two of them. Too bad the TIE looks a tad big (as usual), but then again, who knows? Maybe these are huge TIE Strikers. If they are $70+ each, I may just Bricklink some much smaller ones. I'd rather display a swarm of thin ties than one big thick one any day. A swarm of them would look excellent tho. Kinda wish they were in the cheapest kit slot. U Wing also very neat. Kinda resembles if someone welded a snowspeeder to a cargo container. Its engine array reminds me more of Azmorigan's cruiser than the X wing. Wasn't expecting all this today! Thanks for the sweet links. Quote
Venkefedo Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 It's nice to see they put a Technic half-pin on a blaster in the AT-ST set, but I'm a little bummed they put in on the "short blaster", the typical Stormie blaster, at least if it's meant to be a DH-17 like the Rebel troops on the Tantive IV use... a half-pin on the small blaster works much, much better for that IMO. It's an easy thing to change, kinda like it's probably pretty easy to swap out the AT-ST Driver's hands for black 'gloved' hands. Or maybe we'll see a larger blaster among the Rebel arsenal with a silver/gray barrel and that's what this trooper's meant to be using... Quote

I may be wrong but that Tie Striker cockpit looks extremly long, maybe not Tie bomber long but still. Those death star gunner-ish dudes are also intriguing... Quote
Jar Jar Bricks Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 AT-ST looks good! Legs look a little miss shaped but that can be fixed, and let's hope the Tie Striker wings fold up and down, but just up. Otherwise it's Kylo RENs shuttle all over again. (Yousa in big Doo Doo this time TLG) Quote

just2good Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 Hey guys, I think this'll be the only time I ever do this, but I'm warning you - leaks like this should NOT be shared, even if it's final. If you get them be careful, I've learned this recently. I'm hearing rumblings of The LEGO Group threatening legal action for original sources for these types of pictures. This wasn't straight from LEGO, you can take this as a grain of salt if you want, but don't say I didn't warn you. Quote
TeufelHund Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 (edited) I like most of these sets - probably the smallest and largest are most attractive to me as I am mainly interested in Imperial stuff and already have an ATST and don't fancy the weird tie-variant much (although the minifigs in that set are pretty good). If you're only interested in minifigs then it's probably worth holding fire till next year as no doubt a lot of these (especially new trooper-variants and the heroine) will be in battlepacks and other sets in the January 2017 wave. One thing I don't like is the lack of OT stormies since they featured so prominently in the trailer. It would have been nice of TLG to throw one in with a few of the sets like they have with a lot of the Rebels sets. Edited June 2, 2016 by TeufelHund Quote
Artanis I Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 The Brick Show will be in big trouble for that. No more free sets for them! We are still 3 months from release and it's all leaked already... Disney will go crook Quote
Kman860 Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 We have to get battle packs though, those Imperial designs and molds are too good to waste on just this wave. I have a sinking feeling the BP's for the Imperials will be one of each of the new designs. 1X Death trooper 1X Shore Trooper 1X Tank Trooper, 1 X Death Star Trooper I would buy 20 or 25 of those, but I think the BP will have at least one regular stormie in it. Also, I was just reading that K-250 is actually K-2SO, if you look at the leaked charts and pictures. Quote
the_colonel Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 As I only buy (and build) those models I actually like in their appearance I am looking forward to the AT-ST and the TIE-Fighter. The TIE reminds me of the TIE Defender. I think, the model can be easily MOD to make it a TIE Defender, which is my favourite TIE since the good old DOS game back in ancient times ... And I always wanted an AT-ST next to my AT-AT and the new AT-TE (Captain Rex). Yes, the themes do not fit to each other, but hey - they are walkers. Quote
appiah4 Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 (edited) Lego have managed to release a Rogue One set wave with absolutely nothing I have any interest in owning (maybe, just maybe except the U-Wing but there are so many better sets in the backlog to buy - and that includes Tydirium which is a MUCH better deal than this - that even it will have to be skipped). That's quite a feat. Hey guys, I think this'll be the only time I ever do this, but I'm warning you - leaks like this should NOT be shared, even if it's final. If you get them be careful, I've learned this recently. I'm hearing rumblings of The LEGO Group threatening legal action for original sources for these types of pictures. This wasn't straight from LEGO, you can take this as a grain of salt if you want, but don't say I didn't warn you. Good luck to them. I hope they wake up one day and remember it's 2016 not 1996. They either have to control their information better or deal with it. Or they can try to sue some people, I guess. They will fail. Edited June 2, 2016 by appiah4 Quote
wesker Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 Imperial Tank: Not the most interesting set. Reminds me a lot of the First Order Snowspeeder. The Tanktroopers are pretty cool though. AT-ST: Easily the best version yet! Definitely a worthy upgrade. TIE Striker: Looks like a fantastic set but the size little bigger than I would've liked. It doesn't look as shelf friendly as the other TIE Fighter sets. Shame there's only one Shoretrooper though. For the size of the set there should definitely have been two. U-Wing: The set itself looks good but I'm not entirely sold on the design of the actual ship yet. Combining the appearance of a starfighter and dropship just makes it look messy. I think it would look a lot better without the "U-Wing"s at the front but I guess they had to keep the alphabet gimmick for the Rebels. Jyn Erso also looks like a very boring minifigure which is a shame considering she's the main heroine of the film, but the pilot, rebel, alien and Cassian all look fantastic. Imperial Cargo Shuttle: I love this one! The all black colour scheme and triangular angles really give it a distinctive look while still retaining the classic Imperial Shuttle design. Hopefully the set comes with a solid interior. Hopefully it will come with a reasonable ammount of Deathtroopers. Overall I don't see myself rushing out to get this wave. I'll probably hold off on some of the sets until I see the movie and depending on what the prices are like. Quote
Ed9217 Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 I fear for my wallet once these sets are released, those rebel figures are to die for. Finally new aliance figures and new helmet designs. Don't think I've ever been this exited for new sets. As you can tell I'm more of a rebel alliance fan than of the empire, so these sets are something special. Plus I can have a few new imp figures to use as blaster fodder Quote
physichull Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 (edited) Unfortunately, I absolutely love all of them! The ATST looks great too, not all that fussed about the quality of the minifigures, its all about the vehicles for me. For me, its one of the bettrr waves released in recent years. Edited June 2, 2016 by physichull Quote
JekPorkchops Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 The Brick Show will be in big trouble for that. No more free sets for them! God I hope so. They have zero talent anyways. Well, these sets look great. Better than the first TFA wave as far as accuracy is concerned I believe. Love the U-wing and the tank. Quote
